Table number looked like it had food build up on it. Soda machine didn't look to be cleaned in a few days Tea was made but no cover on top of container. First cup I received had small leak. Second cup had much larger leak. Third cup no leak. Tacos were good. Can't mess up bean and cheese. Hope this place gets after the night crew for not cleaning correctly. Terrible Service!!! I went through the drive-thru last week one morning on my way to work, and the wait was literally just under 30 minutes! 30 MINUTES!!! To make matters worse, you get completely blocked in past a certain point, so I couldn't even leave the line.When I finally made it to the window, I was ignored for another 2 to 3 minutes. The employee finally approached me with zero greeting, zero explanation, and zero apologies for a 30-minute delay at a fast-food restaurant. When I asked why the wait was so long, she gave me major attitude, snapping, "Ummm, we're understaffed," as if I was just supposed to know. It would have benefited everyone if someone had actually come outside to inform the trapped customers. Who thinks that is an acceptable way to speak to a customer? Aaah Taco Cabana. My dear old friend. This is the only location left around me. Was in the area doing some shopping with my sister & dropped by for a quick bite. Since it was mid day on Wednesday, it was empty which was awesome! We ordered good ol Cabana bowls & $2 ritas. I noticed it was clean & didn't have that funky old smell. Lady working the front was nice & got our orders right. She gave us plenty of salsas without hassle. Which I for one appreciated. I'm so annoyed when you order food & it's like pulling teeth to get more than 1 ketchup, salsa, etc. Our food was fresh. We both got shredded chicken & it was tasty. Portions of meat, beans, rice, etc. were balanced. Not just a bunch of lettuce with a teaspoon of chicken. The $2 ritas weren't bad. Against family opinion I do eat here on the regular- however..today was the breaking point for me. A hair in my food. I've had warning, I've come thru the drive-thru and seen no hairnets, Nike jogging pants even used as uniform attire, even employees using their cell phones while prepping food- gloves you may be wondering?... haven't seen them in use, haven't even seen hand washing with the multiple visits I've made. We didn't ask or leave before this long because we were having good conversation in good company and honestly hadn't realized it had been as long as it had. Attached photos show the dirtiness of the restaurant that was there when we arrived and is still sitting there as we are about to leave...and this is AFTER someone has walked around with a trashcan and cleaning rag. This location made it quite obvious why today will be their last day. Came here on a cold Monday evening with my children after we found out the sad news and we got our classic favorites: 2 fajita taco combo with chips and queso and a small drink. We have always ordered this meal and I had it memorized but if it wasn't for that, you would never know what to ordered since even their menu was down when we got there which is understandable and not a factor of my experience since we knew what to order. We ordered our food, took our number and went to the salsa bar to pick our favorites: Red salsa, onions, pico de Gallo, Cilantro and that was literally it because they were scarce on their salsa bar options. Again, not a big deal since my favorite items were there just no salsa Verde, Jalapenos, limes and the brown salsa. We got our food sent to the table, it smelled delicious! We couldn't wait to open up those big ol' delicious tacos filled with mouth watering 100% all beef with a warm flour tortilla... we opened it and then... saw a puny little tortilla with 3 strips of Fajita beef! Yes THREE!! How in the world will I spend $25 on 3 meals that come with a small street taco with 3 little strips of meat and include a carbonated drink that costs them pennies to fill our cups, corn tortilla chips that also costs pennies and queso. I understand that businesses have to make money, they have rent, employers, utility bills, produce and everything else in between but if I had known that where they are cutting their costs is by sacrificing the portions, I was better off going to Taco Bell or perhaps the street tacos off HWY 6 and 290 and with all that drive...STILL END UP saving money. It honestly makes sense why they are shutting down this location, I am sadden by it since this was our local TC and I took it for granted since it just so happens that I have only been to the one near my job or the one near my parents since we ate that as a family gathering. Our food did take a little long but I figured it was due to their shorthand of staff since you know, the end of this location is near. (I believe it was closed yesterday). Will I visit another TC? Of course. Will I pay more attention to their portions, well why yes. I have a ritual with my son that on his last day of school we eat out at midnight. So this year it was Taco Cabana. The best last day of school dinner so far! Everything was awesome! Fajita steak nachos loaded all the way. The appetizer trio! This is our go to every single time. Quesadillas ,Taquitos and fajita nachos. In the last three weeks I've had poor customer service from this location. Three weeks ago I ordered two crispy chicken tacos and a mango strawberry margarita and the food was cold. I attempted to contact the store and the phone just rang and rang. I went in the next day and requested to have my food replaced. The manager was very rude and acted like she did not want to replace my food. One of the regular Employees had to make her replace the order. The same employee apologized for the service that I received the previous day and from the manager. Last week I ordered the same thing but i was charged for a burrito as well. I took that into the location and requested a refund. The manager took a long time so I left without confirming that she actually processed the refund. Yesterday I went to this Location again and placed the same order. I was told that I had to wait 10 minutes for the crispy taco shells. After waiting for 10 minutes my order was brought to the car and I drove off. It was then that I realized that I was given the ground beef tacos instead. I drove back to the location for them to correct my order. I contacted customer service to let them know about my last three visits. I called the store this morning to speak to a manager and she was very rude. She placed me on hold but hung up on me. When I called her back she argued with me that she did not hang up on me. I love to come into town and eat at my old favorite places form home. Taco Cabana was always on the rotation, until today. Came on Sunday at 9;30 with my mom after church. First impression was that the dining room was freezing! And I'm not a cold blooded person, I'm usually hot everywhere. When I mentioned how cold it was to the sweet cashier, she said, "Oh Yeah, it's always like that!" Not the answer I expected. No wonder the indoor patio was full, it was the only place that wasn't freezing. Then as I walked through and filled my drinks and got my sauces, I couldn't help but look around and notice how dirty the place was. It was 9:30 on a Sunday morning, how busy could they have been already. Dirty tables, gross door Windows and the floor! Don't get me started. No dine in, and there must have been 10 cars in the drive through, so I went in and found 6-8 people standing around inside and the only employee taking orders on the phone for 5 minutes or more. Horrible location! We stopped by this morning to find they have a limited menu. Not limited as in "short of food supplies." Limited as in no combo deals. We usually order the "Your Way" dozen breakfast tacos because the deal is a little cheaper but that's not available for some reason. You can still get any tacos you want but they have to be ordered individually. It seems to me that this location is using the COVID-19 as an excuse to alter their menu and force customers to spend more. The loophole of price gouging.
