Tacos Baja is now in my rotation for places to eat when visiting this area. They are known for their Wednesday taco special. Instead, I show up on weekends. The staff is helpful and is good at suggestions. They even told me that I ordered too much. Their mojarra is pretty large and come with rice, beans and tortillas. It is almost enough for 2 people to share. My wife is not a fan of their caldos as she says it is a little fishy. Their fish tacos are fried and comes with a big hunk of fish. I'm liking this place. First time coming to their new location. This place has more room and better parking. The inside is well kept and the staff is friendly and efficient with the amount of customers coming and going. They have a TV which was playing a sporting game. We had the shrimp and fish tacos which had generous portions. I love the chilies that are here. Service was super quick and easy going. Prices are very reasonable and the quality of the fish tacos are superb. But if you visited Tacos Baja before well you already knew that. The tortillas used are full of flavor. This is their new location just down the street. Place has been upgraded and is comfortable but some of the fixtures are fixes and not newly replaced. Best place for fish tacos and ceviche. I drive all the way from Fullerton because the food is delicious and fresh every time. I'd recommend the Baja taco and the ceviche de camaron. Also, I was there today and as I was taking my food back to the table I spilled 4 tacos on the ground like an idiot. First the bad. First impression was of every table is dirty. Staff did not offer to wipe any down. The good...we had shrimp tacos and a shrimp burrito. Both were quite good and portions generous. Tonight I went to your new location, which is good for the consumer because you have more parking and more seating available, however, something has been lost in the preparation of the food. The rice and beans were basically tasteless, the beans were a little too salty and the fish tacos had too much garnish VS fish as well as too much Tapatio that overpowered the the entire experience. Don't even get me started on the fact that every single table in that establishment was filthy as well as the floor. We actually took the wet rag you so conveniently placed amongst your condiments and used it to wipe down our own table because no one else had done it in what looked like a while. This is our go-to Mexican food joint. We usually get a few different types of tacos, (asada, pollo, or carnitas). All of them are excellent and they give a ton of meat in each one. We also always get the Mojarra Frita which is also excellent and the fish is always on the larger side. We have tried a few times different types of ceviche. These are also good, but not as good as their tacos and Majorra Frita. Anyway, I have no complaints about this place and the food is excellent. They also give you a ton of salsa and peppers if you ask. Lots of places are super stingy with condiments, but not this place. I ordered a tostada mixta . It was delicious. My husband ordered shrimp tacos . They were ok; however they need to change their frying oil. You can taste the old oil and see the dark looking shrimp. I realize they get busy but they need to bus their tables. I saw customers cleaning their own tables. Things have changed here, there is no more "salsa bar" but you can ask the guy behind the counter for any of the salsas or the chilies, lemons, etc. Also they have done away with the cucumber water, which was my favorite! All of this, I'm sure, is because of Covid and it's restrictions. However, the food is still amazing! I love the Baja's Tacos so much! The way they fry their seafood is perfection. It is light and crispy. These particular tacos have 3-4 shrimp and 1-2 pieces of fish... ginormous! So delicious too. Over the last couple years the service is not as friendly as it once was, but it's kind of hit or miss really. That does not deter me from coming back, but because it is fairly consistent that does knock it down a notch and I removed a star from my rating.
