Was staying right up the street for around 2 weeks and saw that this place was near. Was not starving but was kind of hungry so decided to check this place out. The girl behind the counter was really nice. I got two Pork Al Pastor tacos. And to be honest I was surprised at how underwhelmed I was with them. First- the salsa selection is great and tasty. The pork in the tacos were very undercooked. I understand there aren't big risk factors with undercooked pork, but it was a bit surprising. Also the establishment was super hot inside. I couldn't wait to walk outside where the weather felt significantly better. Also was not a fan of the pork marinade. I give this place 1 star for the beer that came from a bottle. 55 minutes wait for food . Then I ordered a Carne Asada quesadilla had no meat and no cheese. My coworkers and I have been desperately trying to find a place for decent tacos around where we work(Irvine). We tried a few places including some of the taco trucks in the area(very few that we found) and none of them hit the spot....until we discovered Tacos & Co. Although the prices of these tacos aren't the same as the ones in Santa Ana and LA, it is still very tasty. We tried the carne asada and al pastor and both meats were good quality and tasted delicious. They give plenty of meat to fill the soft corn tortilla. I would actually give them 5 stars if it weren't for their salsas. They have a salsa bar which is a plus but none of the salsas were spicy and none of them tasted that great. The happy hour specials are ridiculous here and I'll be coming back to check it out again very soon. read more

Very much average. Large menu, great selection, sometimes that is a restaurants downfall. Not a huge fan of their meats, also they really don't give you much of it, we had al pastor tacos and burritos and both were rather skimpy for the price. Today I ordered what must've been the chicken quesadilla from hell. Bad tasting, over-burnt charcoal bitterness, poorly prepared, and gives you bad stomach ache for hours, all for seven dollars. Shouldve went to El Pollo Loco and gotten one off their dollar menu, cuz that thing is great! And you can buy 7 of them for the same price. I had a carnitas burrito ( los cabos style) with Cheese, Guacamole, Sour Cream, Salsa Fresca, Piquin Sauce & Tomatillo Sauce. It was around $6.50 with tax. I finished the whole burrito in 10 minutes, and still had enough room for a drink next door. The carnitas was juicy and soft, but there was barely anything in the burrito. There was twice as much tortilla wrap compared to the filling. You have the option of adding beans & rice for an extra $.99 cents, but that is just ridiculous. I think that all burritos should come with beans and rice.. no wonder why my burrito was so empty looking & feeling. I will come here again for their happy hour $1 tacos. read more

Spent another Taco Tuesday at Tacos & Co for their happy hour. We arrived a few minutes before happy hour ended so we were able to order some $1 steak and chicken tacos and get a pitcher of Modelo for $5.49. We wanted two pitchers, so the staff had us pay for both of them during happy hour, and brought us the second pitcher even after happy hour was over. Suchhh great service right? The steak and chicken tacos were pretty good. Last time I tried the fish tacos and shrimp tacos. They're a little more expensive but soooo worth the price - the shrimp tacos are delicious! I had time before my next tutoring session so decided to check this place out for an early lunch. It was my first time there and after reading the descriptions on the menu, I decided to order the BURRITO LOS CABOS (CARNITAS) w/ RED BEANS and RICE for an additional $0.99. The BURRITO LOS CABOS = Choice of meat (I chose carnitas), cheese, guacamole, sour cream, salsa fresca, piquin sauce, and tomatillo sauce. Presentation was neat and nicely placed. The burrito itself was so juicy. Whenever I took a bite, juice would just run down the sides. The carnita meat was very soft and tender. The only complaint I would have would be that the burrito was salty. I couldn't finish it all because of the saltiness of the carnitas. I really wished there was more sour cream or quacamole or salsa fresca to balance it out, because all I could really taste was salt, which I assume came from the meat. The other sides were well done. Overpriced for what you get. This place has potential, but doesn't utilize it. Its just another generic place where you order your food then sit down. Some of the salsas are decent, but the food itself is often times not as spiced as you'd want it to be. Portions are kind of meager, too. The nachos here are decent, but not great. But they would be the first thing I'd order. Or the taquitos. But other than that, its kind of a No Man' s Land. The steak is mediocre, and the al pastor is actually pretty good. The burritos are very clean and tightly packed and resemble something similar to baja fresh. I get full from getting a gordo burrito with no beans so it's pretty decent portions. Pricewise it's alright, most things are around $2 for tacos and about $6 for burritos. However, I was excited to see a Tacos & Co joint in the Wholesome Choice shopping center as I had always had a good experience with the location in Costa Mesa. Fortunately, they didn't disappoint...I was particularly a fan of their daily 'happy hour' (3-6pm) with $1 tacos. We got their steak taco (really yummy street taco style), carnitas taco (a little bland but not bad), and their al pastor taco (by far the best tasting...loved the marinade).
