I used to love coming to this place specially they used to open really late till like 130 or 2 AM after the club loved it. They still have the best grilled chicken burrito or tostada. Everything in our menu is pretty good. I think hands-down this might be so far the best taco shop, but I can be wrong. Service is always OK.

Breakfast burritos are fire !! They were huge! Great deal for the price. We will be coming back to try other items. Service was fast and friendly.

Updated menu photos! Please check out the menu. Highly recommend them. I had the california burrito last night and it satisfied my hunger and craving.

Carne asada quesadilla with sour cream and guacamole on the side

Wanted to try a new place and stumbled upon this taco shop. The service was very fast and food tasted good. The carne asada was very tender and tasty. The deluxe carne asada quesadilla I ordered came with guacamole and sour cream on the side. I ordered to go and I was a bit disappointed when I opened the styrofoam box and the sour cream was a little runny and on my quesadilla which made it a bit soggy. The carne asada fries were good and we asked for extra crispy fries, they were cooked perfect.

We stopped here to get some late night food after I traveled for work today. The place is always clean and the staff is always customer service oriented. We ordered a Daily Special # 7 (1 tostada, 1 taco, & 2 Rolled tacos) and a Pollo Asada Burrito. We got home and started to eat. The pollo asada burrito had salsa fresca and guacamole and was good. Unfortunately, my 2 rolled tacos were not good. The meat inside was spoiled and the taste was super obvious. The tostada & taco were OK. I called them to let them know that the rolled tacos meat was bad, so that they would not serve that batch (probably frozen), to someone else. This is a great place to eat, and sometimes these things happen, so the right thing to do is to let them know that your food is not good. We will still try them out again.

5 rolled tacos with everything. I called in order and did was ready when I arrived. My first time there, but looks like a solid track shop.

Came here in between running errands and I was thoroughly impressed! Small mom and pop place but big on flavor! You order from the counter and you pick up your food. I got the pollo asada burrito, it was very flavorful, fresh and enough to feed two adults. I also got a bag of chips. Crispy, crunchy and fresh. This place is authentic, nothing fancy or flashy about the decor so they an focus on tasty food from flavor town! Standard fountain drinks with the horchata flavors available. Prices are very reasonable. Less than ten dollars for most items. Good for groups and plenty for free parking. If I am back in this area I will definitely return.

8$ Breakfast burrito Egg potatoes & cheese

The taste was average the service was average small space to eat and I would want to pay 8$ again for this.. One tip for this add thicker potato , egg cheese, sour cream, cilantro with a splash of lime and the flavor will be more towards 9$ burrito.

    Toothpick that was in burrito!

I use to come here a lot but tonight is the last night. My son just spit out a toothpick that was in his California burrito. Nasty aF. I threw out the rest of the order and will not give this to my pregnant wife. Will be reporting to Food Health inspectors after this.

    Five Rolled Taco Combo
    Jack M.

I stopped by here for a quick meal and ordered their five rolled taco combo with rice and beans for $5 and some change. The meal looked good when it arrived (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taco-fiesta-2-san-diego?select=2XEWp9BCyl9rhV212FYgFw#2XEWp9BCyl9rhV212FYgFw), but it had a strange sent, and I quickly realized that the hot rolled tacos had burned and melted the styrofoam container (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taco-fiesta-2-san-diego?select=2XEWp9BCyl9rhV212FYgFw#PxQeueZ_l52DeCFZEuiXyQ), so I would suggest they put a layer of wax paper on the bottom to prevent melting. After, melted styrofoam does not taste very good, not to mention it's probably not very good for you. After avoiding the melted styrofoam, the rolled tacos were okay and I liked the addition of cotija cheese on top, always a fan of that (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taco-fiesta-2-san-diego?select=2XEWp9BCyl9rhV212FYgFw#Vpgz547bgglkWYq35X2HIg). They had a crunchy shell with an average amount of pretty good tasting shredded beef (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taco-fiesta-2-san-diego?select=2XEWp9BCyl9rhV212FYgFw#yvNsIF-mZyOJf0Ku_m5K5Q). The guacamole was okay and so were the rice and beans. The rice was the better of the two, with its fluffiness and good flavor (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taco-fiesta-2-san-diego?select=2XEWp9BCyl9rhV212FYgFw#zV_fEqNyrk1_lya0VtJ_ug). The re-fried were okay. They tasted a little over cooked and not as fresh I would of liked (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/taco-fiesta-2-san-diego?select=2XEWp9BCyl9rhV212FYgFw#EsjQ757A0lEQy6h7rc_uPQ). Overall, I have to admit I have had a better meal. The melted styrofoam on one of the rolled tacos was not pleasant, so I really ate four....unless it's a new food group, I dunno...

I honestly love this place when it comes to rolled tacos!!! I come in here every now and then when I am craving rolled tacos.. They are SO YUMMY AND FRESH. This is the only place I will get rolled tacos from. I know it's on the bland side, but when you eat it with hot sauce, it tastes just right! Crunchy and fresh tasting. I LOVE IT. Another food choice I get here is their breakfast burrito!! With eggs, sausage and potatoes. It is SOO yummmmmmyyyyy. I even get it for dinner sometimes lol. Their carne asada fries and carne asada burritos/Cali burritos are ok. I only got their carne asada fries TWICE and never again. It just doesn't taste that good... The fries are usually soggy.. So I stay away from those.. Their CARNE ASADA flying saucer salad is amaaaazzzinnng! They give you you a lot! I love how they give you a bottle of hot sauce.. They don't ever complain or give you a mean look when you ask for more hot sauce to go or anything. Very sweet staff. I know this place does need to remodel but hey.. Not everyone has the funds to do so.. I just come for the yummy food (:

I picked a place off Google but when we landed there we were not comfortable stopping to park, so we looked again and decided to check out La Puerta not realizing it was in the Gaslight District. I am not a fan of the Gaslight District, which is why I am so mad!! I'm going to HAVE to go back to the Gaslight District!! The food was AMAZING!! I HIGHLY recommend the Potato Flautitas. It's the kind of dish I'm going to dream about, I'm salivating now just thinking about them. I also did the Pick 3 Street Tacos (and actually ordered a 4th). The Ranchero Shrimp and Grilled Veggie were top notch. The Conchinita was recommended by our waiter, and it was interesting, tasty but different. It could have used a little more pickled onion. The only one I would not recommend (shockingly, I thought it would be the easy pass) was the carne asada. It was too greasy. My husband ordered a carne asada quesadilla and said the same, it was too wet and soaked through the tortilla. But there were no many other delightful options, I would say just don't go traditional. But honestly my favorite thing on the plate was the side dish rajas con crema, seriously, that alone is going to drag me down to the Gaslight District. I'm even considering going to a Padres game just for the excuse. I'm salivating again! As for our waiter, Colin, he was fantastic. Very informative, made great suggestions and seemed genuinely pleased by our satisfaction. He was smiling the whole time, friendly and stayed very present. I highly recommend you get yourself through the door at La Puerta and sit down for a meal ASAP. (We ate the food so fast I forgot to take pictures.)
