Well priced Mexican food. I was craving tacos and I can say I was completely satisfied with everything! We got the California burrito with Carne Asada which was a 10/10. We also got a mulitas with chicken, which was fantastic. The chicken tacos were also great. The staff was friendly and welcoming, definitely recommend this little spot. read more

I'm not gonna lie, I come here for nachos!!! Their carne asada nachos are delicious. Add some green and red salsa and squeeze some lime on top and they are some of the best nachos I've had. The food is delicious! Love the Tuesday Taco deal. The parking is very small and at times it's hard to find parking. The staff is friendly except for the guy Francisco behind the register. He has this rude, sarcastic, arrogant vibe/attitude. You can totally see he hates his job. Tried this spot for the first time and actually wanted to order some carne asada fries but the guy at the register or cook somehow confused the order for nachos!!!!!!! But you know what... I'm not mad at them.. And although I saw their mistake while making it I chose not to complain because it looked good.. And Luckily it also taste bomb!!! Hands down the best Tacos you'll find in Long Beach! The food is very tasty, salsa is perfect.

The food here is amazing. Everthing is always fresh and made in perfect time. The breakfast burritos are awesome, so are the steak quesadillas. Don't forget to ask for some extra green sauce because that's one of the best parts. read more

Pretty good chicken burrito. It's a little more expensive ($7.25) than some nearby spots, but it's also bigger. It was pretty good. The red and green salsa were both good, but not very spicy. On my only visit here, I walked in and the girl behind the counter didn't greet me...just stared at me. I assumed waiting to take my order but dang, kind of rude..? Anyways, what I ordered was sub-par. We got a few tacos and a burrito. Tortillas were hard and tasted kind of stale. Meat was over-cooked and hard like it'd been sitting out for several hours. I ordered 3 Tacos. All different flavors just to try it out. Carne Asada, Pork & Marinated Pork with a side of spanish rice. Also my Orchata drink. We open up our bag to eat and all the sauce from the Wet Burritos was every where. Ugh! I took a bite out of the Carne. It was ok. The 2 other Tacos were dried out pork. It was gross. My rice was under cooked. Myy Wife ordered a Wet Burrito. She said it was ok as well. I won't be back. Well continue to find a better Mexican Restaurant in Long Beach. Being from the 4th Street area, I'm quite devoted to Hole Mole and Taqueria La Mexicana #2. So when my neighbors called me asking to try a new taco place and I said yes, I felt like I just agreed to have an extramarital affair. But hey, we had a 10% off coupon. We went to Tacos Chapala on a slower Monday night and were greeted by the three people behind the counter. We must have looked like a six year old reading a Mensa-member written dissertation, because the man made us some "sample" (aka full sized) tacos. Based off the samples, we ordered. I got the Chicken Sopes and a carne asada taco. When we paid, the guy gave us back the coupon and said to bring it in each time we come in. Super nice! I love me some discount. HOMEY HOOKUP! The food was done fast and they were very accommodating to any requests we had. In fact, I think they may be a little psychic. They asked us if we wanted limes, radishes and sides of salsa before the words even came out of our mouths. My food was fantastic. The meat wasn't dry or chewy like I have experienced at other taco stands and the sopes were delicious. Way better than I've had anywhere else. I hate to say it, but they totally blow Hole Mole's chicken and carne asada tacos out of the water. Bombs away! I'm going there again. Plus... the young guy that works there is kind of pretty. Keep it Simple Stupid You all know it and so do the owners of this joint. You choose whether you want a Taco, a torta or a burrito. Then you choose the meat. Nuff said. Me being the taco fiend I am had to go with the asada's baby. I made the mistake of misunderstanding the cook/preparer - I guess he asked if i wanted salsa - I said no because I didn't know what the hell he was sayin' and yeah I was drinkin' so it could have been my fault. Nonetheless when I got to the crib and found that none of my tacos had any damn salsa on 'em it clicked that this must have been what he was inquiring about. The Mexican food here is great. Authentic and inexpensive. It may be overshadowed by its overpriced neighbors but the food here is quality you can't deny. I order the Carne Asada wet burrito with green sauce. No extra charges for avocado and sour cream which is a plus as a lot of restaurants like to charge more for those condiments. Only thing bad about this place is the parking, but the food is outstanding. read more

This is my go to taco spot in Long Beach! Everything is cooked perfectly and made to order. The carnitas nachos are so good! I am also picky when I order tacos - depending on the meat I want it extra crispy and I always get one tortilla instead of two; the staff is always very accommodating and gets the order right. Amazing authentic tacos! I lived in Mexico City for two years and since i moved to LA a couple of years ago, searching for authentic tacos has been really depressing! The tacos are cheap and tasty! and they give you "chiles torreados" on the side, which are pan fried hot chiles and are awesome sliced over tacos! I am a fan of hole mole but these are superior tacos! This place is really like a taco stand so i wouldnt go there for dinner or go on a date there! (Go to Compradres next door instead). read more

Because of graduation night, we were given a 45 min wait time at Compadres Mexican restaurant, so our Plan B was found 2 doors down at The Eatery...but it wasnt to be, they had closed at 8pm! Aaarrgghh! Our Plan C was found between our A & B in the form of Tacos Chapala! What a meal! Lengua tacos, al.pastor and a carnitas torta...washed down with a Mexican Coke! I come here at least once or twice a week to buy nachos for my lady. It runs under $8 and it comes pretty stacked. The staff is friendly which is a definite plus. Who wants to eat at a place that doesn't value their customers, right? Haven't tried the other stuff on the menu, but I will soon. Its a small establishment but I definitely don't mind. I prefer the smaller places to go in & out. They don't take long to whip up your order. There is a few tables ate to sit & munch. I prefer take out. The nachos tastes Delicious. Its one of our preferred places to visit. Around the corner from my son's head start school & across the street from food4less. So I'm always in the area. Evelyn is a very nice employee as well. This place is awesome! When I'm in the mood for home-style goodness I eat the mulitas. When I'm on a budget, I eat the tacos. When I feel like a wonderful food coma I go for the wet burrito with the salsa roja. I never even liked burritos till I came here. The carne asada is good but the carnitas make my heart melt just a little. Love this place....I drive from the other side of town to get the .GREEN wet burrito. It is the best! The green salsa is the mild one. The red one is very good but spicy! This is the kinda place where Mexican people eat Mexican food, so you know it's good. (my dad loves the burritos) The tacos are also good but better if you eat asap! (they can get hard). I was contemplating whether or not to travel for the holidays. Yeah i miss my family, BUT my mouth started to salivate when I remembered Tacos Chapala, the hole in the wall Mexican joint in anaheim and obispo. I was definitely having my withdrawals. So l made a decision to travel from the east coast to the LBC (my home) for the awesome al pastor nachos chapala or the carnitas tacos. I still cant believe that it is 1.25 for a taco. I have paid way for than that for tacos that had a quarter of a taste as these small yet explosive tacos. Yummy... I love the feel of this place. And this definitely beats fiesta taco, taqueria la Mexican , and hole mole in terms of flavor and authenticity. Ask for the red salsa (hot) and grilled onions and radishes. read more

Al pastor tacos here with extra grilled onions are bomb :D ! I know, I know, Its tiny, and parking sucks, slightly ghetto, but just grab your delisshh tacos & go !
