This restaurant has surprisingly really good tacos. I had the grill chicken taco on the soft and hard shell. They both tasted delicious, but I have to say I liked the hard shell bit better just because it had a more variety of crunchy flavors that went with the flavor of the stuffing in the taco. The creamed corn (cheese is on top of it) also tasted delicious. The service of the restaurant was also good. In summary, this restaurant has some really good food and service. read more

Unbelievable. Will be returning. They were SUPER busy when we went. Staff said WAY busier than usual for a week night. Ended up waiting 45 min for food, they comped all of our food, even several others in the restaurant. Service was impeccable. Tried this T4L for the first time tonight. We needed food to go, so I went through the drive-thru. We tried the crab cake, chipotle steak, crispy eggplant, and mahi-mahi tacos. I also ordered the three-dip combo and a side of received black beans. We found all of the items to be delicious. The salsa and beans were both pleasingly spicy, everything was well-seasoned, and the food all seemed fresh and high-quality (the guacamole was outstanding too!). I've seen some reviews claiming that Torchy's is superior, but having eaten Torchy's a number of times and never being terribly impressed, we'd go with T4L every time based on our initial experience. I also found it to be a really solid value (less than $30) given the quantity of food. We'll be looking forward to next time! read more

Here's the thing: If I didn't know torchys existed this may be a 4 star review, but let's be real...I do and i hate to say it but it just doesn't compare. First of all we ordered my wife's tacos off the gluten free menu assuming that they would make all the necessary adjustments for whatever we ordered for them to be totally gluten free. Well unfortunately that was not the case. Her tacos came in flour tortillas. Had to have them remade. When they finally came they only brought 1 back. So had to ask for the other taco. Finally got it by the time I was completely done eating. The food itself is OK. The guy who helped us was nice about the process but it was just not a great experience. The pictures I had seen looked so good and it didn't disappoint! I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch and Chorizo tacos. I expected to like the chicken more but the Chorizo was by far my favorite. The jalapeños were sliced and grilled and the flavors went well with the creamed corn. So good! It was a little greasy but that's expected with Chorizo. The Chicken taco didn't taste good to me. The sauce was bitter and the chicken tasted bad. The Chorizo was worth coming back for and I'd like to try other tacos! For my side I got the queso rice, hot. They basically put some kinda of red sauce on top to make it spicy but it wasn't really that spicy. read more

EDIT: After reaching out the management invited us back to try everything again. All of the below critiques had been resolved and the food was MUCH better. Definitely will be going back again and love what this company stands for. I wanted so badly for this to be a new favorite, but I don't think I'll be trying it again soon. First, I want to say I love the message, the branding, the vibe, and every person we met was so nice and courteous. Truly excellent service that management should be proud of. However I'm a taco fanatic. My wife and I love making several types of tacos at home and regularly frequent taco trucks and restaurants all over. Sadly we ordered a wide assortment to try and there was very little that was satisfactory. I'll post for each item. But Two things apply on all tacos. One is that they are a bit larger than a normal street taco. This is important because it made it difficult to get a balanced bite, you couldn't get some of everything in. When the flavors are off balanced, a bite of all meat and all toppings matters. Two is that the puffy taco tortilla itself was the best part of the whole meal. Those were good on all tacos. Chipotle Taco - It was a bit over salted and was cold which was odd for how busy they were. Carnitas Taco - My wife ordered this and it was a bit too greasy for her. I didn't mind it as much but did notice it. The main problem was the seasoning was just awful. It was like someone spilled cinnamon in the marinade and it threw everything off balance. A background note would have been ok, but there was nothing subtle about it. Crab Cake Taco - we both ordered one. The crab cake itself was cold and mushy. There was no crispy edge at all. The lettuce/slaw and sauce below was also overpowering and you could either take a bite of the crab cake or of lettuce that was too strong. Korean Taco - this was my favorite. I did not hate it. It was just a bit too greasy. There was so much good flavor, but it was almost too strong in certain bites. The won tons were a nice touch. Chips and Queso - the chips were a bit cold and bland. They had put a seasoning on them, but it did little to help. The queso was mediocre and oddly so runny that it was hard not to drip everywhere even after tapping off any excess. Queso rice - I didn't try this but my wife said it was very bland and boring. Creamed Corn - I have to admit I've only had traditional American creamed corn, so I may not be comparing this to something that is fair, but it really wasn't creamy. It was more just mashed corn and a bit grainy. Might just not be my thing. All in all, I think there are some good ideas happening here, but it almost seems like they tried too hard with sauces/toppings and missed the mark on execution. It could be tha this place it new and needs to be dialed in, but I have a feeling that it may be the recipes. Again, I truly wanted to like this place and hate writing a bad review when I do respect what they're trying to do, I guess I'm just hoping they read some of these thoughts and it helps them. We were so excited to try this place! We went late, about 8pm and it was a disaster. It was really, really dirty. The young lady taking our order did not say hi, nothing. Took our order and I even commented "we don't know what we're doing, this is our first time here" to which she said nothing, not a word, but was friendly to the customers before and after us, maybe because we're gay? I didn't want to do this. I anticipated the opening and told so many people. I looked up the history and found out about the charity giving and the volunteer work. I was so excited and then finally was able to make it out here and all my hopes were dashed by a ice cold taco and queso rice. All the reviews on how much were in the tacos, well something changed. The line went slow and then to watch a staff member get off the register to go visit someone in a booth. However, we did watch them say "F$$k this place" and quit right in front of us. We did vocalize our concerns, but weren't met with normal customer service, basically you want another or A money back. The young lady who helped us was so nice and informative and seemed to enjoy her position. There seemed to be enough staff but it gave an appearance of being disorganized. I don't understand why the food was cold and why the taco meet wasonly writing this because someone made a huge investment in Bixby and it is a wonderful idea but if these type of concerns aren't addressed, there will be a beautiful empty building. As for me, I won't go back. Update: the owners reached out and listened to our experience. We told them we would try them again. This time, the workers were happily performing their duties, the restaurant was busy and the food was being served promptly and they were keeping up with table turnover. I've never written a review...but the two young ladies, Makenna and Olivia, who were working the drive-thru tonight were amazing. I ordered my food, drove up and realized I left my debit card at home. I had some cash, but was short $1.00. I asked them to take something off my order, but instead the 2 of them found a dollar between them and added it to my cash so I could have everything I ordered. 3rs visit was pretty disappointing. Once we ordered EVERY table was dirty and they were not that busy. The one person cleaning up appeared to pick up one piece of trash at a time, take it to the trash can, repeat.... Didn't see any manager to help or speed things up. The "good" news is our 4 tacos took 20 minutes to arrive so we had time to wait for a table to be available . Opted for lettuce instead of tortillas and the sliver of lettuce on each wasn't wide enough to even be picked up reasonably. If there is management there (mostly teenagers) they need to get involved! read more

Unimpressed. I had the Korean beef taco and mango habanero chicken taco. Both were disappointing. It didn't taste like anything was made there, except for maybe the protein. The sauce on the Korean one and salsa on the chicken tasted like something I could pick off the shelf at any grocery store. Very generic, and not very good. Even the tortillas don't seem made in the restaurant either, they're exactly like a tortilla you'd buy prepackaged at a grocery store too, but not even reheated on a skillet for a little added texture like I would make them at home. I get yesterday was May 5th. However, we drove over to the restaurant and went through the drive thru. It's was probably right around 11:30. The parking lot was pretty empty at this point. The drive thru had several cars, but we only waited a few minutes to place our order. We order, she gives me a total and ask for my name, we move up one spot, at this point there are 2 cars from the window. Everything came to a halt. We then sat for about 40 minutes until we finally made it to the drive thru window. A man comes and ask us the name on the order, you can see him looking around, drive thru attendant ask if my name is Morgan, nope. Then ask what my order was, then comes and ask again...at this point we've waited 45 minutes from the time we ordered. Nope....I am leaving, not re ordering, not going to continue to hold the line up. The problem is, they are taking way too many online/phone in orders and didn't know their head from their ass. The parking lot was full of cars waiting for orders, the drive thru line is circling the building..because it's not moving at all! People could also walk in an order. They need to limit the online orders. I had eaten at Tacos 4 life when it first opened, it was super busy then, but ran smoothly. It will be a very long time for me to go back, if I ever choose to, and will be awhile for me to recommend them. read more
