We stopped in here after visiting the nearby botanical garden. Of all the places we saw, this one was the best-rated. Parking is extremely limited here as it shares a tiny parking lot with an adjacent business, allowing for just 3 cars to park. There is a handicap space in front, however. When we went, no one else was there. The dining area is small, with some tables and chairs. We ordered at the counter and waited for our food. Chips and salsa were brought out to us, and the employee explained which sauce was considered the spicier option. Our tacos came out shortly after. They made everything to order, so our food was very fresh. Everything was tasty and well-made. It was easy to ask for a couple of cups of water during our time there. I took off a star because their tortillas kept falling apart. It was easier to eat with a fork than to hold their tacos in our hands. Although the food was good, we felt like we had better elsewhere. Their prices are also a bit higher than what we're used to for the same food. read more

Small unassuming mom and pop taco stop. They have a whole menu and everything is scratch made. Ordered some carnitas and Al pastor tacos to go. REALLY good tacos! Tiny little place, almost no parking in front, but they have a handful more in back. They have a drive through, but it is a tight fit for full size trucks, and a no-go for dulies. They scratch make everything, so be patient. It is well worth the wait. read more

Super friendly staff and outstanding breakfast tacos! An unassuming building should not throw you off, Taco Broadway has some of the best breakfast tacos near Alamo Heights. Hours are not as posted on Yelp or Facebook. We arrived at 9 a.m. on Sunday and they were not open. Looked like someone was showing up to open maybe? We did not have time to stick around to wait for the opening process. Maybe it was a fluke? We'll try again sometime. read more

Great little Mexican Restaurant. Specializes in delicious homemade tortillas and tacos, but excellent other just made choices. They make EVERYTHING fresh for each order, including the tortillas, so takes a minute but well worth it. Full of locals as well sometimes so....might have to chill a bit. read more

Cute little place for some good Tex Mex Food at affordable prices. We had had the enchiladas with crispy taco and carne guisada with cheese taco and all of it was good. There's parking behind the restaurant but you have to go through the drive-through so I was told wish I knew earlier cause it's a pain in the ass to get out if you park in front. Overall: the restaurant is clean, authentic and welcoming! Our family (including toddler) loved it. Jay was our server and he was attentive, knowledgeable, professional and enthusiastic. The Food: the bacon was nicely crisp, salsas were flavorful and the Barbacoa was dee-licious! (And my bar is quite high knowing all of the go-to spots in the south side). This barbacoa was flavorful, clean and indulging (not at all grease filled). What's next: we'll definitely be back! Bonus points the zoo is around the corner. read more

Sooo good. SA native and 1st gen Mexican American here. Sometimes they take a little while BUT worth it. They're always fresh/hot. Flavors always come through. I love their tacos. I haven't had one from there I didn't enjoy. The tacos are not greasy and heavy. Also they have a drive thru. Can be easily missed. In my top 5 for tacos in SA. read more

When I say I want enchiladas, this is what I mean. Waited a minute in the drive thru, but I was not disappointed. Super savory and seasoned meat to perfection, creamy sauce and warm tortillas made me rate this hole in the wall 10/10. Bring your hungry partner here when they say they want enchiladas. If a business is dishonest, nothing else matters. Taco Broadway in San Antonio is as dishonest as it gets. First, when I asked about the size of drinks prior to ordering, the server started the drinks were 32 oz. When the drinks arrived, not only was it the most watered down horchata I've tasted, it was also a glass no more 18 oz -half the size. When I asked him why he had lied regarding the size, he just stated that 32 oz "was the to-go size" and left. That should have been the sign to leave Taco Broadway. We had to ask several times for a refill on salsa and chips even though there were 7 people at the table, he only has bright one serving. The food arrived and we were disappointed at the portions. The beans and rice had been spread on the plate to make it look like a bigger portion. Upon requesting the bill, everything had an increase in price, even the drinks. They do not give you a breakdown, so please ASK for that breakdown. Taco Broadway owners have zero honesty or work ethic, so we decide not to support such disingenuous people. Taco Broadway was not what we expected in flavor, portions, and definitely we didn't expect to be scammed. The server said the prices increase after breakfast and the "sign was right there", but he pointed at a blank wall. If Taco Broadway thinks they can increase the price from breakfast to lunch, then perhaps they need to provide a DIFFERENT MENU WITH ADJUSTED PRICES. We will not return and a complaint will be filed with the corresponding state entity. We do not recommend Taco Broadway to anyone. Scamming people is not the way to build your business, Taco Broadway, but then again, that's probably why we were the only table in the middle of lunch time. read more

Carnitas tacos were out of this world my wife had a flautas they were large and crispy came with rice and beans. We were in town for a wedding and happened to catch this place on Broadway on the way to the airport from downtown. Super fast and friendly service could be family owned. Definitely want to check this one out if you can for a quick meal in a clean environment dine-in or take-out. I will definitely stop in again if I'm in downtown San Antonio read more

There's nothing I love more than a legit taco place-- except for a legit taco place WITH a drive-thru. I gave Taco Broadway a chance after my usual spot got caught not paying employees proper wages... a no-go when I'm choosing where to spend my money. This place came highly recommended by my neighbors and, luckily for me, is only a block-and-a-half away from my apartment. To my delight, the breakfast tacos at Taco Broadway are delicious and the service is excellent! The owner, Nydia, is super kind and friendly. Taco B recently received a 100 on their health inspection, which is especially appreciated during this pandemic. I'll eat breakfast tacos anytime of day, but I'm looking forward to trying more items on their menu. Support your local taco shops, y'all! Especially this one. read more

We've been to this little hole in the wall taco place and both times the food was amazing. The staff is super friendly and the service was very quick. I got the potato and chorizo taco. The potatoes were so soft and very delicious. My wife got their Al Pastor tacos and it was seasoned perfectly and the meat was super tender. Definitely recommend and will be back again. read more

Not sure if my pic does justice but trust me when I say these tacos are nothing short of AMAZING! I always have to get their beef fajita taco whenever I go & their potato egg & cheese. My boyfriend also enjoys their carne guisada and bean and cheese tacos. Their tortillas will melt and your mouth & their green salsa will kick your butt! If you don't know this place is here, chances are you'll miss it. Minimal parking up front with plenty around the back. Stopped by for a taco and went with the Carne Guisada... I've been a connoisseur since the age of 5, it wasn't that the taco was great the first time. Plenty of taste, tender meat, fresh tortilla; it was the fact that the consistency was there over 3 visits with the same order. Every single time it was great which isn't always the case as there may be a different cook day to day. Regardless if it was the same or not, the consistency is what will bring me back again and again. read more

It seemed like a very authentic place, and that's coming from a resident of Michigan. A resident that eats Taco Bell. A resident who eats Taco Bell and think's THAT'S authentic Mexican. The first thing I noticed was that this place did not seem to serve burritos. Not a marker really for me, but it was something I've never came across before. I also thought that you were stuck ordering enchiladas or tacos in a meal type of setting. Upon further questioning, you can order a la cart. That was a relief. I ended up ordering the enchiladas Verdes because sometimes I ignore my color palate and go for green. And because I can't just stop eating one form of meat, cheese, and sauce, I ordered a taco. The beans have a great flavor and even the rice (I'm just not a fan of most Mexican rice because it's bland) had a great flavor. The tortillas are the perfect thickness and are soft and warm. And of course - the green sauce - it's amazing! Our server was very friendly and prompt and the food came out quickly on a Saturday evening during prime dinner time. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.
