I went her many times when I lived here 5 years ago and I loved the Mexican flavors. I went here last night and seems like the management has changed. I ordered a beef taco and a spicy chicken taco. The chicken taco had heavy curry spices that didn't go with a taco. I love curry and Indian food, but this flavor was awful. If you're going to change recipes and use Indian inspired recipes, you should probably add Indian fusion to your signage. If you fix the recipes, you may have a winner. In addition, change the guy taking the orders. You don't spit on the floor while taking a food order. I don't care if he was spitting into a bucket. That is just nasty. read more

Unsure what has changed, but the food is not as good as it use to be. I would always go to Taco Hut once a week, but it seems like something changed several months ago. The food seems a little off unsure why. We are moving out of lewisville but happy when the food was good at Taco Hut. I can say the employees are always nice and clean while preparing the food, so that is a plus. The seated area could use some improvements, though. This was a door dash order that arrived poorly wrapped meal and outside bag opened also where food could be accessed before delivery. I did a private review to be seen only by DoorDash and the store however there was no response from either on providing a credit so I'm now doing a public review. I wanted to give both parties a chance to make this right via a credit which did not happen. I suggested that the condiments be package separately before placing in with the meal and outside bag be taped or someway so drivers don't have access to the meal. The shell was soggy of course as you can see from the picture. Hope to give them another try but I'll call the store after any orders to make sure food safety is followed before delivering. First time and was not disappointed, the food was really good. The beef had lots of flavor and very tender, lots of onions and cilantro. If that not making your mouth water! I don't know what else I can do for ya hahahaah. They have a huge menu and prices are ok my meal was a lunch special with three tacos (corn or flour) and drink for like 9 dollars. Was disappointed when I opened the box to no rice or beans which is ok just made me very sad. It's in a gas station and from the outside your like dang this better be worth it!! Out of the three tacos I tried, barbacoa was a bit too greasy but steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked. I'd get three steak tacos next time. I loved the grilled onions that came with the tacos. The red sauce was packed with heat so I could only add a few drops at a time. Obviously the food prices have gone way up, food is still tasty and quickly served once ordered. I stopped going to Taco Hut because the food ordered was short a burrito and 1 of the guys in our group didn't get to eat, good thing he was going home soon. I called back right away and they said they'd take care of it the next visit. I returned the next day and was told to talk to the store manager, long story short they didn't honor their mistake and gave me the run around while doing so...so I decided not to spend my money there anymore. I've been going there since 2013 when the burritos were $4 each and up to $10 and up each now. Collectively as a group of 4-8 of us from work, we've spent close to $75-$125 a month there with me doing all the food runs. They pretty much know me when I go there and that's only the 3rd time I've had a complaint of missing food since going there. The food is still the same, but there are other places with food just as good or better that treat loyal customers with respect and not lie to them over a mistake made by their staff. I wrote all that to say, Taco Hut management will not receive money from me anymore, and if anyone has a good hole in the wall Mexican spot open late nights let me know. Thanks read more

If I wasn't really hungry I would have left a long time ago. This place has truly gone downhill. I remember when I used to drive from Carrollton here to get tacos at 2 and 3 in the morning. Initial contact: there are two windows you can order from. One outside and one inside. Ordering outside is fairly quick. Once done you pay and get your ticket number. Then you wait...wait...and wait.. The reward: double soft corn tortillas with meats of: chicken, fajitas, and fish. The meats were not dry and had decent flavor is compliment mild tortillas. Just top with onions, cilantro, and drops of lime for finishing flavors. Sauces are provided and NOT a fan of either. Results are I would come back if I was willing to wait. Otherwise there are alternate establishments that dish out food much faster. Willing to wait? Live in the area? Give it a chance. read more

I visited the Taco Hut today for breakfast tacos. I ordered chorizo/egg and potato/egg takeout. I have eaten hundreds of tacos, both good and bad. These were the worst breakfast tacos I have ever had. The eggs were very dry, like they were leftovers and reheated. No beans on the breakfast tacos also, which added to the dryness. In addition, the tortillias were not browned and cold. The assistance was subpar and seemed to be having a bad day, which could be the root of this problem. Same woman working window last time was working again today and I saw her try and steal money from the customer in front of me. She told him his total was 25 something and he said no and added it up aloud and said it should be 17 something. She said no and he asked her to readd it again and she then said magically (without recalculating) yes it was 17 something. That's a big difference not just like a dollar obviously he was frustrated. Got 2 breakfast burritos and was told breakfast was from 6-11 and it was 5 til and I was told I would be charged an extra dollar per burrito because breakfast was over...Also the potatoes were different they looked like French fries and were really hard. Won't be coming back due to horrible customer service Previous review: Stopped by for breakfast tacos this morning and am very happy to say they were delicious and the salsa was ON POINT!! The potatoes were cooked fully through, there was plenty of thick bacon and lots of cheese. Mind you I had to pay 35¢ for each add on. The tacos originally come with only egg and your choice of meat. I nixed the egg on mine. That's where one star comes off. The woman and I at the counter went back and forth for more than 5 minutes trying to get my order correct. Two tacos w/bacon, nix the egg add cheese and potatoes. She kept telling me "no only egg" like it was required because it came with eggs. (Even though they were made to order not premade, so I was having a hard time understanding why this was so hard to do) I kept explaining that the menu says you can add "cheese, rice, potatoes, or beans...35¢/each" So I would like to do that and would gladly pay the 35¢ per extra topping per taco. And she proceeded to still tell me I had to have egg, and when I would say no egg she would just stand there looking at me confused then shake her head no. I got in and ordered two fajita and one chicken street taco. Surprising they have a huge menu with a bunch of other things than tacos. I'm gunna have to come back and try some. They're also open 24/7 so it's perfect for when you're craving tacos at 4am. Now for the tacos! They were pretty good. Street tacos usually taste good drunk but these tasted amazing sober. I used to pass this place on Business121 almost everyday on my way to work before I started using the new 121 Tollway (not new anymore now). One reason I wanted to try is the high Yelp rating. To be honest, not a whole lot of eating places along this business route earn a 4-star rating. Just to try it out, I ordered my favorite tacos, barbacoa and lengua (cow tongue). The barbacoa was good - tasty and moist with a nice beef flavor. The lengua meat was very tender and seasoned slightly. I liked it. I've had lengua in other places, which was quite plain and dry. They also gave dropped some chopped onions, green onions, and cilantro, plus a big jalapeño on the side. This thing is hot! So be cautious. They also put up a promotional poster for fish tacos. I ordered one. But it was not good. The fish was bland and dry - nothing close to what I had before. This is a shop inside a convenience store. There are a few tables, so you can dine inside. If you're in a hurry, you can also order at a window outside. It's open 24 hours, so you can have tacos any time. And you can't beat.
