Are these the best tacos? I tried a little of everything. The best thing by far is the Taco Pastor. They put this cilantro avocado crema on it as well as the pineapple that takes it to the next level! Typically a lot of places over cook the asada but here it was nice and juicy. It seems chaotic when you walk in but they do a good job taking orders and getting you the food. I would go back.

Taco Viva easily exceeded my expectations and lived up to the hype (top 100 restaurant on Yelp). These tacos are the best that I've had in a minute. Each taco was truly unique but traditional in a sense. The Al pastor was my favorite, it came with a delicious cilantro crema. I also tried a moula as well? Quite good but I think I'd get another taco instead next time. Easy 5/5

Cool design and fun place to take the family or just a few friends. There was a pretty long line and we got through it in about 20 minutes; you line up to order, and then get in a second line to have your items assembled. In the assembly line, there were some items that were premade (the fries already had cheese and meat on them, assembler just added guac, so meat looked a little cold). But other than that they all the fixings for you (onion, cilantro, salsa, guac). They gave us a free taco though, for a mistake at the register. Low-key the best pastor I've ever had, they put pineapple in it which always just level up the experience!! Also comes with a crema that didn't overpower the flavors, but balanced it all out. Seriously the best taco I've ever had. I'm telling all my friends.

Wow! I stopped by around 1:30 on a weekday and it was so busy! Luckily there's quite a bit of parking behind. What a cute place! Very lively and clean atmosphere. You order at the front then take your slip to the cooks at the open kitchen. I'm not sure why this step but its kinda fun -- they're very friendly, ask you if you want "con todo" and here or to go, then hand you back your food shortly after. You do get to see the trompo (al pastor pork cooking on a spit - the only real al pastor!) and your food being made. I got an al pastor taco and a gringa (al pastor taco with cheese), both con todo. There's a salsa bar and though the tacos already had plenty of stuff on them, I had to add some salsa as it was so good! There is also a drive through. I'll definitely be back!

Tried Viva Tacos and it did NOT disappoint queso & chips, guacamole & chips, carne asada tacos, AND al pastor... and everything was seriously so good. The guac was super fresh, and those chips were perfectly crunchy. The carne asada tacos were packed with flavor and cooked just right, and the al pastor had that perfect sweet + savory combo. Honestly, every single thing we ordered hit. seven the beans were great. Great food, great vibes, and definitely a new go-to spot for tacos. Came in to try out this place I kept seeing all over my Instagram Got the pollo and al pastor tacos Pollo had a really hot salsa that came on it so unsure if the chicken had any flavor or not. The true star of the show was the al pastor taco! That meat was so tender and full of flavor. I would eat a dozen of them. We also got chips and guac and some beans. Service was friendly and quick. They also took the time to explain some of the menu items. Inside was spacious and clean. Def worth a try!

If you're looking for authentic Mexican tacos rather than Tex-Mex, this is the spot. I loved that you can choose between flour or corn tortillas. The al pastor with pineapple was a standout, and the mushroom taco had a lot of potential, but the heat level was too high and ended up drowning out the other flavors. Honestly, my favorite thing on the menu wasn't even a taco, the carne asada fries were the highlight of the meal. Worth a visit if you're curious about what real Mexican food tastes like.

The food and salsas are delicious. Getting there might confuse you. There was a line out the door, so I followed the crowd. Saw some inexpensive merch and their menu and the restrooms. I finally arrived at counter and paid for meal and got a ticket. I moved over but found out I accidentally cut off the ither people waiting so got in another line to wait for the personal customization of my food order. After that was complete I got my coke product drinks and salsas. The Carne Asada and the Al Pastor were tender, flavorful, and so worth going back for more. The only thing I recommend is possibly lines on the floor for direction, and clearer instructions for newbies. I so wanted to buy a beanie, but next time.

Taco Viva is spectacular. Everything was good, well seasoned and had great flavor. Loved the chicken, carne asada, but I think my fav was the Al pastor. The corn tortillas were soft and had a little firmness. The mini quesadilla is cheesy gooey deliciousness. Tip, ask for the grilled onions and peppers on the side. It's free. Ask for the green crema that comes with the al pastor. It's great on all of the tacos, but is only added on the Al pastor. Overall, highly recommend. Friendly staff and happy to make your tacos anyway you want.

Amazing! Delicious! There was a little bit of a line when we walked in but it moved surprisingly quickly. Having a giant menu on the wall made it easy to have our choices ready to go when we got to the register. We had a basic order of carne asada tacos and chips and quac. While our order was simple the flavors were not! The carne asada was flavorful and juicy, the onion and cilantro were complimentary and not overpowering, the salsa had just the right heat to it and the guacamole added flavor and a balance to the salsa. We chose flour tortillas that were made fresh while we waited. The chips and quac came with a good portion of tortilla chips as well as a decent size portion of the most amazing guacamole. For the sizes of everything and the deliciousness, I was surprised that everything was so reasonably priced. All around a great experience and meal, especially on a budget!

Taco Viva is easy to spot with that big black, white, and red building right on Indian School. They've got their own parking lot and even a drive-thru, which is always nice. When we walked in, there was already a long line to order, so you know it's popular. Inside, it's really spacious with high ceilings, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The place was clean, and the staff was constantly wiping down tables as soon as people left. The line moved a little slow, but honestly, it wasn't bad at all. We ordered tacos, tostadas, and especiales. Everything was fresh and really tasty. The especiales were a bit salty, but still totally fine. Our only regret was not ordering more. They also have a self-serve condiment station, which helps things move faster when it's busy. By the time we finished eating, there was still a steady line of people ordering. Even then, it didn't feel too crowded because tables turned over pretty quickly.

This is one of the easiest reviews for me to write as it is one of our favorite places for taco nights because of the quality with the food and the mean is always levels above many of the places we have ever been to and most of them don't even come close the same the authentic Tijuana style tacos you can get here hence why I believe the price is worth it. Atmosphere is always amazing here with all the music and chatter amongst everyone here. Staff is always amazing as they are always so good at having and holding conversation with people even while prepping the food. Ambiance is great because you feel like you are in an authentic taqueria in Tijuana and it's just great will always be one of our favorites and highly recommend and very understandable why it is ranked in the Top 100 in the US on Yelp as they greatly deserve it

Taco Viva is fun and the food is amazing! I highly recommend the pork and the mushroom dishes! My favorite was the Mulas! The fries are pretty spectacular as well. The staff is super friendly, energetic, knows and clearly loves their food...always good when they love their own product. By far some of the best Al pastor tacos I've ever had. If you're familiar with tacos el gordo then this place will blow you out of the water. Food was great and staff was even better, super friendly and welcoming. This just turned into my new favorite spot. Word to the wise the Al pastor fries have what seems to be a chipotle sauce on top and it ain't for the faint of heart great taste but have your drink ready. read more

Can only use some hotter salsa at salsa bar! Otherwise 5 stars! Great spot, very inviting and friendly atmosphere and staff. Fantastic selection of Mexican bottled sodas as well as fountain drinks and cerveza. The food is great, well-portioned tacos, mulas and vampiros. I want to share my wonderful experience at this place. I loved that they made the tortillas fresh to order - that's just one of the reasons I'm giving this place 5 stars. I ordered 2 chicken and one pastor taco. The tacos are quite big, and I was full after my second one. Both varieties tasted delicious, but the pastor was my absolute favorite. Really good authentic Mexican food. I usually prefer carne asada but the al pastor seems like the speciality here, it was so good. Fries are beer battered which is the best. Salsa is sometimes a little bit spicy and other times the perfect mild. Guac is like a sauce which I love. They're fast. Lots of meat in the tacos and on the fries. Wish they did burritos. Horchata was amazing. And I came in late one night and was apologizing about it being near closing time and the lady was so nice about it, really made me feel like she was happy to take my order. Only 3 types of meat- but if you're looking for a good carne asada, al pastor, or chicken taco- this is the place! This is my first but won't be my last. When you walk into this bustling place the menu is on the wall. When we stepped up to order the women were relaxed and made you feel like we had been there before. I asked questions and the ladies were happy to help. You can tell all the kitchen staff were glad to be there. All smiles from the cooks. I ordered my tacos on corn being my choice. I was asking about the quesadilla and one of the owners made one for me to try. The tables are clean and fairly busy midafternoon. The Salas is delicious. The Guacamole was fresh like all the food. Dined in 30mins before close on Super Bowl Sunday. Friendly staff, clean restroom, fair prices, great quality and selection, good music. These are the best tacos in Phoenix. Absolutely wow. If you have been to or heard of Los Tacos No. 1 in New York which is the highest rated taco on that city this is just as good and the same style. The asada and the al pastor are so damn good. Love the thin pineapple slices they put on the pastor and the meat is both super juicy and crispy on the outside, amazing guac and I recommend ordering everything "con todos" which just means with all of the toppings. $3 for these tacos is insane. My Wife found this place on Instagram. So today me, my Mother and kids stopped in to try it out. We had the carne asada fries, carne asada and Al pastor tacos. Absolutely food is awesome. Taste great. Not greasy. Light. Tortillas hand made and Mexicans cokes (the best). We also tried the churro crumble and pina colada ice cream. Worst service I have ever received. Several people were helped ahead of me while my order was sitting. I asked if they had put the toppings on my quesadilla. I was told everything was on it. It wasn't. Really don't want to be a "Karen". But for crap's sake. Do you friggen job. It shouldn't matter who or what I am. If I'm paying for food, I should get what I asked for. First time here and definitely not the last. We came in at 11:30am on a Sunday and things were just getting started. We ordered the vampiro, quesadilla, tacos, mulas, chips and queso, and horchata. The hongos and the asada were deliciouse, but the Al pastor was the highlight. Tender, just the right amount of spice, and the thin shavings of pineapple were a nice touch. Clean, well maintained salsa bar, our favorite was the orange one. My wife,.who grew up in Mexico City and is very critical, enthusiastically approved. My kids loved the hats, and we ended up leaving with 2. The service was great and they catered to all of our customizations. We will be back! read more

Al Pastor Mula topped with pineapple is definitely their signature item. Mula looks like a sandwich between two tortillas which you can scoop up half the meat and just make two tacos. Ask for grilled onions and jalapeño for a veggie delight! read more

I opted for both the red chile and green chile sauce which coated the chips along with a generous layer of tangy cotija cheese. I asked for the eggs scrambled and they cooked them just how I like them... fairly dry and in a thin griddled layer. Add to this mound of well-seasoned goodness a decent dolloping of Tapatio hot sauce (and salt and pepper on the eggs) and I had endless perfect bites of spicy, meaty brekkie goodness that brought delighted yummy sounds from my grateful gullet! This was quality food and the couple at the bar next to me raved about the Menudo, so it has all the hallmarks of authentic Mexican fare. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.

Unfortunately, the execution did not match the appearance. The tostada felt less like a composed dish and more like a collection of separate ingredients stacked onto a crunchy shell. Each component stood distinctly on its own rather than working together in harmony. Instead of complementary textures and flavors building depth, every bite tasted fragmented as though the ingredients were competing for attention rather than enhancing one another. I received a message back from the owner of the Taco Viva saying to contact him so that we could give them a five star rating. They wanted to make it right from our first visit. They told me to send an email to Rigo at customer service which I did. I never heard from anybody from their office. So I'm updating my review. And the reason being is apparently they don't care about their customers or he would've contacted me like he said he would. read more

The food didn't disappoint me. I like the Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos which has nice flavor and very well-seasoned too. The tacos were packed with great stuffing and it was full of flavor.
