    Al pastor tacos

If you're going to get one thing, get the Al pastor. Lately, it's been harder to get good Al pastor, grilled, and seasoned to perfection WITH a pineapple. Service was impeccable despite the language barrier. All the staff were so friendly and tried their best to explain the meats and items. The toppings bar and salsa were outstanding as well. It can be a little tricky to find parking but just park further down the street and walk over!

Was craving ribs so we came here. A little busy but worth the wait. Lots to choose from. Had to try their ribs and I wasn't disappointed. Cooked to my liking with plenty of meat. Also tried two loaded bake potatoes. Very impressive. One is more than enough. A visit isn't complete without trying their asada tacos. Not too shabby but the star of the show was the potatoes.I do love their many choices for salsa. Especially their avocado one. Will definitely come back.

I need to come back again! Best taco de lengua I've tried so far! The costilla was juicy and tender. 10/10 for me.

I consider myself a street taco connoisseur. I've eaten them everywhere from Mexico to Chicago. So I think I'm a pretty good judge on tacos/burritos. I saw this stand with a super long line when I was getting food from SoulMex. I thought it must be good with a line like that. So I went, got a asada/chile relleno burrito, and an asada taco. I appreciate the handmade tortillas, but everything else was just average. The meat didn't really have any flavor, and was bland without salsa. The salsa itself was also just average. There are definitely better stands out there.

With respect to service and ambiance, this place is just fantastic. It felt like I was invited to the neighborhood carne asada without having to be friends or family with any of the other guests! There's a self service toppings and salsa bar and a small bench to eat or wait. They specialize in beef and all things related. Meaning, they have asada tacos but are known for the lengua and labio and cabeza. I myself got the lengua and labio. I usually wouldn't order those cuts when going to my usual taco spots, but was told or read somewhere that this was the place to order those cuts. Really happy to have tried those. The place seemed really busy as well, so you know it's a beloved neighborhood spot. Parking was a little tough, but it is literally parking in a suburban residential area. It was a bit on the crowded side so I parked two blocks away.

The tortilla here is steamed and the meat is super tender, flavorful and juicy. Portions are generous and service is quick. There's toppings on the side you can add along with (very spicy) salsa. I also love that they have real Mexican coke with less sugar. Run, don't walk. I'd give this place six stars if I could.

I recently came here for a late night eat. [Parking]: Easy and free street parking - I had no issue finding an available spot. [Ordering]: Customers can actually do a phone order ahead of time. There was a small crowd on Friday at 9 PM, but I didn't wait too long to receive my order. There was a salsa bar with green, red, and habanero sauces. I was a fan of green sauce, but the other two salsas were too spicy for me. [Atmosphere]: No tables with just portable chairs to sit. I ended up eating inside of my car. [Menu]: Meat options include asada (beef), al pastor (marinated pork), cabeza (beef cheek), chorizo (Mexican sausage), lengua (tongue), tripa (beef guts), buche (pork belly), suadero (beef brisket), and pollo (chicken). Customers can order taco, tortas, nachos, mulitas, burritos, asada fries, quesadillas, and california burrito. *** Asada Taco and Al Pastor Taco ($2.34 per taco including 4% credit card fee): These were double-layered tortillas and I liked al pastor better than asada. Not the best al pastor taco I have had, but decent enough. This specific style of al pastor had no pineapple & came with sliced cucumbers off the side. Absolutely delicious s-tier grilled onion. *** This is a solid late night taco spot in East LA that actually accepts credit cards.

Don't forget to take a picture by the "Cinco Puntos" sign on the wall and the well-known tree nearby! The food was edible, I ordered a carnitas taco with chicharrón. The meat itself was flavorful, chicharron nice and crunchy and I liked that you get to choose your own toppings. The tortillas are handmade, which many people will appreciate, although they were a little thicker than I personally prefer. If you enjoy authentic, handmade tortillas, this place may be more your style. The service was the highlight of our visit. Everyone was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and kind. It was an extremely hot day, and one of the ladies even gave my daughter a small bag of ice to play with and cool off, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Thank you for going the extra mile. There is a small parking lot, and we were able to find street parking right in front near the outdoor tables. The outside seating area was perfectly fine for enjoying our meal. The biggest downside for me was the cleanliness inside the restaurant. While nothing prevented us from eating there, I felt the interior could really benefit from a deep cleaning. Overall, I'm glad we visited and experienced such a well-known East L.A. landmark. While I probably wouldn't return because it wasn't quite my personal preference, I can still recommend it to anyone looking for authentic carnitas, handmade tortillas, and a piece of East Los Angeles history.
