Great vegan and gluten free options !! $10 for 2 tacos (4+ to choose from) and a side (2+ to choose from) Spicy sweet potato bisque -- was not that tasty. Lacked character. All I could taste was a hint of spice sweet potato taco -- vegan and gluten free. locally grown sweet potato breaded and deep fried w/ rice flour and topped with pickled red cabbage, okonomiyaki sauce & vegan creme. Highlight of my experience!! Very lightly fried to order. Super crispy. Definitely will come back for this!! Very light and nice taco. I'm not a vegan but my fiancée's sister is. When they're in town we have to make more difficult decisions about where we eat. But this place makes it easy! Every taco I've tried here is excellent. As others have said the line is a little slow, but since I go to Taco Party when they are at the Northeastern truck stop it's not as crowded. It took about 10-15 minutes for all three of us to order and get our food. Everyone enjoyed their tacos! I had never had tempeh and found it quite delicious. The lime, cabbage, avocado combination was perfect. They were out of the Tamarind Punch.. but I hope to try that in future! They take the LevelUp which is awesome! I think $3.50 is a little pricey for a small taco, but it's great to have a vegan/vegetarian food truck out there. read more

Delish! I went to Taco Party today for the first time with a co-worker. The women working the truck were very friendly and I love how everything is labeled on the menu (gf, contains nuts, etc). I ordered the tofu taco, the plantain taco, and a vegan pb cookie. Everything was delicious and very filling too. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had vegan cookies because it can be really tough to find a vegan pastry in downtown Boston. Excellent all around. You'll never believe it's vegan. The nachos with the vegan cheese is delicious. Every taco is excellent.

I love Taco Party - while some may consider it overpriced for the portions, I think it's a high-quality meal that you can get for less than $10. As a vegan, I'm pretty fine with that! I love that they're open until 10 PM as I often work late. I've never had any unfriendly staff experiences, and it's always a short and sweet interaction. Food never takes long. I love the mushroom taco the best, but other favorites are the torta and the nachos! They also have vegan cookies and brownies. They have the bicycle benefits program so if you show your card, you can get a free side (black beans + rice or chips + pinto dip). All items they give you are compostable (and they collect compost there). Notes: The place is small but there's almost always a seat open. This isn't a place to sit and work or hang out with a big group - it's a place to get a quick and yummy vegan meal. Cons: - There is no bathroom - you'll have to use the bathroom at a cafe next door. - I've found that their water cups always taste soapy so I haven't drunk their water there in a while. I grabbed 2 tacos on a rainy work day, here's the rundown: Was super excited to try the sweet potato taco and felt like it was kind of a letdown - don't get me wrong I ate it all, but just felt like it could have had a better flavor/more sweet potato. I was pleasantly surprised by the tofu taco - this was a 5 star taco. Had great flavor and the tofu was cooked nicely I got a water and I noticed it said it came in a reusable water bottle... it came in a cup, that sure you could re-use... maybe they were saying you could get refills? It was 50 cents (which is a good deal I suppose, of course it could have been in a lousier cup and free). I don't know it was just strange to me it wasn't in a bottle. However, you could get ice, which was nice. Overall, feel neutral about the water situation. The staff were super friendly and nice. I would give taco party another try. I feel tacos should be a little cheaper, but prices seemed average for the area (financial district). I liked that the offerings were unique and they had some good flavors going on. read more

I love you Taco Party at BU West! Super nice to have a bunch of veg options at one truck. I'm here pretty much every Monday, and though I've tried all of the tacos, the Tempeh Tantrum is def my favorite - I get them religiously. Best flavor, best texture. I'm not quite as into the panko on the T-party ones and I'm generally not a huge seitan fan. The first time I went I got one of each, and it was too much food! 2 tacos are actually a pretty sizeable portion. They're generous with the avocado in the tacos themselves, the shells are corn and not flour (my preference anyway), but I'd skip the chips and guac side - it just tastes like flavorless mashed avocado. Not really a rice and beans person, so can't weigh in on that one - I usually just stick to 2 tacos and bring along an orange to fill me up, which seems to work well for lunch. read more

Taco party made me very excited. I loved the idea of vegetarian tacos. However their rice and beans were dry and hard which I think needs to be staple in vegetarian food. The seitan was good, not too tough. I also had a buffalo flavored taco that left something to be desired. It was an expensive lunch $10 for something I didn't even finish eating. Eh. Maybe they were just having an off day but it wasn't very delicious and needed more flavor. read more

I was in the area, saw the great reviews and decided to try it out. I typically get carnitas tacos, but realized shortly after looking at the menu that everything is plant based. I went with a combo-the potato taco, the tofu taco and side salad. All were delicious, but the tofu taco was my favorite. Can't wait to go back and try more! read more

The tofu and seitan tacos are great. I can't speak to the tempeh because tempeh is one of the foods they'll be serving me in hell. Along with carrot cake, but that's neither here nor there because it's not on the menu at Taco Party. Vegan crema is on the menu though--and it's good. A decent array of hot sauces is next to the menu. And you should try the rice and bean side if you get the meal, because they also do this one very basic thing that more places should do: for a seasoned side of rice they use properly cooked brown rice, which is slightly chewy, savory, and delicious. Taco Party is a small all vegan taco place with affordable prices. The place itself is very clean, relaxing and minimalist. Although, I do wish they had a larger menu, it's still a great place to eat. If you aren't a person fond of spicy food, this may not be for you. I'm sure they can work around that for you. I hope they expand on more ideas and continue to grow and get more business. I love getting to crispy tofu taco and the jackfruit taco. Have to try the nachos next time! read more

Best food in Somerville! I'm an omnivore & I love this place. You've got to try it! The tacos & the baked goods are equally amazing. I'm a little obsessed with Taco Party. I remember reading about it's conception a little before they hit the streets and being very excited. I've adopted a mostly vegan/vegetarian diet over the past 2 years and it's great to know more businesses are taking initiative to have vegan options. Plus, they have such a focus on using local produce and ingredients where they can. I'm also a fan of their branding. I highly recommend the T Party Taco. Their mango salsa is lovely and combines well with their breaded tofu. Also, make sure to try their guacamole. It's easily the best I've had in the area. Lastly, of their rotating taco specials, make sure to nab up the 'Kam Man' if it's ever on the menu. Who would have thought red bean paste would be good on a taco? Yay for Taco Party! :D read more

The tacos here are great. Nearly perfect really. The tofu taco is perfectly crispy and yum. Seitan taco was spicy and flavorful. I look forward to trying the sweet potato taco. The guac was good, but way too expensive. I don't see a point in paying 3.50 for two tablespoons of guac. Pinto dip was kind of gross, it might have been better warm. Cans of Polar seltzer are $2 each. Donuts were okay, but for the price there are way better vegan donuts in town. Service was surely. Taco Party tacos are tasty. Their food is great. They're always happy to customize if you want extra crema or to substitute a topping. I have a couple issues which make me take off one star, though. - Their tortillas aren't organic. Non-organic corn has high levels of pesticides and glyphosate, so now that I know this, I think I'll opt for the salad going forward. - Their water cups always taste soapy, so I take my own water. read more

I came here when it was parked in Back Bay upon a recommendation from co-worker who is a vegetarian. As a vegan, I'm always interested in trying new vegetarian and vegan options! I asked for a recommendation, and was suggested the tempeh tacos. I went really early, around 11:45 AM, hoping to get down from the John Hancock Tower where I work, and back up ASAP as I was busy that day. It wasn't as quick as I thought it would be. Even though there were hardly people there at that hour, it still took probably between 6 to 8 minutes. I guess I was expecting it to be ready faster. I guess I just was disappointed with the taste and texture of everything. The rice was weird, not my thing, I've never seen a hard-kernel type of rice before. I think I got black beans on the side as well. They were sooooo MEH. And then the tacos themselves really just were spiced so odd, that all I tasted was spice when I was eating them, and throughout the rest of the day, despite brushing my teeth *three times*. I don't think this place is *bad* per se, I just didn't care for it, for my tastes. I appreciate their efforts, but I was expecting essentially creative uses of vegetables and onions and herbs in all their food, but what they serve is "vegetarian meat replacement" and then they add other boilerplate toppings and sides, neither of which were anything special, or even good. I don't think this place will do much repeat business, because even as a vegan, I wouldn't want any of my meat-eating friends to think this is a representative sample of meat-free dining.... because it's not. read more

I am slightly obsessed with this place. I've only had it a few times when I go to SoWa market since it's not located near me. Although, if I had one near me it would dangerous. The tacos are so good and I love the creative names! I love the buffalo and seitan ones. The times I've gone there weren't any desserts, bummer! Still, this is my favorite food truck. I went for dinner here with a friend, not knowing what to expect but feeling some trepidation. I'm vegetarian (and used to be vegan), but I'm also a pretty picky eater, and I wasn't sure at all I'd like any of the food here. The woman working when I went was super-nice and patient, and explained all the things on the menu that I asked about. Both my and my friend's tacos were amazing. So incredibly delicious. I was extremely impressed, and we had a really good time. The place itself is rather small, but it's nicely set up, and was very clean when we were there. And I love that they compost. The different tacos on the menu are packed with bold flavor and the combinations are creative and delicious. On top of that, the baked goods were amazing. But the tacos and sides were so overwhelmingly salted that I must give 2 stars only. Why is it that vegan and vegetarian restaurants feel that they need to load up the salt ?
