    2 beef enchiladas combo
    Ed F.

update: wanted to see if the prices were still higher than their other locations and if the food quality is the same or different. ordered two beef enchiladas. enchiladas were filled with ground beef. with side of rice and beans. Sides were the same and the beef enchiladas were decent. Price point for a non sit down establishment is still a little higher. but it is convenient. For a few dollars more, El Nov's on franklin blvd would be better.

Taco Express has one of the best Taco Tuesday deals in town. The Tuesday special is any crunch taco for $1.50 each. Choose from shredded beef, ground beef, or chicken. Prices recently increased to $1.50 as they use to be $1.00 for the longest time. But with inflation everything has gone up. Best time to go off peak hours especially after work as there's a super long line. Still a great value for a meal deal!

When we pull up to the parking lot everyone was so confused. The parking lot is for the taco truck. You order at the taco truck then they bring the food to you. . The building inside is just a bathroom and some tabels for you to sit in. The inside isn't anything fancy. It wasn't cool enough for a hot day, but it was fun because there was a bunch of us there. . We all took advantage of the 1.50 tacos and we had the beef and chicken tacos crispy of course. We all loved the tacos. The shells were crispy and wasn't cooked in old oil. They gave us plenty of salsa too. Simple comfort crispy tacos. . Overall we loved the vibe and taco tues was a success. This location is different from the rest. But all taco express has the same 1.50 crispy taco deal. Hope this review helps and thanks for reading. Have a yelptastic day.

Street taco the meat is ok.

I encountered a hidden fee for different types of meat that wasn't listed on the menu. The prices vary depending on your meat choice; for example, ground beef is $1 on Taco Tuesday, but if you select another type of meat, the price increases. Since it was my first time there, I didn't have a chance to read any reviews, which might have helped I found the layout a bit confusing because the taco truck serves as the kitchen, and I initially thought it was separate from the dining area. The truck is called Taco Express Kitchen, but the building is meant for dining in. They do have a sign for takeout, but it can still be misleading. I ordered a crispy taco with asada and an al pastor street taco. The flavor of the meat was okay, but I'm not sure about the burrito yet; I might give it another try. I was the only one in the drive-thru, and the service was good. Overall, I'm still processing the experience.

This is our new spot for tacos!!! I love it!! They're generous with their portions. I ordered street tacos & it was delicious. We sat inside. We ordered outside at the truck. Carinas brought our food & her service was awesome. She's friendly & welcoming. This is definitely our new favorite spot!!!

This is only a review for the taco Tuesday tacos. We ordered 6 of these and when I tell you there was so little meat, we damn near needed a magnifying glass to locate it. Basically we got lettuce and taco shells as you can see. I will stick to the nugget or el pollo loco for taco Tuesday for now on. The Nachos here are FIRE so I will be back just not for tacos

TLDR: Food flavor: Better than the best known local Mexican fast-food chain Prices and quality: Slightly higher than the competition Customer service/operations: Needs work After a long day of hiking in the Bay Area, I was famished. I had been planning to eat in Berkeley, but thought, South Sac has great food, why not just try another new place closer to home? By the time I was driving by Taco Exxpress, I couldn't wait anymore. I was intrigued by the taco truck in the driveway of the taqueria with "drive through now open" signs, so I pulled in. Had I realized that this was the same chain as the taqueria that replaced the Taco Bell on Iron Point in Folsom, I might have made a different decision, but I didn't figure that out until after I had paid. Basically, the taco truck was attempting to function as a drive-through restaurant, while simultaneously operating as a walk-up taco truck. It's unclear whether the brick and mortar restaurant was even open, or was just being used as seating for the taco truck, but it seemed like everyone was ordering from the truck. As I was waiting for my food, two people picked up phoned-in to-go orders from the truck window, while another walked up to order, and then stood around to wait. A young stoner came out of the taco truck to take my order. I had a lot of questions, which he answered curtly. He may have just been having a bad day, or maybe he was just really stoned, but he seemed annoyed by my questions. I finally decided to order the 3 rolled tacos with beef, and asked for a cup of water. He told me my total, but I didn't notice until later that he had charged me $3 for a bottled water. Pet peeve: As anyone who knows me or who has been reading my reviews for a long time would know, I've worked in the restaurant industry for most of my life. Even in fine dining, I would clarify whether or not someone meant to order bottled water before charging them. Plus, when you ask for a cup of water in a fast food drive through, it's usually free, right? Or maybe like, a quarter. I was not expecting to purchase a bottled water. I had actually ordered water because I didn't feel like paying for a drink, but if I had known I was paying for a drink, I would have gotten a different one-- probably a tamarind Jarritos. I had asked if the taquitos came with guacamole, and they did, and it was good. But, there wasn't very much of it, and, for some reason, what little they gave me was mostly placed underneath the taquitos. I guess the amount of guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, and cheese was fair enough, but most fast-food Mexican restaurants I've been to pile it on a lot higher. That being said, the flavor was better than the competition. The beef itself was noticeably flavorful. The lettuce, cheese, and sour cream were all very fresh. The cashier hadn't asked me if I wanted sauce, but he brought me two red, and two green. I prefer green, but I tried both, and loved them both. Again, the flavor was better than the competition. I was annoyed by what felt like less than stellar customer service, but still thought the tacos were pretty good. As far as the quantity of food I received versus the price I paid, they were definitely on the expensive side. This restaurant has a few operational kinks to work out, but the food is worth trying.

The Reese's Blizzard was excellent too: thick, loaded with peanut butter cup pieces, and mixed perfectly. That's the reason most people (including me) keep coming back--Desserts are consistently great here. On the flip side, the burger was a miss this visit. It came way over-sauced with mustard--dripping everywhere, making it super messy and soaking the bun quickly. The whole thing tasted a little off, like the patty wasn't fresh or had been sitting too long. Fries were average at best, nothing memorable. Overall, if you're stopping by for Blizzards, cones, or shakes, it's a solid choice and worth it. But I'd skip the burgers next time unless you're just craving the ice cream fix. Fair 3 stars--the sweets carry the experience.

We ordered the infamous chocolate dipped cones along with a snickers and birthday cake blizzard, and the desserts were just as good as I remembered. They even did the upside down Blizzard trick, which made my kids smile. The fries were served fresh and hot and my son enjoyed the chicken strips. Surprisingly they even came with a piece of toast. The only downside is the drive thru. We have gone three times now, and each visit the wait has been very long. It usually looks like they only have one or two employees, and even when there are two, only one seems to be taking orders and making the desserts while the other stands by. With a little better staffing or teamwork, the line could move much faster. The area feels a bit sketchy, with some homeless individuals nearby, and there is often a lot of trash and food debris around the perimeter of the building. That's why we only choose the drive thru. We will definitely come back for ice cream treats when we are in the area, but I really wish the wait time was shorter and the exterior was kept cleaner.

The owners and the cashier are very nice and welcoming people. Don't be foolish and let the dated outside fool you, this spot is a lovable local gem! The server/cashier came to check on me multiple times, which truly emphasized their care for their customers. The food came relatively quick for I only had to wait about 5-ish minutes. I loved the chicken teriyaki bowl that I ordered, which came with tsukemono, a simple and deliciously refreshing cabbage topping. The food was straight forward, yet delicious and full of flavor, the chicken was quite tender as well. The way they prepared the chicken in thin-julienne-like cuts was unique and allowed the teriyaki sauce to cover more surface are, truly fusing the grilled umami flavor of the neatly cooked chicken with the dark and flavorful teriyaki sauce.
