We went to @los_tacos_gueros for lunch today. It's been a while since we've visited. We love the mango fountain drink that they have. All 3 of us had it. Dad had the Pancake and Eggs Plate with bacon and potatoes. I had them make the scrambled eggs for him. Hubby had the Mexican Plate and a Barbacoa Taco. I had the Barbacoa Taco. All delicious and freshly made. The barbacoa was moist. Suppose you're in the Stone Oak area and looking for a breakfast/lunch/brunch place. Look no further!

This place is really good! I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner who immediately insisted on giving me a free coffee which was a nice added touch. They are consistently fast and good! I love the trash can taco and just a good ol bacon egg and cheese taco. Place is clean and workers are friendly!! Highly recommend!! I stop here weekly!

    Waiting for a churro!

What a hidden gem we found visiting San Antonio! Tacos were really good and friendly service. The self serve drinks including Horchatas & other beverages! A big plus for my grandson was that they're was a couple of guys making churros outside!

Came back and had the bulldog taco and Los guerko taco. The bulldog may be the best taco I've eaten.

The absolutely best food I've ever had. I had La Costra. I was visiting from out of town over a year ago and I'm still thinking about the food

We decided to run to Los Tacos Gueros for breakfast tacos this morning and ordered them to go. The line was short and we were able to order at the counter. After ordering 6 tacos, we went to the salsa bar and got little cups of salsas, onions and jalapeños. The inside is clean and has a good amount of seating. We ordered the following: - Guero Breakfast Taco (I didn't try this one although it looked phenomenal) - Bacon, Egg & Cheese: A traditional/ basic breakfast taco that was just ok - Potato, Egg & Chroizo: Delicious and better than I've had at other places - a must order When we got home, we quickly realized we were missing a few of the tacos and had to call them to let them know. They apologized for the mistake and said if we came back they would have the missing tacos ready (not the end of the world... it's something that happens). I will note that by the time I went back for the tacos- this place was quite crowded (usually a good sign for tacos). I would visit again but would likely try somewhere closer first since my go to order is the bacon egg and cheese. My mom on the other hand has said this is her favorite place!

Coming to Los Gueros has become a weekend tradition. Out of all the tacos I've tried so far, La Costra has to be my favorite so far. My boyfriend ordered the Pancakes & Eggs meal. I have to say, those pancakes were delicious! Their mango juice tastes freshly made. The staff here is so nice and friendly, they are always checking in on their customers and very attentive that everything comes out perfect. 10/10 recommend coming to Gueros.

I miss this place since I moved to PA. Delicious breakfast tacos. The ladies at Touchstone Imagining also love it when I bring them tacos from here. They freak out.

When in Stone Oak and craving breakfast tacos, Los Tacos Gueros certainly fits the bill. It is my kind of eatery with a relaxed vibe, fun service, and the consummate neighborhood feel. It is an ideal spot for a meal on the go or casual sit down with good company. Nestled in the corner of a strip mall location (#1), there is a good mix of outdoor and indoor seating. Despite not being overly spacious, they've got a decent mix of standalone tables and booths. There is a fun salsa bar, self-serve drinks, as well as an area for memorabilia (think cups / mugs) For folks who were just a handful of years ago, they've done an outstanding job renovating the place to look brighter and way more inviting. They usually have music playing in the background and a pretty bustling staff running in and out of the kitchen. The format is simple: pay first and then have the food delivered to your table. I would recommend calling in ahead of time for takeout, but the food comes out fairly quick. I have enjoyed what I've sampled here for the most part. The barbacoa breakfast plate ($11) is an easy choice, namely for the very tender bits of barbacoa meat, which comes with a couple of eggs and some refried beans and potato. I do wish the portion size was more substantial than 3oz, which goes pretty quick. The huevos a la mexicana ($8) feels pretty hearty considering all the stuff in it (onions, tomatoes, peppers, etc.) but definitely needs a healthy dose of salsa. Though I can appreciate their migas ($3.30), machacado ($3.70) tacos, the trash can (eggs, potatoes, beans, carne guisada, cheddar cheese) is kind of my guilty pleasure. I can understand why it's a *guero* kind of place. I also love that they occasionally serve coffee and churros outside, at least from what I've seen on the weekends. The horchata and jamaica agua frescas aren't fantastic, as I've definitely had better. The staff is friendly, quick, and impressively bilingual. I hope I can come back soon to try more of their breakfast / lunch dishes, which look very tasty. _____________ (#1) Welcome to Stone Oak.

GAME CHANGER! When…read moreI visit San Antonio Plantaqueria is an absolute must. I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Plantaqueria has revolutionized modern, classical Mexican street cuisine. It's open 7am-7pm so you can literally have this all day and you might wish you did. Y'all need to get you some, and don't thank me, thank the purveyors of this Alamo City gem. P.s. I've brought my mom in to eat this stuff and she totally agrees!

(It had Just Egg but I think other things added with it. It felt that it was softer and lighter than if it was only Just Egg) and pico de gallo on handmade flour tortilla. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

That's exactly the energy at Los Weyes de la Asada. From the second you walk up, it feels alive. Not in a forced way, more like you've been there before, even if it's your first time. The kind of place where your stress, your diet, even your cruda takes a backseat. Now the food. No overthinking needed here. Everything coming out of that truck is a straight up pow pow of flavor. The carne is cooked just right, juicy with that perfect char, and the corn tortillas are legit, soft but with enough structure to hold everything together. I ordered the Mamón and the Chingón, and honestly, both lived up to the names. No misses. And the agua fresca de fresa? That sealed it. They serve it in a little bolsita, which somehow makes it hit even better. Simple, nostalgic, and just cool. It's all tucked inside El Camino, which adds to the whole vibe, string lights, people hanging out, that easygoing outdoor feel where you lose track of time a little.

The smell alone made me think we were in for something special. We grabbed a couple of cocktails and ordered tacos, which seemed like the obvious choice. The tacos were good, but that's about where I'd leave it. They weren't bad at all, but they also weren't particularly memorable. With the aroma coming from the grill and all the recommendations I'd heard, I was expecting a little more flavor and a bigger wow factor. The atmosphere was fun, the service was good, and the charcoal grill definitely adds to the experience. I just found the food itself to be more "solid" than "spectacular." I'd rate it about a 7 out of 10. Worth trying if you're already at El Camino, but not a place I'd go out of my way for.

As a fellow citizen of H-town, we have a vibrant taco scene and I would put this place up there with some of my favorite spots I frequented in HOU. Each time I've been here, I've ordered between 8-9 tacos as they are each $2.50. I've gotten a combination of pastor, barbacoa, lengua, bistec, and cabeza. I can't really select a favorite cause they're all so delicious with the meats tender and juicy with a heaping sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Make sure you squeeze the lime on it and mix it with the radish/cucumber garnish they'll throw in there. And don't forget to throw on that green/red salsa they provide. Either eat there or get it to go (which is what I did). Fortunately the tacos travel well as they were still hot when I posted up at my hotel to grub. Don't be discouraged of the long line if you see one as it moves quick. You walk up and place your order, then pay afterwards. It's somewhat of an honor system but there is security present when I went there so that eased my concerns. For drinks, it's either soft drinks, water, or mineral water. No alcohol is served here so if you want margaritas/micheladas/beer, you'll have to go elsewhere for that. No doubt I'm returning next time I'm in SA. Viva Taquitos West SIDE!
