I've been here many times and can definitely vouch for the goodness that they serve Monday to Friday from 11-11. I always get the same thing a brean burrito with extra cheese it's soo soo good and everything is made fresh the tortillas and the beans more importantly the cheese is authentic. Todays order is a bean burrito cheese as usual served with a side of creamy guacamole 4oz $2 Guacamole 4oz $4 and free salsa as much as you want it's the bomb I love the always asking for salsa red, salsa de asada and salsa hot they go well with everything and I can't eat my food without it, it's truly the best salsa ever. I paid $16.00 for everything and highly recommend you try this restaurant everything is fresh made and they even make authentic drinks as well I've tried several and they are soo good my favorite is the one made with cucumber it's soo refreshing. Run try you some it's definitely worth a trip over the prices are great and the variety of down home authentic food that they serve is amazing from burritos tacos carne asada tripe steak and soo much more. We went here on our way back home from the beach because we wanted something to eat before we headed home and I'm so glad that we did. We ordered a taco, Vampiro, mulita, and nachos! We saw that they had really high ratings on yelp, so we were excited to try. Oh my goodness, it was amazing! The food was just extremely fresh and had a lot of flavor. The meats were cooked to perfection and extremely tender. We tried to three different salsas, each one of them extremely tasty with fresh products. I think we were just surprised that everything that we had was delicious. They also made handmade corn tortillas and fresh chips. This was our first time trying Tacomasa and it didn't disappoint. We couldn't decide what to order so the cashier asked if we wanted to sample the meat. It all had amazing flavor. I ordered the taco combo with tacos de lengua and elote. My husband had a burrito with asada and adobada. They took his onion allergy seriously which I really appreciate because we always have challenges with this at Mexican restaurants. The food was delicious and staff was great. I drove 30 mins round trip to try this place out since a friend recommended it to me. I picked up 2 beef tacos and one pork taco plus a pork quesadilla. For $4 a taco, I wish they would give me a not half torn tortilla. The meat all fell out when I tried to pick it up to eat. The guacamole had turned brown so I didn't try it. Chicken: it was super dry and I did not get pieces of chicken I got crumbles. It was so sad because I saw it cooking and I was super excited Asada: Got bigger pieces but it was also super dry Pastor: I got a pastor taco that was 40% fat. I've had plenty of veggie burritos from all over the place and theirs passes the vibe check. It's pretty large and full of rice, beans, fresh avocado, and cilantro. I love the flavor of cilantro! If you don't, you might want to ask them to hold it (or give it to me lol). The place was clean. There are treats at the register for your furry friends, (and for dogs, too). This spot only offers four types of meat: 1) adobada pork  2) grilled chicken 3) asada steak and 4) jamaica hibiscus. Every single option is fire and PACKED with smokey flavor. I'm flexitarian most days, but I had to cheat today.  * The service: Our server, Estaphany, went above and beyond to help us as first-timers to the restaurant. She offered to give us samples of all the protein options. She patiently walked us threw the menu options, and she brought our food to us outside. Give that woman a raise STAT! * The prices: My two taco combo that also came with rice, beans and a drink cost $9.95 pre-tax. My hubby's pork burrito cost $11.95 pre-tax. * Parking: There's an adjacent lot with room for 10 or so cars. It doesn't take long to get food, so you'll rarely have to wait for a spot. We were in the mood for Mexican for dinner this weekend and after finding TacoMasa on Yelp and reading the overwhelmingly positive reviews, we knew we needed to make a trip to check it out. The attached parking lot is small and is shared with at least one other restaurant but there were several open spots when we arrived on Saturday afternoon. As we walked in, we saw the bags of charcoal against the wall and the delicious smell of charcoal grilled meat greeted us- it smelled wonderful! The friendly cashier asked if it was our first time there and offered us samples of each of their meats - asada (steak), adobada (pork), and Pollo asada (chicken). They were all smokey from the grill, seasoned well, and delicious. We decided to share an asada chips (nachos with meat of your choice, guacamole, shredded cheese, and salsa), 2 taco combo - one adobada and one asada (2 tacos of your choice with small sides of rice, beans, and a drink), and elote (Mexican street corn on the cob with mayo, butter, cotija cheese, Tajin, and hot sauce). There is some counter space to eat inside as well as about 5 picnic tables on the patio. We found a spot outside and waited until our number was called. We enjoyed everything we ordered - the tacos had house made corn tortillas and ample filling, the nachos were packed with meat, cheese and guac (they don't just put the toppings on the very top, they were all nicely distributed throughout!), and the elote was well cooked and flavorful. Even the small sides of rice and beans were super tasty - we only wish the portions for those were a bit bigger. Overall this was a great find. Okay we need to clarify something with my review. Here I was like thinking how can I start this? The internal dialogue was thinking about something like, How's about changing the name from TacoMasa to like TacoMore-sa since I liked it so much! Oh so funny hardy har, but then I realized like the name is actually "Mas" as in "More" in Spanish! Okay so they stole my super funny review start and I am just fine with it. Five stars huh? Many of you in Yelp land who know me, know that I do not give out this rating often, this place well deserves it. Let's start with the introduction as we stepped in the building. A large stack of charcoal stacked up gave me hope that we would have some amazing fire grilled meat. Get to the front, the cashier immediately offered us some samples of the meat and I was smitten. The customer service was fabulous but I was in love with that Carne. Decided to order Carne topped nachos, a two taco combo with carne and pork tacos and an elote to top it all off for me and my family. As you can tell with the rating, it was all incredible. Again, the customer service was so incredibly friendly, the tables and inside of the place was clean and everyone behind the counter was working hard to create our meal. They make their own tortillas there so I was enamored with the corn tortilla machine that they have pressing the tortillas for the tacos. I will admit that I am not normally one that orders elote but I have had many roasted corn at like a swap meet or fair in the past. Maybe it was totally normal but when I bit into Taco Masa's version I had a complete shock of flavors come at my mouth from different angles. There was a Tapatio like flavor that had a chili, kinda vinegary flavor but then there was cheese and I think mayo that all blended together with a cheesey sweetness from the corn. To say the least, I enjoyed it and will surely go for it again as I return. The chips under the carne were a great thickness to support the meat and guacamole. What struck me was how fresh and the quality of the ingredients just hit my mouth ready to be noticed. I felt like a kid waking up early for a day at Disneyland--excited for something new. I remembered driving by Tacomasa and decided to give it a try. The customer service was spot on from the moment we walked in. As I checked out the menu, I wanted to try everything! I ended up ordering a quesadilla with lengua (my personal favorite), four carne asada tacos, and two al pastor tacos. Don't worry, I was sharing! The al pastor tacos were hands down my favorite, bursting with flavor. The portions are huge I'll give them that but I am not a fan of their sauces or the way they present their rice and beans... it comes off as really cheap and tacky by placing them in small plastic cups. Me and my buddy were in the area craving tacos, and we found this spot through Instagram. I went with the 3 queso tacos--adobada, asada, and pollo. They were solid overall. The al pastor had good flavor but was a bit on the greasy side for my taste; I prefer it a little lighter. Service was great--fast and friendly. I heard about Tacomasa in Social media so I decided to give it a try over the weekend. We ordered the tacos trio (asada, chicken, & barbacoa) the tacos were the regular size homemade tortillas with lots of meat and fresh avocado and pico de gallo. We also ordered an elote with mayo, cheese, tajin, and chile. The tacos were excellent same with the elote. They also have tortas, quesadillas, and burritos. So after a year I still think this place has good quality food but what I have noticed is that their quality is not consistent when you order through delivery. There have been many times when I have ordered a burrito and there is hardly any meat in it. I even ask for extra meat and nothing changes. I kept ordering thinking that maybe it was just a bad time but no it has been consistent with every delivery order. The only consistent item is a bean and cheese burrito. If you go in to get your food that is not an issue. This is disappointing because I think their food tastes amazing but when I order a carne asada burrito I expect to get that not a mostly bean and rice burrito. Was stoked to hear a restaurant serving Tijuana-style tacos opened up in the Long Beach area! The prices seemed a little steep at first for $3.75/ea, but as we were eating our tacos, we realized how hefty and loaded each one was with meat. They don't skimp out on the meat portions and bonus points for handmade tortillas. Indoor seating is quite limited with just a bar against the wall with maybe 10 stools max. There are tables outside but can be an issue if it's raining or cold like when we visited. Adobada Tacos (4/5): Marinated pork topped with avocado sauce. These are the only ones I tried and although a little spicy for my liking, still loved it. Asada Taco (5/5): I didn't get to try these but someone who was with me said it was his favorite of all the different meats he tried. Admittedly a bit dry, but very well filled with tender steak strips. Definitely worth giving it a shot if you're local to the area. :) read more

For how cool the set up is here (a homemade tortilla maker on display, a big spit of pork spinning around, and a veggie option that uses Jamaica) the food is really a let down, and it was NOT CHEAP! Tacos are $3.75 each no matter what they are. Yes, $3.75 for the Jamaica one as well. We got 4 tacos "con todo" as the sign enthusiastically encourages you to do when waiting in line. We made sure to try all options, the asada (steak), the adobada (pork), and the Jamaica (or hibiscus). Ok, the tacos are larger than your average street taco, but it was just more of something that didn't taste all that great. The tortillas, for being homemade, were really flavorless and not a great consistency. The asada needed more salt and more heat, the pork just tasted like something that should be served with rice on a plate but not necessarily in a taco, and the hibiscus taco was just odd. I love adventurous eating and I am happy they took a chance on a veggie option that didn't take the normal route of fake meats or just grilled onions, but this one with all that citrus flavor that Jamaica inherently has is just not pleasant to eat. Lastly, I have a suspicion the guacamole has mayonnaise in to make it creamier. There is a shelf of 1 gallon economy-sized mayonnaise jars above the grill next to the other bulk storage ingredients. Also, my wife is vegan and they made sure to let us know that the guacamole was not vegan. Those are the reasons for my theory along with the odd taste of the guacamole. The mayonnaise could very well be just for the tortas, so I can't say for sure, but the guac was wack. Try it and let me know if you disagree. We will not be back for $3.75 street tacos that taste bland and have a funky guacamole on them. read more

I love tacos el gordo (TEG), but it's such a hassle driving down to San Diego for it. That's why I was excited that a TJ style taco place opened nearby. This place has my favorite meats from TEG such as the adobada and asada. The price may look hefty at first with $3.75 a taco, but you'll understand why after. The tacos are loaded with meat and they use handmade tortillas for their asada tacos. I order two asadas and adobadas each for myself to eat in the car since it was raining outside and the indoor seats were filled. Asada taco (5/5): The carne asada taco is a taco with steak loaded inside a fluffy handmade tortilla and topped with cilantro and guacamole. This was my favorite taco from TEG and is my favorite taco here as well. The meat was a bit dry, but was loaded with tender steak strips. The guacamole was also refreshing with the taco. I also loved the handmade tortilla because of how fluffy it was. Adobada tacos (5/5): These pork tacos are marinated and topped with avocado sauce. The adobada is the most popular meat at TEG and this tasted exactly the same, but even more loaded. I really enjoyed this one as it is a bit spicy as well. I had driven by TacoMasa so many times, so now that it's open I decided to try it for lunch. The interior is small and there are no seats inside, though there are several large picnic tables outdoors and even a small parking lot. The menu is not too big and I was secretly hoping they had cuts like lengua and tripa, but the vegetarian jamaica option was intriguing (you actually eat the hibiscus flower). Food is a bit pricey but so is rent in this area and portions were decent. I ordered a jamaica taco, adobada mulita, and asada torta. Everything was delicious, and I really liked their salsas. The guacamole topping definitely confirmed my suspicion that they were Tijuana-style tacos, which the history on the wall inside explains (they are just missing that piece of paper they always use with tacos in Tijuana). A great spot to walk to after a sporting event at Woodrow Wilson HS. Tacos were generous portions for under $4 and comes with cheese, guacamole and salsa. Flavors were excellent. Marinated pork rests on a rotating spit which the cook will shave off and grill fresh to order. The tacos and quesadilla were delicious. The quesadilla gets cheese grilled right on the iron to add a lovely crust to it. Pork tacos get heated corn tortillas dipped in butter/oil? So good.
