It was the first time I had been to Taco Mac. I had been told this was a "pick up place", boy was I pleasantly surprised by the friendly atmosphere. I went there to meet a buddy, and we sat at the bar. The bar was clean and tidy. The bartender had a relaxed style of attentiveness, but she was not a bartender that hovered constantly, making a kind of pest of herself. I ordered two street tacos, and they were good. The lettuce was crispy, the meat was cooked hot, and the cheese melted perfectly. The highlight of the place was the vast beer selection on tap. They have about 200 beers to choose from and about 70 on tap. They were evenly priced, and served in clean glasses. It has to be said that I don't frequent bars; however, this experience has made me start to rethink it! This isn't a dreary bar with scores of depressing patrons that has an unwelcome ambiance, for this is an inviting restaurant and bar establishment. I am planning to go back when I find some time! We like to occasionally head to this location, as it generally has a better selection of beers than our Woodstock location. However, we've had a couple problems so far in the past year (2 out of the 4 times we've gone here). First was when we sat down all set for a late night beer and their app would not launch, no matter what phone we used, of which we tried three different models. It was a terrible discovery that this location completely relies on their app for their drink menu and ruined the evening - no selection to choose from and no pricing. We left and we looked back to see the waiter was visibly upset - not at us, but the fact the app apparently hadn't worked all day and he was not able to make any money at all. The last time we went the food took 30-40 minutes to get (after asking twice). When it finally arrived, the waiter never came back to see if we needed anything - like ketchup for the fries. Finally gave up and ate the plain fries cold with my burger and we left. Was nice that he at least took a small percentage off the food part. Otherwise, I'd be dropping this review down to two stars. read more

Being generous with 3 stars. Table was sticky with something that would not come up with just the wet rag they used. Place felt less than clean. Food so so. We asked for our burgers to be medium rare, which the waitress had told us was an option. WELL done!!!! She never came back to ask how the food was until the end of the meal. Phoned in an order last night. Arrived a little bit early and just paid my bill and waited at the bar. While there, a number of call in orders were put near the call in window but the three bartenders were more concerned with talking and laughing than looking to serve customers. Finally, one came over and said "oh, your order is here". Once we got home (1.5 M away) the Queso was almost solid. The Philly Cheese steak bun was at least 3 - 5 days old. This was a restaurant that I used to enjoy going to, but times change and something has definitely gone awry at this Taco Mac location. We always loved to sit at the bar, drink some PBR and eat wings and it was always awesome. NO MORE! Bartenders are more concerned about looking at the floor to avoid making any kind of eye contact and when we were there this past Saturday, THE WINGS WERE LUKEWARM AT BEST. Just awful! Tasted fair, but cold wings?? come on... We kept trying to get someone's attention to complain but, even though the bar was maybe half full, no ever checked on us, even when we were out of beer. We decided to just pay and leave. And guess what, WE WILL NEVER BE BACK! There are way too many good wing spots in NW Atlanta to put up with that crap. Note to Taco Mac bartenders: The people sitting in those stools on the other side of the bar are paying your salaries and are there to enjoy themselves. I love this location... I truly do, and I've been coming here for many years, but recently I have been coming less and less. Or worse yet leaving the restaurant after arriving, and that reason has everything to do with a particular bartender. She is literally the rudest individual I've met and I cant believe she works in Hospitality. It's gotten to the point where when I come in I pray she isnt there and if she is I usually consider leaving. I usually dont post about servers on Yelp but when u dont want to go to ur local restaurant bc u know that u will receive rude and ugly service it has become a problem. The times where my order came out overcooked or I sat for an extended amount of time waiting just to be acknowledged just runs me wrong. She literally didnt care that my food was overcooked and blamed on the late night kitchen. Used to love this place...I get frequent take out here. Lately, it's always a toss up as to how my food will taste (no consistency). I always get steamed broccoli as my side and it's had a few completely raw pieces in it the past two times. It's also hit or miss on the friendliness of the employee who takes my order. As always, the food was fantastic. However, our server wasn't so great. When we got ready to leave, we handed her what we owed, as well as the tip, and told her that we didn't need any change. My husband made a mistake and didn't look at the right number, so we gave her a $3.00 tip, thinking it was closer to a $6.00 tip. She kindly thanked us and told us to enjoy the rest of our night. About 5 mins later, she walked past us and threw receipt book with the $3.00 in it on the table and very rudely said "here's your $3.00!". My husband attempted to get her attention, but she blatantly ignored us and kept walking. I travel to Kennesaw quite often for work, the hotel I stay is walking distance from Taco Mac, therefore a must option for me when I am hungry. First, I like the fact they are open late compared to the other restaurants and food places close. Now to the food, it is good and simple and convenient if you're hungry. They have several options for wings. The taco sampler is great too. However, the best thing about this place is the beer selection several options on draft and bottle. The thing lack other places is when it gets busy customer service goes down, don't get me wrong they will get your food to you, but after that don't expect a refill until you flag them down and request it. After I placed my online order the website gave me a time for 10:44PM to pick up my order. I came in 5 minutes earlier than that, the staff was friendly I give them credit for that. Funny thing!!! We were staying at the Embassy Suites right behind Taco Mac and wanted chicken wings to take back to our room. We had no idea that they served wings. We were thinking that the name "Taco Mac" meant Mexican food so we drove all over looking for wings. We finally gave up and decided to just park and walk over to Taco Mac and see what they had and low and behold- WINGS- We ordered a glass of beer and wine while we waited for our order to take back to our room. The place was very busy and they have one of the largest selection of beers (draft/bottled) that I have ever seen. Once the wings were done we went back to our room and enjoyed the wings very much. I went tonight and saw a 15 year old accidentally tip over the cup of silverware on the table where half of them landed on the bar floor. Guess what he did? Yep, put them all back in the tin cup. Used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Service has become terribly slow, with staff being rude. Arrived to a relatively empty establishment (7 tables occupied total). I really love this place. I only come when I'm visiting Kennesaw 5-6 times per year but when I do, my first pit stop is always Taco Mac. I always have great service sitting at the bar, and have even picked up a couple souvenir glasses! The wings are exactly the greatest but my local wing place in Virginia is impossible to compare to. Last time I was here I got queso and wings; the wings came out first by accident, and both the bartender were SO apologetic about something that's not even an issue! Service at this location has deteriorated over the last 2-3 years. Getting seated could be a challenge even when they aren't busy - someone might have to interrupt social hour to seat you. Good luck getting drink refills. You might get an offer as they bring you your check. I'm not sure what's going on with the management of this place but they aren't paying much attention to their wait staff. Food is ok, then keep changing the menu every few weeks. Some good additions, some so so. They've dropped a lot of my favorites so unless so just want some wings and can deal with the typically lackluster service, I pass on Taco Mac and go somewhere else. read more

Can you say massive beer selection, don't forget the wings. I go to Taco Mac at least 3 times a month and always get the wings and beer. They have an unheard-of local beer selection and pretty much any beer you could imagine on a very well designed menu. The beer of the month is cool too, if you get a beer of the month beer on a Thursday they give you a glass from the beer company. Their wing sauces are crafted in house and the sweat potato fries are a must have. read more

I stopped in while on a business trip. Since this is a chain I've had their food several times. I ordered the boneless chicken wings in habenero BBQ which was delicious. However the wings were incredibly small. The service was subpar and they were out of several of their local draught beers I tried to order. Taco Mac is open until 2am. In Kennesaw. While most of the town's asleep. The sidewalk was rolled up hours ago. Sometimes my work hours are funky, so grabbing something to eat, anything, at midnight is a major convenience. All the late west coast games are on the wall of TVs. We had a large group (36) and showed up when the place opened at 11:00am. It was not busy AT ALL. It took 40 minutes to have our orders taken. At 12:30 a lot of people still did not have food. They said they had to combine kids orders with the parents before they turned the orders in to the kitchen. What?! Why not turn the kids orders in and then hand out individual checks that the kids can hand to the parents? Smoother, faster and easier. Duh! This is all on management. They need to train the staff on how to handle large parties efficiently before the large parties actually get there. read more
