Absolutely loved this place!!! We went on the 4th of July and there weren't many people there but I'm sure it is on and popping any other time! That being said we had an AMAZING time! The staff were amazing, especially Ayda! Her energy and vibe were awesome! Several managers checked in to make sure we were good and it felt real genuine! The food was good. We ordered a Taco Platter with a Cauliflower, Grilled Fish, and a Bang Bang shrimp Taco, Fajitas, guacamole, and a El Gallo Loco Margarita. All of our food came to the table piping hot and fresh! The chips came nice and hot in a paper bag! They were our favorite and we ended up pigging out on them! My only complaint is that the rice in the rice and beans was not cooked all the way. I kept chewing hard pieces. I did tell the manager and she brought me out a fresh bowl to go! It was good! The real star of the show was the Key Lime Pie, I ordered to go! Oh my goodness!! The crust was thick and delicious and it was super creamy with subtle and balanced sweetness and tartness! Will definitely visit again!

Taco Mundo was really good! My favorite part of the restaurant was definitely the staff, and by far! I mainly interacted with three (3) different staff members, and they were all so nice, helpful, and welcoming! I wish that every restaurant's staff was that customer-service focused. I'll also say that I got a margarita, which wasn't the greatest margarita I've ever had, but which was definitely above average relative to the ones I've gotten at similar Mexican restaurants. The chips and salsa also seemed to be fresher than other said Mexican restaurants, and my friend said that their food was pretty good as well. As for my food, I didn't necessarily love it, but it wasn't terrible either. I asked for a cheese quesadilla, and they gave me a chicken-and-cheese quesadilla instead. I understand that this was just a simple mistake, but it was kind of disappointing nonetheless. In addition, the tacos that I got were good and of high quality, but I do wish that they had been a little bit warmer by the time they got to my table. All-in-all, Taco Mundo was a really solid Mexican restaurant with good-enough food, but with customer service definitely serving as its strong suit.

I got the carne asada quesadilla and it was really good. Very crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. My friend ordered the chicken nachos and the portion was huge. I'd been to Taco Mundo before and thought it was just okay, but this visit completely changed my mind. We came for trivia night and had such a fun time. The space is big, lively, and the staff was super friendly. Definitely glad I gave it another try!!

This was our Frist time here. We had a large group of 15 people. This place is super laid back. We had a large group but the staff did an amazing job. The street corn dip is amazing a must get. All the food was really good.

It's restaurant week in the midlands (Oct 2-12) so my friend and I came here for dinner. They have the 3 courses for 2 for $40 which was a steal considering we were able to get drinks instead of a dessert. The shrimp was so good with the tempura batter and sweet chili sauce. It was fresh and has a good crunch. The fajitas were very flavorful. Those drinks were so good, sweet and not overpowering with liquor. The chips and salsa were prob the best part. Everything tasted so fresh like they literally just made it in the back 2 seconds ago lol. I really enjoyed myself and our waitress was amazing. Great place to go for a fun night.

The meat was burnt! The Hawaiian chicken taco was good ! The fajitas trio was burned, the cheese dip and guacamole were good.service was slow and not a lot of attention to details. She took the empty water glass and took 10-15 minutes to bring back. The plates were brought half way through the meal, there was a fly on the table. The tissue box on the table has a filmed of dirt and my husband has to get one from another table.the ambiance is ok.

We went for lunch on a Saturday. Loved the food, drinks, and service! We will definitely be back!

The food surpassed my expectations, particularly the red pepper dip. I also saw the teriyaki beef tacos and thought they'd be meh, but they were really quite tasty! Did not order entrees. I would say they should add a vegetarian/vegan entree option (or substitution) (beyond something mundane like a salad)- maybe I didn't look hard enough. The service was good but not anything to rave about. We were there at what seemed to be a relatively slow time of day/week (maybe 20% of the restaurant was full). Nothing bad to say here. The pricing was as expected. Pretty typical. Also, why no champagne on the menu?! Come on guys (lol, again, maybe I didn't look hard enough). So- 4 out of 5. Not knocking it because of any complaints, it's just pretty average for Columbia. Though I do think they deserve higher than 3.6 based on my experience.

I loved the rustic feel, everything made out of liquor barrels, the lighting top tier. For appetizers, my friend got the crab Rangoon toast, and we got wings and deviled eggs. The toast was really good but I felt like it was one note, it needed something to cut the creaminess. The deviled eggs were so good with the cracklin chicken skin on top and the wings were crispy and flavorful . I think they were my favorites of the day. My bf got the lobster roll which he said was really good. The bun is toasted, the lobster is cold but he said it's not like ice cold, it's the perfect temperature. My friends said the shrimp and grits and chopped cheese sandwich were amazing. Only thing I'd say about the shrimp and grits is that the kale sitting on top like that is off putting. It could have been plated a little better. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of my food because it came out last but I got the grilled steak cooked medium rare and it was perfect ! They did put finishing salt which made certain bits really salty so I didn't like that. But other than that, everything was so good. I'd give the experience a 9/10.

Upon entering the hostess informed us they were currently only serving the late night menu. We said no problem and elected to grab seats at the bar. There were several empty tables and a few empty seats @ the bar. However, the only two seats together at the bar needed to be cleared from the last patrons that were seated. We stood there for over 20 mins while Jacob continued to walk by never acknowledging us or the fact that we couldn't sit. When he finally cleared the dishes he just walked away, never cleaning the area. When he returned he still never greeted us or apologized for the wait, the mess... nothing. Jacob: What are you having? Me: Well hello... Jacob: Yea... what do you want? Me: Wow... ok. For starters can you please whip off the bar so we can properly have a seat. There is still food residue here from the last customers. ** we get a visible huff** He wipes down the bar and we proceed to order drinks, while he never really speak any more it's all via motions and body language. Amongst ourselves we check in with one another to confirm that we both were feeling very unwelcome. Instantly we decide that we will not be ordering anything additional and will be leaving after this one drink. Which is just as well because Jacob never returns. Someone , whom I can only assume was of a mangement status, asked if Jacob was helpful and we promptly and simultaneously said no and that we would like or bill. She shook her head in utter disbelief and disgust but then she also disappeared. Just so happened that Diamond, whom was on the other side of the bar happen to walk pass. She stopped and asked if we were ok after witnessing our frustration. We explained that we wanted the check and why we were leaving. She was super apologetic and closed out our tab. Her energy literal turned the experience around and if she would have came to our rescue sooner we would have considered staying. Thank you Diamond. Just A Note: Unfortunately, bad first impression because The Grand seems like it may offer a good time with the bowling lanes in the back.

The place is very well air conditioned, and the space is very intentional. Visiting from out of state the waitress seemed a bit shy/new but curious about Wisconsin she warmed up a little bit. It's really cool that you can see the chefs in their element behind a glass wall while you wait. The silverware, or should I say Goldwear was beautiful. I started out with the All American Spritz- it was good but nothing extraordinary. However when I tried the pistachio martini, I was in disbelief! I was skeptical to order it as I've never even heard of one before and was unsure how pistachio would translate into a martini. It was creamy and somehow savory and sweet at the same time, the alcohol taste was nonexistent. And the rim was coated in pistachio crumbs. Both the drinks presentation was beautiful. I personally ordered the bbq chicken sandwhich, with mac and cheese instead of fries for the side. The sandwich was smoky, I could not stop eating it! If anyone was wondering what so special about the mac and cheese, it's the name of the noodles. And yes, the waitress will sound it out with you lol! The Mac and cheese wasn't creamy, and I found it a bit bland unfortunately. There was no order the same in the group I came with. The truffle fries were on the thinner crispier side, neat that there were different color of potatoes used. The duck wings came out like their very own presentation. I tried the alligator bites, that were served with 2 sauces, I thought there were kind of chewy , and weird enough I guess I have a preference with how my alligator is served since having tried some at the Wisco State fair. I love that the menu feels curated, you know what you're there for and it's not overwhelming to pick from the options of something new. The bathroom was very cute too! And the bar area was lit up, a cool atmosphere.

That created a slightly rushed feeling right from the start of the experience. When the food arrived, it was not served hot. The fries were seasoned but came out cold, so we had to send them back. The service also felt a bit disengaged, as though the server was ready to wrap things up, even though there was still about 30 to 45 minutes before closing time. That said, once the food was remade and served hot, it was really good. My salad, however, was not the same experience, as the lettuce had brown spots throughout, which took away from the overall quality. You can tell the kitchen has potential when the food is prepared properly, but consistency is the issue. The ambience is very cool and visually appealing. It is a bit dark for my personal preference in the evening, but I can imagine it being bright and beautiful during the daytime. The cocktail I ordered was just okay and didn't really stand out. Overall, there is definitely potential here, but improvements in consistency, service attentiveness, and food quality control would really elevate the experience.
