The staff at this location of Taco Casa is the friendliest!! They make your visit fun and give true Texas hospitality! This has been my go-to fast food stop any time I'm in the hill country for 30+ years. I even ate here in my prom dress way back in the early 00's. The interior has always been the same charming 70s orange & yellow, yet never seems to age. It looks brand new every time I go year after year. It smells clean, the table's are always bussed, the food comes out fast, and it's ALWAYS consistent. You have to have a frijole cup on the side with whatever else you are getting. Their beans, finely shredded cheese, and their casa sauce is a perfect cozy blend, that'll make your eyes roll back. It's that good. Their hot sauce blows Taco Bell hot sauces out of the water. You'll want to grab an extra sauce or two to go. Love that the menu lists the calories, and is super streamlined and simple. And AFFORDABLE. You can have a filling, tasty meal on a tight budget. Food - nowhere, not even close to authentic Texican food. This was more like dorm microwaved-tacos; or made at home with processed burger meat that you get from a warehouse club. No offense, even though the portions were tremendously large, food-Quality borders on fast food, bargain tacos. The food is steam heated, which makes the tortillas border on chewy rubber consistency. It wasn't all that bad as it was fresh and hot. I was just disappointed being in Kerrville, Texas and eating non-authentic, steamed-burritos and processed taco shells... Service - very quick and nice employees. Again, definitely not authentic Texican cuisine, but nice and courteous for 3stars. They knew the menu and were able to make recommendations. Never really had a problem before today . I saw my food being made and the person making wasn't wearing any gloves. Touching the cheese and lettuce and then began touching other random bone food items. I asked the manager Cynthia and she said they "never wear gloves" and that she's been working there for years. I love the food at Taco Casa...It's a simple uncomplicated menu like Taco Bell had back before they became a restaurant chain (and you dined outside too). The water is filtered so the iced tea and sodas are good tasting. My favorite is the Taco Lite but every item on the menu tastes fresh. I've been going there (Sidney-Baker Location) for 10 years or so. Usually we buy the crunchy tacos. About a month ago we ordered our usual 6 tacos. They were very soggy and greasy and I could only eat 2 rather than the 3 that I normally eat. We quit going there, but yesterday we had a coupon for taco salad so we thought we would try them again. Big mistake, the meat tasted weird like they had cut it with refried beans or something. I did eat it all, but had severe diarrhea this morning. Never again. Awesome place! Whenever you have one of those days that you feel like Fast food Mexican and you are sick of taco bell, this is THE place to go! Actually I think it's better! The food is excellent ! The tacos are delicious! I have been told that the bean burritos are mediocre. Also they don't have chicken. Also the sweet tea is supposed to be PERFECT. I haven't tried it yet. I meet here with a group of friends every once in a while and we always have a great time. I have to say some of the employees have no sense of humor on the job which I don't really like. But the waiting time is AMAZING! I have never gotten food that good in such a fast time! The atmosphere is full of yellow and orange. Taco Casa is oddly satisfying. You know you're eating something terrible for your body, especially when it's ready 30 seconds after you order it. But when I go home, I usually make a stop here. The Super Nachos are my favorite thing but I have to go with a friend because it's SO huge. The Texas Taco is great too. I don't like black tea, so I don't care for the sweet tea but apparently it's the best ever? If you don't like it TOO sweet, you can do half-and-half and they don't get too upset. I'm pregnant and have been desperately craving TC lately, therefore, we've been there almost everyday for several months. The last several visits, we've had wrong food, stale chips and forgotten food. The food we have received has been carelessly put together- (no plastic wear, bean and cheese burritos with no cheese, no lid on the nacho cheese (resulted in a spill all over the rest of the food), (our son is severally allergic to cheese) we request no cheese on his tacos every time we order, have explained this to them each time and have them verify it back to us- every time we get home, his tacos are covered in cheese, which results in a second trip back to TC and much more. I would advise checking out the TC on Sidney Baker and not waste your time and energy with the TC on Junction Hwy. We've now given this TC quite a while to fix things and we're more disappointed each time. Needless to say, we won't be back to this TC until they get there stuff together. When I got to the hotel to eat I opened up my nachos and to my surprise they had put the liquid cheese in a plastic container so it wouldn't make my chips soggy.... Nice extra tough. I personally don't like the black olives on the Chelada, but that's my preference. Their tacos are amazeballs and their food is plentiful for what you pay. The wait time was excellent, and the service was good and friendly, but there is nothing else impressive about it. The food (Super Tacos and Burrito) were mediocre, at best. Crispy shells were stale and turned soggy quickly. Burrito was very salty. We bought 1 burrito and 5 Super Tacos for about $20.
