This place ranks a solid 4 stars in my book. The food is good, but I do think the pictures on the menu tend to hype up flavors that are slightly lacking. I tried four different tacos and a mini Mexican pizza. The filet mignon taco had great flavor, with extremely tender, soft meat. The taco de arrachera followed suit and didn't disappoint. Although these tacos were well seasoned, they still required toppings to elevate the flavor--chili, onions, cilantro, lime, etc. The pulpo taco was my favorite item I ordered. The octopus was super soft and chewy--exactly what you would expect texture-wise. Adding toppings like pickled onions and salsa made this taco especially enjoyable. When ordering the tripa taco, the cashier specifically asked if I wanted the meat crispy or non-crispy. I chose non-crispy. However, when I tried the taco, the meat was hard. Much of it was overcooked, and I felt like I was chewing on a piece of charcoal. I don't know if my order was prepared incorrectly or if this is what they consider non-crispy. If that's the case, I'd hate to taste the crispy version. I can't fathom the meat being any more burnt than it already was. Again, toppings were a must on this taco--they helped dilute the overwhelming charred flavor. Lastly, the Mexican pizza. I ordered mine with arrachera. The presentation looked amazing, but the flavor was simply good. It comes loaded with toppings--sour cream, guacamole, onions, cilantro, and more. Perhaps the abundance of toppings overwhelmed the palate. I'm not entirely sure. Would I come back? Definitely. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Do I think some menu items could use a little more pizzazz or a few slight refinements? Unequivocally. The cashier was friendly, knowledgeable, and able to recommend popular menu items. I first came by Primecut Taqueria because I had heard that it was similar to Tacos Los Cholos. There is apparently some drama involved between the two but that's really none of my business. After a few visits, I can say that I like Primecut about as much as I like Los Cholos. FOOD The quality is good. I've tried the Asada, arrachera, and shrimp. I've tried their taco, quesadilla, burrito, and potato. Everything was good SERVICE Over several visits, all of the different staff members were professional and nice. Just walking in to this place was a great experience, the line to order is divided by a half wall away from the tables. The art and interior design is trendy with still keeping the Mexican home feel, the menu and kitchen all looked clean along with the dining area. I got the quesadilla de al pastor and my friend got the Harrachera torta both were delicious in flavor and packed with meat! The salsa bar was super clean and well labeled and organized. I went for lunch on my first visit, enjoyed what I ordered, and can't wait to go back to try more of the menu. Last three times they forgot half my order and didn't make the burritos right. With the burritos they are very inconsistent. There is a medium heat green Serrano salsa and a spicy orange habanero salsa! I loaded up on those and also got some spicy pickled onions, cucumber, radish, cilantro, and raw onion. Their chicken is always so delicious as they are in larger chunks, and their asada (beef) is amazing in tacos and their burritos!! I'd been meaning to check out this place weeks ago after being recommended it by someone who had family working here. And it's pretty good. The adobada burrito had the hallmark of using super fresh meat butchered in-house I believe and being super tender. The rest of the burrito was very tasty as well. It only needed a little coaxing with some onions, cilantro, and green salsa as it was a bit bland at the outset. I definitely would have this burrito again in the same manner. I'm also insanely curious about the loaded papas entree as I only recently introduced to this a few months ago at another food joint. Over there they called it papa loka, but I suspect the upgrade in meat here would make it more adventurous. And, of course, I would want to try the nachos because who doesn't like nachos? The staff was friendly if a bit curt. That's what happens when you have a bit of a line. And while I hate feeling rushed during the ordering process, I understood. The space is a bit small and I'm not sure would be conducive to a good chill spot with friends and family, or a good place to read a few chapters of a book after dinner. It felt more pressured, like they would want you to vacate after taking your last bite, but that may have been more the tight confines and not wanting to take up real estate with other patrons waiting.
