I'm giving this one three stars, because I was actually pleasantly surprised for a chain-beer-wings place. I walked in with low expectations, we wanted something quick and close by. For you vegetarians, the veggie quesadilla was pretty darn good. That's understandable for a place that has never won "fastest restaurant in Chattanooga" BUT the 20+ seating outside that's openly available but the servers are "too busy to give you good service" is absolutely unacceptable. So weird to see so many bad reviews here. Friend and I were in town for work and took a late afternoon walk down riverfront and ended up here for drinks/dinner on 2/18/2016. We enjoyed it greatly and big plus that it was within walking distance of our hotels. Shining star - wings. Roasted to be specific. We tried the honey chipotle, medium, mild and lemon pepper. Lemon Pepper was our favorite. Guac was fresh but needed a little salt, so we took care of that at the table. Loss of star: I ordered three margaritas, frst two were excellent, then bar tender shift change and third was terrible and COMPLETELY different from the first two. Friend, same experience - first two were great, her third had to be remade it was so bad. Funny thing was, new bartender had gotten some award while we were there... not sure what it was for because she was horrible. Husband and I are planning a trip down in a few weeks for fun and the wings are on our list of things to do. Unfortunately "Taco Mac" has been re-branded as "T Mac" and has become an insufferable, understaffed sports bar with a TV in your face no matter where you are sitting. Food was good. Dining with four teenage boys at the round table was fun for them, since the tables (and the seating) can be spun. I gave this restaurant three stars because usually it would be five due to the great cold beer and hot wings, but my last visit was definitely a one star meal. After a 20 minute wait , our server arrived with my husbands beer and a declaration that they were out of my selection. Why didn't he tell me that earlier? Then after another 25 minutes or so, he arrived with the food. Or rather, my husbands food as he dropped my plate a foot from the table. I am bit of a beer connoisseur and have been frequently visiting when in town for business due to the amazing selection they have on draft. Unfortunately my last few visits have been extremely lack luster. The service at the bar has definitely declined as well as the knowledge of the bartenders. The gentleman that was serving me seemed much more interested in flirting with the waitresses than paying attention to his customers. The music is loud, the TVs are louder, and the last time I was there, the fire alarm kept going off intermittently. Since it had been doing that for three hours, it would have been sporting of the hostess to announce that before she led us to a table. In addition, the fire department had given up responding or trying to locate the problem, and the vendor had been called in. Apparently from Mars. Also, I don't know how they managed to make tacos so bad. I've never before or since experienced food that was so spicy it burned your nose while still being nearly tasteless. I have also tried the taco salad, which is okay (the ranch dressing helped) but also seems to be covered in jalepeno dust and onions. Maybe the problem is that I don't really drink all that much, and this restaurant is geared more towards the college crowd. I wouldn't take kids there after maybe 6 or 7 pm. The only good thing about taco mac is the hotness of the servers. They tend to hire college kids from the nearby campus and they are usually easy to look at for the most part. My company placed a Doordash order for a quesadilla platter and fried catfish tacos. Not only did the Doordash driver try and harass my boss for a better tip (he had already tipped more than 20%), but Taco Mac gave us the quesadillas and an order of plain wings. I called the restaurant and explained their mistake to the manager on duty. He apologized and offered to replace the wings with the tacos we originally ordered. However, since it was a Doordash order and there were no drivers available, we had to go out of our way and pick them up from the restaurant ourselves. Even so, I asked for the slaw and the cheese to be left off of the tacos as I am lactose intolerant, only to find that once I finally did get them, they did have cheese. Since it had been about an hour since we ordered, I decided to just suck it up and eat them. While I am grateful that Taco Mac refunded us and Doordash gave us a credit for the incident, I am still very disappointed overall with my experience. I have been dining in regularly at Taco Mac for the past three years, but I have never had as bad an experience with them until now. It will definitely be a while before I eat there again. read more

I didnt get into town until 9:30 pm on a Thursday night. Was not the place I was looking for they closed at 9. Walked by and the place was almost half full inside. So it has to be a good place. The typical chains were empty inside. I sat at the bar and was impressed with all the draft beer choices. The taps ran the entire length of the bar. Ordered the grilled shrimp and mango tacos. Taco Mac is an adequate place to watch a game on Saturday and Sundays and have satisfactory food. The wait makes this place not worthwhile sometimes but they do have a good beer selection on tap and you could do worse. It's definitely comparable with the other sports bars (such as Buffalo Wild Wings) whether in price, food or atmosphere. Long and behold everybody else's order was ok but mine was supposed to be a chicken Hollywood meal. Just ate lunch there and it was delicious! The Greek Mediterranean wrap was large and had tons of hummus. I had sweet potato fries on the side and they were the best fries I had in a long time. I would definitely eat there again. The hostess and waitress were friendly and helpful. The interior was good & the beer selections were fantastic, but we never got to try anything. We waited for almost 10min for a hostess to acknowledge us. Servers walked by as they carried dishes to the kitchen, employees stood in a cluster in the kitchen doorway, one sat on a barstool, yet no one came to seat us. We ended up seating ourselves at a long table in the middle of the restaurant. There were more people in our group of 10 than in the whole restaurant.
