This a busy mall in the area but we're glad we found this place. Start out with complimentary homemade chips and salsa where you have a choice regular or spicy salsa! Love that . On weekends table side guacamole is available which was bomb. Chile verde was savory and tender , perfectly cooked. Chicken fajitas was good but slightly underwhelming and you really need the homemade salsa on everything. Solid choice and the also have great lunch specials on the weekdays. My gripe here has always been the service which is very lacking and I'm constantly looking to flag someone down to find my server

Solid Mexican food in the are! Sit down spot and we only had to wait a little bit for a big group. Big portions and lots of chips to start

I wanted to love this, but unfortunately it lacked too much. The Chile Colorado was tasty, there was just not nearly enough of it in the tostada bowl. The tableside guacamole was fresh and good.

We love La Cocina! This place is always packed and it's for good reason. I typically sit in the bar whether I'm coming in for a drink or for my very favorite the Enchiladas Tapatías. Fernanda is the best she always takes great care of us. Although it's a busy spot it does feel somewhat intimate since the seating is mostly booths. Like I said I usually sit in the bar so there's about 4 round high top tables and a bar top that maybe seats 8-10? I recommend coming in and getting a drink from Fernanda and order my favorite enchiladas.

My friends and I stopped by this restaurant after discovering that our first choice had a long wait. We managed to snag a table outside on the patio since our dogs were with us, and a lovely server greeted us. He was entertaining and helpful, but because we were the only guests outside, he often seemed to forget about us. For appetizers, we ordered freshly made guacamole to go with our chips and salsa. It was my first time seeing guacamole made right in front of me, and I could add or remove ingredients as I liked--I should have asked for extra salt. For entrees, I wasn't very hungry, so I opted for the ceviche de pescado. Other dishes ordered by my friends included carne asada tacos (oddly, they didn't offer street tacos), shrimp cocktail, and chicken salad. Overall, everything tasted decent, but nothing really stood out. When we finally got the check, we were surprised by a 20% service fee added to the bill without any prior warning or explanation. It was a mandatory fee, and the receipt noted that it didn't count as a tip for the servers. This soured our entire experience, and we don't plan to return to this establishment.

One of our favorite places to eat - great food! Try the table side guacamole too. We eat here several times a month, it's so good.

    Do they sell gift cards?

I stopped in about a month ago to purchase a gift card and was informed that they no longer sell them.

Does this restaurant still do Sunday brunch? If so, how does it work and what's the cost?

Unfortunately they are not. They don’t know when they will restart it. We are all sad about it. :(

Is this restaurant still open? I have called several times, and the phone just rings and rings.

Yes they are still open. However, their Sunday brunch buffet is currently unavailable.

Can we get margaritas thru take-out here? 👀

Hello, please call us at 951-302-6233 or 951-345-3721.

Do they take Restaurant.com certificates? If they do, are there any days it can't be used?

This place has always been our go to Mexican restaurant when we come down here. We came on cinco de mayo which was busy and we had waited 20 minutes for a table which we expected. So we placed are order. Wife asked for the 2 taco special with no sour cream. I order the same thing with no cheese or sour cream. I did that cause I'm lactose intolerant. The waitress stated that they can't substitute? I'm not substituting anything. Just don't add it. The "manager" came over and said we can't substitute? I stated I'm not substituting anything, just don't want cheese or sour cream. He said since they're busy cause of cinco de mayo they can't do it which tells me they can't handle a large amount of customers and there food they make in the back there cooks are auto pilot and get devate from the normal operation. We have been here before and "NEVER" had a problem with the way we ordered but today was an issue which tells me things are difficult especially if busy. We will not be back cause it was just a simple request and they couldn't fulfill that. We went over to Rosa's and tortilla factory which is down the street and it was good and "much cheaper ". I will never recommend Guadalajara to anyone anymore cause they couldn't handle a simple request.

With that being said, parking can be difficult because Old Town tends to get very busy on a Saturday. We walked in and it was not busy. The host/server told us to pick any table we would like. We chose outside, but they had just cleaned up the area, so our chairs were stacked. The host/server quickly helped us get the chairs down and place them at our table. The server was attentive and kept checking in on us. Now the food. When we were sat down, we were given complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were perfect and not overly salty or greasy. The salsa was very mild and had a great flavor. I ordered a 2 taco combo plate ($14.95) with carne asada and carnitas. The carne asada was just okay, it was cut into thicker piece, which is not my preference. It was also topped with guacamole, which was not the best I've had. The carnitas however were magnificent topped with pickled onions, cilantro, and salsa. The rice was not traditional Mexican rice and did have a bit of a crunch to it rather than a toast before cooking. The beans were just plain pinto beans, not refried beans, but they were good. While this place, is not extremely traditional, it is a great spot in Old Town Temecula with fairly good food. I'm looking forward to coming back again.

I noticed Espadín had tables and thought it was worth a shot. Also, it was getting really hot and I was ready for some air conditioning. We were seated immediately and our server got our drinks. We ordered a grilled Caesar salad, green chilaquiles with eggs, and guacamole. The guacamole was so fresh and had a great lime flavor. The grilled Caesar was the star of the show! The dressing was amazing. The chilaquiles were also good. I was a little nervous at first since they weren't busy when we walked in compared to the other restaurants on the street, but it ended up being a great surprise how good everything was!
