Their menu did seem on the pricier side. I went in there solely wanting to sit at the bar and to get an appetizer. The bar was kind of full so we sat at a high table instead. I guess on Fridays they have a band as well since they were setting that up while we were there. Joshua was our server and took good care of us. Seems like a family owned and operated restaurant since his family owns it. He even hooked us up with a shot! Thanks, Joshua! Wanted to try something that felt like home, so we stopped by Tacos & Beer Mi Lindo. The food was honestly a 10/10--so bomb, we loved everything we ordered. Service was good, and the ambience was clean, chill, and not crowded, which made it a nice spot to just relax and enjoy the meal. Overall, it was a great experience. The only downside was that there were a few food flies lingering around our table, which was a little off-putting. We also didn't receive the usual complimentary chips and cheese you sometimes get at Hispanic restaurants, but I know every place does things differently. Super fun during the World Cup games! Beer was cold and food was tasty. The carnitas nachos were overflowing in the best way and the potato taco was a crunchy little fiesta. It was basically enchiladas with overcooked, rubbery shrimp, and a green sauce that did not taste like poblano peppers at all. The plate came with 3 enchiladas. I only managed to eat one. My husband ordered the ahi tuna ceviche. He hated it. He loves spice, so he asked for the spiciest sauce on it. He swore it was the exact same sauce he gets all the time at the grocery store. This location brings back so many memories allllll the way back to El Torito many many years ago My wife works at the mall and we constantly kept looking at this place so we finally had a date night a few months ago here and were very impressed We were quickly seated, which was nice... and I wish I wrote down the name of our server cause he was great, too Ordered some rolled tacos and an asada torta... both came out very quickly and super hot and fresh! I really wanted to enjoy this spot. I first visited during their soft opening and decided to give it another try about a year later, hoping to see some improvement. Unfortunately, the flavors still felt a bit lacking. The taco meat was bland and chewy, the tortillas were cold, and the green salsa didn't have much seasoning. I also tried the tamarindo margarita on the rocks, but couldn't really taste the tamarind or lime--though the tequila was fine. After a few visits, this place just isn't quite for me. Tacos and beer Temecula There are three parts to this review and honestly a 3.6 is about four times what they deserve Hands-down, the absolute worst chili relleno I've ever had in my life I was fortunate at one time to have a chili relleno from Ninfa's in Houston who was the originator of Tex-Mex restaurants over 50 years ago I am aware that there's 100 different ways to make a chili relleno, but this place flopped on every single aspect - I have had plenty in the American South West & all over Mexico You expect your chilies to be fat and plump and stuff with cheese, possibly with a batter and then with a light sauce with onions and other things on top ( & maybe more cheese), there was none of the above This was flat thinner than a pancake with a dark red sauce, which I wouldn't even put on pasta, no flavoring, no pepper or onions or anything on it no taste of garlic anywhere. The cheese was totally uninspiring and again there was no redeeming aspect to this chille relleno whatsoever. A frozen dish from Trader Joe's or the often popular Fridas, which are heated up are 10x times better than this pathetic version Part two of the service Although it was a Thursday about 12:30 the restaurant was not packed. They're only two other tables in our section but the server couldn't give a damn. Never brought out chips or salsa my guest had to go out and get their own salsa and we had to request chips three times to get a small portion in a basket. The server never asked how the food was because I would've told them it was awful. They never even came back to refill any drinks There was a nice young man. I think he was busing tables and seating people. He actually refilled my drink (thanks) overall the service was a zero as was the food The next ZERO goes to the store manager we think his name was Bruno, Called three times told me he was coming in some time. If you are just using those as decor I would like to drink the contents and give you back empty to place back in your display. Ordered margaritas and ceviche once we sat and we were almost done with our appetizer by the time the 2 margaritas showed up. We usually come 1-2 times a month and every time this happens. We used to order multiple rounds of drinks but now it takes way too long. Today..My quesa taco was black. Very burnt and by the time anyone checked it was too late, my family was halfway done eating. The girl that set it down in front of me even gave me an apologetic look before running off. We asked for extra plates and waited about 5 minutes for them. So I don't know why I haven't reviewed this place yet as My family and I have been here a few times and came once more since we were in the area this last Sunday. I suppose if I really have to think on it - it must be because nothing truly stood out to me as having to yelp about.. It is more lively and has better decor which adds to the overall ambiance. If you have visited before but haven't in a while- know that there have been changes to the menu. The new one is pared down to a simple laminate 2 pager. I remember the old one being more visually appealing and having more options? My kids were disappointed to hear an item they used to order is no*longer available- the Hot Cheetoh elote (corn). They still have it- albeit not the hot cheetoh crumbs as a topping. For this visit- For Drinks I want to note that I appreciated how strong the Margarita flight I ordered was even if I tend to prefer a sweeter more alcohol disguising cocktail. This time I was ok with tasting a little bit more of the liquor than just sweetness that sometimes tends to happen with some margaritas. Made me feel like I got a good bang for my buck with the flight- so to speak lol. As far as my husband's michelada- I have definitely tasted better. For food, My husband ordered the larger size of Aguachile verde. Which I appreciated because it was too much for him and I gladly took it over. This is definitely a plate I would reorder. When tasting- I instantly let out an audible MMM after trying my first bite. The flavor was amazinggg! For myself- I had ordered a ceviche sampler off the appetizers, I figured it was a good way to try several of their ceviches. I wished I hadn't. All I can remember from the overall samples is that they were lacking in the salt/ flavor that I am accustomed to in ceviches. I didnt even finish them, my mother who didnt want them to go to waste had to help me. Needless to say it is not on my reorder list. My kiddos ordered the T&B sushi roll and while it tasted fine to them. I was not a fan. For dessert we tried my moms plate of platano frito with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream as a topping. While the adults liked it, my kids were not fans of the platano itself. I guess you could say its more a texture adult latinos like. Overall- for the ambiance and cocktail drinks alone I would return. As far as the food menu- I feel it is hit or miss usually but I would like to try more things off their newer menu. Five Stars! We had family visiting from out of town and chose Tacos and Beer for a birthday celebration -- and wow, what a great decision! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure our night was perfect. A big shoutout to Alina the hostess, who truly went the extra mile. Despite the restaurant being super busy and our party being around 8 people, she rearranged tables and even helped bus one just to make sure we had enough space. She also got our drink orders started while we waited for our server, which really kept things moving smoothly.
