Now I recently started a new job in Des Plaines and this restaurant was like 2 minutes away. Terrible terrible terrible. Cheese fries were too soft. Steak and chicken meat on my tacos was barely seasoned and cold. They load the tacos with too much sour cream. Oh and keep in mind I ate my food in the restaurant so it shouldn't have been cold. This place is open 24/7 and is pretty clean inside. I ordered a steak burrito a chicken torta and 2 large horchatas. Burrito was drenched in a mystery fluid leaking from both ends of what smelled like peanut oil but I don't know. The horchatas were basically water with a hint of rice which actually makes it worse than water. The torta was dry and I asked for no tomato and there was tomato. Terrible TBK. I mean I know TBK is not exactly the epitome of great Mexican food but come on. The steak tacos I got were disgusting. Absolutely dripping with grease, but somehow cold. The guys behind the counter did not even look at me once while I was ordering, and I had to correct what he was inputting twice simply because he was not listening and paying attention to one of the guys behind him. I live down the street and was excited when they opened. My first attempt, there was no parking, finally I made it in and the line was out the door and I left. The second time I went around 2:00 and ordered 3 tacos and almost fell down when my bill was $8.00. I got home, and it was topped with a glob of ice cold sour cream and shredded cheese that wasn't even Mexican cheese. Now my tacos are cold, and the flour tortilla was hard and dry. Me and my husband went there to have dinner we had Super burrito king which is very big it is enough for 2 .The burrito was ok, but I asked for some extra black beans in it and I was charged for but when i got the burrito there was almost no beans. I have noticed his place is not clean at all. The dirty, greasy oil is everywhere it seems like they don't clean the tables and floor every day. The cashier was not friendly at all. On the next day Saturday(Jan 14th,2017) noon me and my husband went there to get something for to go he ordered and he was charged for a Super king burrito but when we got home there was a very small burrito which was probably medium size it was not even baked it was just plain tortilla . The young guy with light color eyes who took his ordered was so rude the way he was talking was so unprofessional using some slang gangster words and attitude. I've been going to various TBK locations for many years but had a bad experience going to the Des Plaines location. The Taco Burrito King website listed a monthly special quesadilla for $1.89, we ordered 2 on the phone as "the monthly special quesadilla" and when we get there after paying the bill we notice we were charged $2.75. Instead of correcting it the cashier tells us the special is old. This seems like fraud to me. Besides that we ordered extra sour cream on our burritos and were charged for it, when we got home there was definitely no extra sour cream. This is the least satisfying Taco Burrito King I've been to. read more

If Gordan Ramsay, had a show, on the WORST, franchise, fast-food restaurants, this would be in the, if possibly, the top of the ten, WORST. One star. Menu has too many options, food is NOT consistent, which is really sad, because there are three other Mexican restaurants, in Des Plaines, that can deliver, without paying $8+ for a half-done, burrito. So this place would get 0 stars if that was an option. Yelp you really need to make that an option and on that note a manager who couldn't have been out of her teens by the name of yavana (not sure of spelling) should definitely not be dealing with customer situation. I sent my daughter in to get food today January 13th let about 6:15 6:30 ish we were under the assumption when she read the menu about the fajitas well that they would be like normal fajitas your shells are on this side you have your peppers and onions and then your choice of meat. When the kids finally came home with the food and I started packing everything I can't find the fajitas we have an extra burrito but no fajitas so figured maybe they gave us the wrong order mixed up something I call and I tell them that there's no fajita in the back she got rude with me told me I had to bring all the food back we recently moved here and had never been there before until tonight. So with a torn ligament indie 15 below zero weather I Drive all the way back out 15 minutes to show her that there are no fajitas in the bank by now our food is ice cold and nasty so I get there and I asked her to please tell me where are the fajitas you gave Michele but no fajita Shanthi the whole bag goes through everything pulled out one of the extra burrito that we had and said this is a fajita to be honest we may have made a mistake on what was what cuz we've never been there but had she taken two minutes on the phone to explain to us we want to have been through all of this trouble I wouldn't have wasted 45 minutes of my time going all the way back up there and back she one of the lost the $50 sale of the night because we would have kept the food but after she made me drive it all the way back up there and it was ice cold, I wasn't going to eat it so I made her give us the money back. She began arguing with me then, like she was fighting with her mother she called me MOM! She told me to shut up , threatens me that she is going to call the police on me because I was being loud. And then offered no apology are even the slightest bit of remorse for all of the arguing and fighting she did with me I am the customer I am the reason you have a job hopefully after this review you don't anymore but I will definitely never be back to your restaurant... The good is not bad, cooked to order, good portions, good value. The main issue is this place is always dirty. The floors are always a mess, condiment station filthy and you have to walk around to find a clean table. If this is how they treat the eating area, what is the kitchen look like.
