It had been awhile since we stopped by but there steak tacos with flour tortillas are bomb!!! The key to their food is that they make everything fresh to order so it's not a bunch of meat just sitting there waiting to be served. Instead each taco has their own steak done upon ordering and filled with fresh ingredients. We also tried the carne asada tacos and again the chips were made fresh and meat also made upon ordering. The price of $19 seemed steep but once we got the nachos they were more than enough for two people and every component had flavor! The young lady who made the nachos made a mistake with the meat on the nachos but quickly took them back and made another fresh batch and was most apologetic to the point where she even gave us fresh churros! Another place with decent reviews near Petco and had to stop by and try them out. Great customer service right off the bat, the cashier was able to answer all of my questions. Ordered a few tacos pork, beef and chicken. Not sure how I feel about beans on top of my tacos. The various proteins were cooked well but had something spicy in each so I had to remove the toppings. There are the cheapest tacos I have seen and are perfectly sized. Tried the Jawa Horchata drink and didn't agree with my palate and checking the ingredients on the back and it was full of chemicals. I had to try these new $1 tacos so I ordered 1 carne and 1 adobada taco. The chile relleno taco is something everyone should offer! Cheesy, spicy and deliciousness on a corn tortilla. I love adding their green salsa onto this. It really makes for a flavor packed taco. I had low expectations for these $1 tacos honestly, but I was impressed. They're serving the same quality ingredients for a wallet friendly price. Pair any taco with their fresh, homemade salsas, you're in for a treat. The service is always exceptional. I think they change them up as it's written on a white board, but today they had the pollo, asada and adobada on special. I was with a few other people so we had a few items off the menu. My Cabeza Taco was tender and topped perfectly. The Quesabirria was also tender. The cheese had a delicious flavor to add the the Birria and I enjoyed it with the consume. Good sized street tacos. The chips were extra crispy and fresh tasting. The salsa was the perfect balance of spice and fresh flavor. The guacamole was almost "creamy" in texture and fresh as well! It wasn't quite as flavorful but was complementary in flavor to the other combinations of flavors. Tacos El Gallo specializes in Tijuana style tacos so I wanted to see how they tasted compared to what I have tried south of the border. The place took over the building which used to house El Charrito. They have a private lot with plenty of spots which is always a nice bonus. The menu only had 15 items, of which seven were tacos. I chose the New York Steak (i.e. their version of carne asada), Birria, Al Pastor, and Pollo for my order. What really stood out was the addition of pot (pinto) beans in each taco. I felt the ingredient created an imbalance though. The beans overwhelmed the other toppings of cilantro, onion, guacamole, and salsa. The steak was cut into thicker slices before grilling as opposed to diced cubes. I actually prefer the latter way which seems to be more common here in SoCal. The birria was made up of beef stew instead of goat. The flavors from the blended peppers and spices made this taco the best of the bunch. The prices were really competitive so overall, I rated this taco joint with 3.5 stars. read more

New Taco Shop finding its recipes for their menu items south of the border. They don't offer typical breakfast items for a taco shop i.e., breakfast burritos, chorizo, and chilaquiles, but they do offer birria tacos sometimes eaten for breakfast in Mexico. I had a pair of Chille Relleno tacos with the pinto beans that come on the tacos, on the side for $4 a pieces. These are regular size taco and not the mini street tacos. The tacos were good. I appreciated several things about these tacos. For example, they use the quality pepper, they used white cheese, instead of cheddar like some of those tacos shops, and they battered them in a egg mixture. As a result, the chile rellenos tasted good and had the right texture, and I loved the way the cheese came oozing out. However, the guacamole that come with the tacos was good but needed seasoning, and chile rellenos usually come in a mild yet flavorful red sauce, so a little bit of that sauce, drizzled over the tacos would of helped bring them together nicely. Come to think of it, it needed a sauce. The whole pinto beans on the side were very good. They cooked tender to the touch and were perfectly seasoned. These come on the tacos, so if you like them on the side like me, let them know. The eatery has good parking and decent amount of seating inside. Good service. read more

My girlfriend and I have been going here infrequently for a couple of years as we live not too far away. From the first time we had gone the food and service has always been amazing! We have tried almost all of the different tacos they offer and they have all been a hit! the nopale taco is definitely one of our favorites and something that isn't found at a lot of other taco shops. Our most recent visit (about two weeks ago) was after a long period of having not been there. Upon our return we were happy to find that nothing had changed and the food and friendly service were still in place. My girlfriend had noticed that they did have a different brand of horchata than before and asked about it. They told us that they lost supply from their old vendor and they started making it in house. We made our order (minus the horchata) and they gave us a free horchata just to be able to try!
