    Horrible Asada tacos
    Shon S.

There is bad Mexican food and dog food. This place is the later. Overpriced asada taco with rubber like dried meat on store bought Mission Yellow corn tortilla with prolly Costco bottle salsa, is what you get here. Same junk quality food I got before and after Covid. Look for a food truck nearby for fresh food.

One of my best taco truck experience ever! I was getting my car serviced a block away and saw a small line forming around 11:30am. Tacos was $1.75 each (as of Oct 2019) and I decided to try the Al Pastor. Food came out quickly and was piping hot. The corn tortillas were one of my the best I ever had. Not too oily and had the perfect amount of texture. The Al Pastor meat was equally as enjoyable. A bit out of the way unless you work around the auto shops and wasn't sure when the hours were, but will try again!

****Note: This review is specific to the Taco Truck that likes to park anywhere on Middlefield, most notably between Douglas and Dumbarton**** RWC Taco Quest Stop #3 4.5 Tacos: $1.00 each Seating: NO Cash Only Size: Small 2 tortillas Good for Groups: No, but if you like standing and eating... Parking: No. Find a side street and walk. Order at the window. The tortilla was dipped in oil and plenty of meat on top. Carne Asada was tasty and moist. Cheapest. tacos. So Far. Great deal, great flavor, just don't expect to sit. Ambiance: Next to a car garage. Parked. Ambiance? Not so much. This truck moves, and you just have to keep your peepers open for it. Service was friendly, but ask for extra napkins. They don't skim on the toppings and this is a must on your taco journey!

Out of the many great taco trucks and taquerias found in Redwood City, CA; El Grullo is definitely my favorite. Their spicy red sauce is to die for (or at least worth stopping by on your lunch break.) The red sauce has a kick, but the burn is more of a savory aroma of spices that lingers in your mouth long after you're done eating. I usually get the chicken or carne asada tacos. With the asking price at a dollar flat, taco truck dining doesn't get much better than at Tacos El Grullo.

A little toooo greasy for my taste

It's like a food truck slash restaurant. The food is authentic and great. I think even my Mexican ex would agree.

Pretty solid as far as taco trucks go, but what sets El Grullo apart is the price. Their tacos are *cheap*!!!

I have experienced many a taco spot... and nothing compares to the utter freshness, flavor and bang-for-your-buck type of value that is offered here. Due to the Lenten season, my hubs and I were looking for a place that offered seafood tacos and this place was rumored to be the best. After stopping by on our way out of town recently, we knew instantly this was true. The aguas frescas are served iced cold and 100% fresh. My agua de guayaba and my hubs' agua de tamarindo were absolutely to die for. You could absolutely taste the fresh fruit for each. Now for the best part. On Friday's they have a special: $5 fish tacos with tortillas made fresh and by hand... complete with all the fixings. The fish is hand battered, made to order and served piping hot, dressed with cabbage, pico de gallo, and a combination of mayo and chipotle aioli. The picture simply doesn't do it justice, folks. Hands down, the best fish tacos in the area. 100/10. The team aboard this truck are friendly, quick and serve every dish up with a smile. Truly elevating the unique experience. While I was only lucky enough to stop for fish tacos, I look forward to future trips to Los Carnalitos for a sampling of their many menu options, especially the fried banana for dessert!! Note: this truck accepts both cash AND card... and they do honor door dash orders!

Tried BBQ from their food truck at the Fort Mason night market! Got the meat plate with brisket,…read morepork ribs, and the baked beans and potato salad as the sides. Everything was delicious! The brisket was very tender, and so were the ribs! They had 4 different types of BBQ sauce available. My favorites were the original one and the mustard based one. They went very well with the meats. Also really enjoyed the baked beans and potato salads.

With the exception of the big painted Texas flag on the wall and the cartoonish sponge cowboy hat,…read morethe place has nothing to do with Texas, especially the BBQ. The good news: The free sliced pickles and pickled onions, mild bbq sauce and the spicy runny bbq sauces are great! The OK news: The creamy cal slaw is fresh and crunchy (not creamy) and the Brussels sprout is crispy and nice (not very Texan as the name gives it away). The "smoked beans" are more like the English Heinz beans, a la beans on toast, in a thick sauce with an extremely faint smoke taste (you have to close your eye and let your imagination wonder). The not so good news: 1.5lb of brisket has no smoky bbq taste, zero smoke rings. It was not tender and was cooked in a hurry. Half a rack of ribs, zero bbq taste. Half a chicken, zero bbq taste, just cooked with uneven brushes of light smudges of bbq sauce slapped on it for color. The half chicken was missing the thigh (my favorite meat) , the gentleman said that they ran out of them so he put yet another large quarter clonk of breast meat. Managed to finish a wing and a bit of a quarter. Having been going to Austin every year for the last 13 years for the F1 race in October and having had true Texan bbq at the Salt Lick in Driftwood and Terry Black and Franklin, I can honestly say the we were quite disappointed, regardless of the fact the the meal cost $160. A.I. hallucinated again when I asked about the best smoked BBQ in the Bay Area. For the people who know, don't bother. P.s. the tall metal stools and chairs are designed for people with an ass the size of a nickel. Most uncomfortable. P.p.s. Not enough parking spots and parking sucks down to 2 blocks away

Why 3 stars? Because I was just so sad about my flavorless chicken…read more --- --- --- I was staying at the Courtyard Marriott and was so excited to see a food truck with 4.8 stars less than a mile away. I had just flown in that day from Houston and I wanted dinner, but I was on central time and ready to go to bed early, so I didn't want to sit down in an actual restaurant. A food truck, not to mention a highly rated food truck was the perfect solution for what I needed. I couldn't resist the NYC Chicken Tikka Masala, because I enjoy all four words of that dish, so what could go wrong? The guy made it for me and handed me this thick boy to-go box, which I promptly walked to my rental car and opened up to see a 10/10 visually appealing heaping meal. And then I took a bite and.... where was the flavor? I took another bite. Same thing. And another. And another. Bland tikka masala?? How does this happen? After I had several bites, I came to the conclusion that it tasted like chicken dipped into water. There was literally no taste to the sauce. Was an ingredient forgotten? Did I come to close to closing time (30 minutes)? I really don't know. I enjoyed the pita bread and the salad concoction, but I will forever be bummed thinking about the alternative places I almost visited before choosing to grab dinner here.
