Often run late at work and need a quick place to grab dinner. Tried all the other fast food places on Rainier (foot of Beacon Hill) and recently all have had issues - mostly forgotten items in the order or just too slow. This Taco Time bucks the trend and has been consistent with good service and completed orders! I am thankful that they are in the neighborhood and through using their Rewards App (through Level Up) I often end up with some food reward or even $5 off a meal. Taco time is one of my favorite Americanized Mexican Restaurants. The food here is always cooked to perfection (I've learned not all Taco Times in this city are created equally). I had an amazing interaction with the manager yesterday that will always keep me coming back. Long story short I complained about price increases(of course I noticed...I buy food here all of the time). Instead of the manager ignoring me, he informed me why prices were increased(they got some well deserved raises, he cracked a few jokes, and hooked me up with some extra sauce;). I've been frequenting Taco Time's around the northwest for 40 years. My experience at this location was appalling. I understand that this location has limited parking and drive-through space, so I've taken that into account. But when I was pulling in, there was a car backing out of the drive-through. I waited and let them back out. Then another car started to back out, so I let them out as well. I asked what the issue was, and they both stated that it was taking "forever". I then decided to park and walk in. There were 5 or 6 patrons waiting around for their orders, but only 1 customer in front of me ordering, so I didn't think it would take much time. I ordered without issue. Beef soft taco, no ranch. Meanwhile, the employees looked like they were having a great time, laughing, yucking it up, and paying attention to each other. The problem is they weren't paying attention to their customers, or surroundings. I wish I had started to video everything. I mentioned to an employee that they were out of salsa at the salsa bar....multiple times it looked like he would take care of it, then didn't. He got sidetracked multiple times, and not with customers. Multiple times he went into the managers office with another girl, not sure what went on in there. There was only one person that was making food for all the customers, both walk-in and drive-through. While I was waiting, multiple customers just walked out. Not sure if they had already paid or not. After 15+ minutes of waiting, I hear the 1 guy that does all the preparation say, "so I guess I'll have to make that soft taco, no ranch?". I then see them emptying out the contents of a to-go order bag, and they comment, "They already left"... So they are now re-purposing some already made food for other orders. At that point I see him shifting a few half-made soft tacos and burritos around on the bar, and then he proceeds to scrape half of something out of one, and into another. After wrapping up what looked to be the contents of my order, they call my number. I respond with, "so you scrape half of the contents out of my taco, and into another?" The prep worker responds with, "It wasn't beef, it was beans". So they take something that had already been made, scrape out the beans, and hand it to me as a beef soft taco. At that point I had seen enough. I responded with, "I don't want any food from this place, you guys are a $h!tshow". Even though I had already paid, I couldn't fathom getting any food from here, be it the wait, the shoddy customer service, and the absolute disgusting nature of how they dealt with their food. What If I was allergic to beans, and they left some of the residual on the inside of my taco? This place doesn't represent any Taco Time experience that I've had in my 40+ years of patronizing their establishments. At the time there was also an older couple that apparently knew the owner/manager, and had been coming here for years, and were very adamant that they were going to tell them of the poor service. Taco Time is NOTHING like Taco Bell. NOTHING. Canned beans (TT) vs. dehydrated (TB). Fresh vegetables (TT) vs. WTF? Is this food? (TB). And--TATOR TOTS. I'm in an all-caps kind of mood, I guess. I love tator tots. Or, as Taco Time inexplicably calls them, "Mexi-Fries". It's still fast food from a chain, but it's moderately healthy. I get the veggie natural soft taco, which is huge. The ranch is nasty, but I don't like ranch in general. They put sunflower seeds in it; strangely tasty. A bit pricey for a drive-through, but one burrito=two meals. I'm a Taco Timer for life! My go to meal is usually a fish soft taco, chicken soft taco, or veggie soft taco w/ a small fry. I appreciate how quick this place is, how clean it is, and how friendly the staff always is. That and the fact that it's open till 10pm. read more

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat mainly for the ranch. I have been trying to get the recipe for years. A few weeks ago I go in and order some of my favorites with my usual sides of ranch. Without warning unbeknownst to me they changed it to one of the nastiest sauces I have ever had. I immediately came back like what is this it taste like poison. They poorly say oh every store changed their ranch. Well you could at least tell your customers first. I guess I will never eat another crispy chicken burrito again or anything from this store until they bring the old ranch back. read more

Ordered 6 items and received 4...they made me wait a long time so gave me crustos as an apology I guess? I don't need the apology, just give me the items ordered and paid for!! Went through the drive through at the Rainier Ave Store in South Seattle. Thought the bag smelled somewhat rancid when driving home. Thought it was probably my imagination. Got the food home. Opened the Crustos. They were so rancid I almost threw up. Had to get them out of the house the smell was so awful. Came here for lunch to get freshly made meal. Friendly and patient cashier. Good variety of items on the menu. Busy during lunch hours. The fit-hit bowl was pretty delicious. The bowl had rice, whole black beans, and tender chicken topped with pico de gallo, corn salsa and you can pick mild or medium salsa. This item is prepared with gluten-free ingredients, however they may come in contact with other ingredients in our kitchen that contain gluten. Orders got served at descent pace. My fiance and I moved here from Florida where we had a favorite fast Mexican food joint. In your search to find a new regular place we discovered Taco Time. This quickly became our favorite because the food was fast, fresh and the staff was friendly. I also come for the freestyle coke machine which allows you to make any drink combination you can think of. (My favorite is diet coke with a little regular raspberry coke on top) This particular Taco Time is also quite environmentally conscious with the majority of their wrappers, cups and plastic ware being compostable. I am New to the Taco Time for scores and three months ago I knew not of the culinary delicacy that is the Taco Time for I thought the only taco was a bell and that Bell rang in my digestive track like ear piercing scream, but the grace and poise of the staff when I entered late night just before close in the wee hours of an enlightened night was that of an Angels of grace. I would totally like to give this place -5 stars. The drive thru staff sucks. Food tastes the worse. I love mexican food, so I usually go to smaller restaurants. First time ever I went to a tacotime, and they mess up my order so bad. There soft tacos are totally wrapped up and big like burritos, I mean really? It makes no sense. And the stuffing is totally tasteless. The only thing I liked was the cheese on my Pinto beans. Never going back to a Taco Time and specially to this one. read more

If Taco Bell and Whole Foods had a love child, this Taco Time would be it. The staff are VERY friendly, and super engaging. Facilities are clean, well maintained, and our food was promptly prepared and tasted great. My only complaint, although not deserving a one-star drop, is that they got rid of sweet potato tots. Whatever, if I write enough letters they'll have to bring them back. I will protest if I must. Sandwich board and everything. read more

I LOVE this place! it's quiet and clean and the food is always good. The wait staff is unfailingly polite and helpful. The service is fast and reliable. And, nearly all their serving dishes and condiment holders are recyclable. I love their lo-cal single taco with chicken, non-fat sour cream, and the fabulous white chili. A great bargin for about $6.00. The clientele is adult and respectful, and I can count on great food and atmosphere every time. read more

Grew up eating Taco Time... This location is the closest to home and when I need fast Mex I go there. Warning the staff can be a bit hard to deal with and understand. Also once in a while I get sick eating there food. I think the employees are not the cleanest. TIP: Do not use drive thru they screw up your order a lot. read more

Let me start off by saying I frequent this location but after today I don't know I will EVER go back. I ordered the large Mexi Fries the nice young Asian guy brought them over to my table. I was very surprised that the lid was closed as every time I order them they are spilling over. So I asked the young man if this was the large and he said yes. I asked can I get some more the container isn't full. He seemed very squeamish but told me it shouldn't be an issue to go up front. I walked up and this rude younger blonde women looked at me and said there are 30 in a large. I said 30? Like really? You are telling me you have people count. WTF? REALLY? Well she blew me off I walked over to my table and counted the fries. YES...I COUNTED. Not because I need that extra 250 calories but because I paid .75 cents more for these damn tots and I knew that there weren't 30 in there. Well guess what? There were 25! So I walked back up and told the cashier there were only 25 he then informed the rude blonde there were only 25. She then snactched the tray and barked at this black man to count them. He looked at her and said "HUH?" she repeated to him "Count them!" So guess what...he took my order and began counting. He said 25. She then yelled at him get 5 more and so he went over with his scoop and got 5 placed them back in the same container which was now COLD! Its been a 5 minute ordeal at this point and she then started barking other orders at the staff. I feel bad for the employees that have to deal with this women. My guess is she gets bonuses off of how much money she can save this place. In reality she will be losing my business I am not going back and I am telling everyone out there this place is a torture chamber for employees. The customer is clearly never right here. read more

Omg is probably one of the best fast food places I ever been to in Seattle! Excellent customer service the cashier/ manager the African American guy was super friendly and helpful since it was my first time here and explain everything to me! The food tasted good, fresh and healthy even for fast food place! Little expensive compare to taco bell or other food trucks but definitely worth it! They also offer a vegetarian burrito! read more
