The coffee was made fresh to order. The staff was attentive to the order. The house salsa was excellent with roasted garlic highlighting the flavor. The beans were ok nothing spectacular. The rice was good, however a little heavy-handed with the cumin. Enchiladas were good: could use more sauce with flavor. I have frequented over the years. The one noticeable thing were the portions . They have replaced the oval plates with platters designed with a "bowl appearance." I would imagine to help the plate look more full. Best advice is to turn in a gas station and proceed to the parking area behind it. it parking tricky since it's up against the freeway in Valley Boulevard tends to be divided by a concrete island. A Taco Treasure for over 50 Years! We have been coming to Taco Joe's Mexican Restaurant for well over 50 years, and it has always been a wonderful experience--but today was truly something special. We were celebrating my husband's birthday, and from start to finish, everything was above and beyond. The Queen Size Deluxe Burrito--a longtime favorite--never disappoints. It's always packed with flavor, generous in size, and cooked to perfection. But today I noticed something new on the menu: Quesabirrias Tacos. Wow! If you are a fan of birria, you must try them. These tacos are out-of-this-world delicious--crispy, cheesy, and filled with juicy, flavorful meat. They're a new favorite for sure! Cuca, the owner, is absolutely fabulous. She's always there with a warm smile and goes out of her way to make sure everyone leaves happy and full. Her pride in the restaurant shows in every dish and detail. Mary, our server today, was phenomenal. Attentive, kind, and truly went the extra mile to make our celebration special. My friends and I had our last outing of the year the day we had lunch here. I missed the entrance, initially (the place is next to, and, kind of behind, a Chevron). I should've made a U-turn down the road, and doubled back, but followed the directions on my navigation app, and went on I-15, which took me to an off-ramp that dropped me off...right next to the sign for...Taco Joes... The place was busy, which told me the place was a solidly popular place to eat. Inside, the walkways were kind of narrow, but, you can pass someone easily. Noise level was typical for a busy restaurant. The booths were, not cramped, but, cozy, from what I saw(my friends and I had our own private section). Our section had a long banquet table, with chips & salsa at the ready, and menus were available right then and there. The servers were nice, and were right there with refills for our beverages. I ordered the burrito bowl with carne asada, while one of my friends ordered the carnitas, and another of my friends ordered the chimichangas. The burrito bowl I ordered had the best carne asada I've ever tasted! Anytime a dish causes you to raise your eyebrows, you know it's that good. There were enough ingredients piled onto, and into, my entree that I could(and did) get a bit creative, and do the chip & dip with the chips & salsa. Did I mention that the chips were homemade? Because they were warm whenever we got more. The salsa was delicious, as well. I'm a chunky salsa kind of guy, but was pleased with both the chips and salsa. Overall, we were all pleased with our food, and, the next time we're in the area, Taco Joes is getting our business! read more

They also have strawberry margs but it just depends on what you like! I raised the concern and the manger automatically took my meal from me and ran to the kitchen stating get out I'm not gonna sell it to you, go somewhere else. What a way to waste food and get rid of a customer who was willing to pay 26.95 for a small shrimp burrito.
