Last time I was in the area this location wasn't open so today I decided to stop by and try them out. Is there anyone in this world who can say no to a Quesabirria taco? Not me anyway. I was pleased to see it was pretty busy inside. While small, it has a good amount of seating and smells amazing inside. We took a moment to look over the menu and decided on four Quesabirria tacos and a cheese quesadilla. They have two sizes of Quesadilla so I ordered a medium. We were greeted right away and our order taken. We were given a number and told they'd bring it out to us when ready. Everything arrived so fast and looked amazing. They have salsa bar with multiple salsas, cucumbers, onions and cilantro and such. The green salsa was awesome! The consommé had great flavor and adding the cilantro and onion made it even better. Our tacos were full of meat and cheese amazing. Thank goodness I ordered the smaller quesadilla because the tacos were so filling. We really enjoyed everything and will definitely be back. Overall a very solid taco place! We had moderate expectations coming here and this place definitely met them. The al pastor taco party plate came with 6 tortillas and a side of beans/rice. Pretty good deal considering how much meat also came to fill up the tacos. Salsas were good and the agua fresca watermelon drink was very good! Was not blown away, which is why I am giving a 4 and not 5. But will be returning in the future when wanting good street tacos! read more

I really had high hopes for this place but man time after time it's been an expensive let down. I've tried everything on their menu. But this time I don't know what they were thinking of ruining a perfectly good torta. The meat is tough. Not asada more like thick steak. They put this horrendous sauce all over the sandwich. It was super Soggy. Dripping in a mayo sauce. I got the spins from taking two bites. SMH. The quesadilla is super oily. It shouldn't be this oily. SMH I gave them 2 stars because the restaurant is always well kept, and the associates are always super nice. But we won't be a returning customer. read more

These tacos are addicting and authentic! While you can eat inside or on their patio, we always take it to go since we're soo close. The shrimp queso taco and the chicharron queso taco are my favs. Hubby likes the birria queso taco too. We've tried a mix of their proteins in various items which were great as well (quesadilla, basic taco, torta) all are moist and tasty. Each of their salsas are delish and FULL of flavor too! The creamy, garlicy avocado is THE best and excellent on the shrimp. Love the salsa verde/tomatillo one as well and the red has its own great flavor too. Each have a little kick (depending on your palate). Cilantro and onions are a nice touch too! Staff is always friendly and welcoming. I have visited the Avondale location dozens of times. I hesitate to mention how awesome this place is to avoid the already busy new Litchfield location. They added a salsa station and margaritas, Mexican beers and jarritos and horchata. The food is delicious and authentic. I will keep coming back again and again. Welcome with your new location. Wow was the waiting for the opening of this restaurant worth it! Loved stopping by their other location in Avondale. Goodyear and Verrado community needed a Taco Shop like this. This is a very traditional Mexican Taqueria and if you have been to Mexico City this pretty much feels like you are back there! They have a variety of street tacos, quesadillas tortas and more. The tacos were delicious and tomatillo guac salsa was so good. The rice is also just like my mom would make it. Can't wait to try other menu items on my next visit especially their margaritas. One of my favorite spots to grab Mexican food from! My go to here is the shrimp quesadilla. I'm not even sure I've eaten anything else from there, . My family truly enjoys the food here as well, it is delicious. I love the avocado dipping sauce has a nice little kick but not too much. We have eaten at the restaurant once but usually take it to go since it's so close to our house. The persons taking the orders are very friendly and great at suggesting food items. I also love the flavored drinks here also. It has an outdoor and in door seating area and has a great vibe. I honestly think they need a bigger place, it's always jumping! This place was pretty good and the flavors were all there! My favorites were the tacos , they were fresh and so good. They give you a lot of meat and I loved that. The cashier was also friendly too! If you're looking for AUTHENTIC Mexican food, this is the place to go! The meat alone is incredible. I've tried the chicharron, carne asada, pollo asado, milanesa, and birria. All have been amazing! Everything from this restaurant tastes fresh. The meat is never dry and is so juicy and flavorful. I'm a big critic of Mexican-style street tacos but this place blows my mind and tastebuds. The tacos taste exactly how they should and there is no skimping on the flavor. This is the first place I've seen in AZ so far to offer milanesa (I'm from CA where this is pretty common). I also enjoy the salsa bar, where you can get whatever you'd like. The service has been great for the most part (there was one lady who was a bit short with me when ordering) and everyone is very friendly. The ambiance of the restaurant is good. The only negative I would say is it feels a bit crammed at the front where you order and where the salsa bar is located. I am definitely going to be returning to this place in the future. It's worth the drive and the food is worth the price (if you think this is expensive). Simple menu, but incredible food!!! read more

This counter service restaurant has some great chicharon (pork belly) queso tacos that are really SOOO good! There's other good stuff (burritos, machete tacos, salsas, etc) here, but that's my go to. The only negative I've had here is that the agua fresca is overly sweet, but it's still tasty and can be diluted with water. read more

I have been to Tacos Chilango a few times now, so I feel like I can write a review with some authority: THIS PLACE IS LEGIT. I have yet to have a bad meal here. Do yourself a favor and have the Machete. It's seriously a delicious take on the taco - share it with a friend. For $15, it's a great meal to share. I've also had their burritos and loved those as well. All meat is cooked perfectly and the staff have been helpful and pleasant. I do wish they had fountain drinks... that would be my only complaint, but it's not worth dropping a star for. This place is 5 stars. Go get your tacos! read more

We finally stopped in to try this new place and I am so glad we did. This is a great little place and it's super cute inside. The food was very fresh and delicious. They also have margaritas and beer. Other than not having table service it felt like being in a restaurant not fast food. Update 3/14/23 , came back to give this place another try !!! They messed up our order .... The music is so loud that the cashier ordered what she thought she heard . Then they brought the correct order , and they messed up again . Nobody knew what was going on . I never got my receipt , so I couldn't prove to them that the order was wrong . My son got that wrong drink. He wanted Jamica water . I got 2 cabeza (beef cheek ) tacos and two al pastor tacos . The cabeza was so oily , that it was hard to eat . Also had no flavor at all . I also had two am pastor tacos . The meat on top of the al pastor tacos was delicious , but as you worked your way down the tacos , the meat was dry . Everyone else had either al pastor or carne asada tacos . The group that are the carne asada tacos , stated that the carne asada had no flavor whatsoever. All and all , not worth ever coming back here again . My total bill for 5 people 12 tacos one small container of rice and one of beans $70 . Not worth it at all . I would look elsewhere for your taco fix !!! read more
