Taco Casa at Hwy 69 S.. what happened? We used to order great freshly made cheesy enchiladas and taco salad but last few visits very disappointed. The Taco salad crunchy bowl was really over fried to an uneditable gross dark brown with only a teaspoon of meat and all lettuce! Our enchiladas were dry hardly any cheese sauce and tasted old or defrosted and heated up! I pulled off the lump of wet shredded cheese on my taco. His taco burger was mostly lettuce The sweet tea was still good. If you're not going to fix the a/c dripping air vents overhead then at least move the tables so it doesn't drip on my head and food!! Management needs to step it up at this location. Pull up to pick up an order and no one was wearing their mask properly. I counted 4 employees with their mask worn below their chin; not covering their mouth or nose! This is UNACCEPTABLE and I'm sure its a health code violation! People need to take this COVID-19 seriously. Maybe they just don't understand the seriousness of this but AGAIN; I would not recommend no one eating here, especially today (07-12-20; 2030 hrs.) if you are concerned about your well being. I know these masks are uncomfortable especially working because I must wear one at the job but its a small sacrifice and a huge favor knowing safety precautions are taken for myself and others I may come into contact with! I've been eating at Taco Casa since I was a small child. Here is what I've learned about it. You will either love it, or you hate it. Its one or the other. I personally love it. There isn't much on the menu that I don't love. The sweet tea is more like a dessert than a drink. Its that sweet. The customer service is hit or miss. I've been there and had the sweetest people take my order, and then I've been in and had people be extremely rude. Fortunately the food is good enough to over ride any bad service. I am happy they have now added an extra hot option to the menu. I love my food spicy. And their regular hot really isn't all that hot. The best thing about Taco Casa is, its a local fast food joint. You can only get it here, and when all of my friends come in from out of town, its the first place they want to go. read more

Do yourself a favor and compare the food you get at the 15th street location to this one. It's night and day how much better 15th street is. The owners at this location are terrible. Years ago once had to take food back because it was not properly made. They threw away the food I had taken one bite out of and then refused to remake the food. The owner then personally called me and told me he told his manager to not remake my food and to throw me out. No apology. Years later I decided to retry this location. The food is terrible. They microwave your tacos and burritos and give you soggy tasteless food. Other locations have better owners who hire better employees and use better ingredients...hence the better food read more

I lovvvvvveeee taco casa! I have been eating here for about 20 years lol!!! You ain't from tuscaloosa if ya don't like taco casa! Taco casa is a million times better than Taco Bell and their fake meat!! I actually don't even eat Taco Bell anymore honestly! But back to taco casa, we actually eat here like 3-4xs a week! It can get expensive at times because I am a family of 5! But I have eaten pretty much everything on the menu at some point from the tacos, messy nachos, enchiladas,sanchos, beefy nachos, childas, taco burgers chili burritos and chimanupla (taco salad) ! But honestly I rarely eat the tacos anymore not because they aren't good but I just love other things more now lol ! But today i ate here and latey stuck on the taco salads which are about 6 bucks and are normally good but sometimes the shell can be a little burned and they are often WAY WAY TOO HEAVY HAND WITH THE LETTUCE and not as heavy with the 2 scoops of meat but it will fill ya up! Just ask for lite lettuce and extra meat but it will set ya back about 7$ lol but it's worth it and I ALWAYS ADD THIER MILD SAUCE !!! Or add the taco HOT SAUCE OR XHOT! Even tho it comes with picante sauce but to add taco casa extra sauce gives it a kick! I may just treat myself again tomorrow to taco casa again lol I know I will by Sunday lol but it's a simple place the menu hasn't changed much in the last 20 years and they do have a few combos you can get but i may have ordered those like 3xs but they DO NOT have specials or EVEN A KIDS MENU which is a con it's just what you see is what ya get but i suggest the chill burrito hot and messy nachos or beefy nachos! be prepare to spend a few dollars more if you are thinking it's like nasty Taco Bell and GET the SWEET TEA!!! Can't say enough good about this Taco Casa!! I got into a drive-through line this afternoon w/about 5 cars between me and the menu/order speaker. Zip... Zip... ZIP!! I'm at the speaker, place my order and pick it up within 30 minutes!! For those unfamiliar w/drive-throughs in Tuscaloosa: MOST of them are 5 - 10 cars deep when you get in line and you're in line for at *least* 45 minutes! So I just walked into this place with 20 people, mostly kids. They were busy but attentive. They got all of our food perfect on the first try and never made me feel about about taking half the restaurant. We ate most of the menu and loved it all. Great place, good food, better people. I just learned about this Yelp app and what you can actually do on here.... So this taco casa on 69 south, about a month or so ago... Roommates and I ordered food and brought it home, one of my roommates granddaughter (6 years old) bit into her taco and ended up biting into a fake eyelash. Of course we called and told them about it. And they asked her to bring it up to location and said they would have a store wide meeting with employees and that was it. I also have to agree with another lady on here that their food does smell like cleaning supplies. And I have not ran into a friendly face in there. I stopped going to this one. Couple of other locations I've gone to late at night maybe 30 minutes before closing and order my usual extra hot enchilada and the cheese is cold... like they were already putting good away... Just hoping no one would order anything else before actual closing time. Also they don't put hot sauce in their enchiladas like they use to. Food just isn't what it used to be.... It used to be awesome! When you order a tea with their famous extra ice, I don't think employees know what extra ice means. I have been eating Taco Casa food since high school. This is the only place I could eat at every day because I practically love everything on the menu.
