Sad to say new owners, the chilaquiles and taco with a soda came out to $18. Ridiculous pricing food was extremely salty and lacked good flavors. The beans were very like full of lard like a paste. I dined in and expected at least plates and the salsas being brought out in large squeeze bottles. Inside I got my food in a to go box ... Food was like eating from a food truck. Used to love this place. Best chorizo breakfast burrito around. Heard they changed owners, so I avoided it for a while. Finally decided to get a chorizo burrito this morning. I will not be back. Prices are up. Quality is WAY down. If you want a bland bean and cheese burrito with a little bit of chorizo, eggs, and undercooked potatoes, go for it. Awful. New owners, if you read this, know that you messed up. You're averaging 2 stars since you took over. You're losing customers. I used to recommend Paisa to everyone, but I will not recommend your establishment. I will actively tell people to avoid the establishment. I hope you make the necessary changes. Learn from the mistakes. The old owners had a winning ticket. If you're going to change everything, change the name so people know not to go. read more

This is going to be one of my hidden gems that I've discovered in a long time. I ordered the carne asada burrito with light beans, guacamole and sour cream. It was truly the best burrito I've had in a while. Everything was portioned out good. I was so scared to try it but I had to give it a go. It was definitely filling so that's always a plus. The green salsa is tasty and goes well with the burrito. I'm so glad I came here. The whole menu looked so inviting so I'll be ordering different things. A good place close to work. Thank you guys so much!!! The service was excellent and my food came out fast. I don't usually write reviews right away but this I couldn't wait. I hope everyone tries the burrito with guacamole and sour cream. It's extra but with the 1.50$ yum yum yum!!!! They also have some desserts so if you want something sweet they got chu. So sad...I've been going here for years, years and used to love this place. They had the best carne asada tacos, with yummy home made tortillas and bomb red sauce. Went today only to be disappointed. Carne asada had no taste. No more home made tortillas. Red sauce had no kick. And now they charge to use a card. FYI, you are not allowed to charge customers to use a card, read your merchant contract / terms of use. My horchata wasn't good either. Can someone post where the cook went to? This morning I dropped off my suburban for a brake job at cobra automotive and walked down to try this restaurant that had 4 1/2 stars for a Mexican breakfast. I ordered machaca con huevo with handmade corn tortillas and tried both of their mild green and hot red hot sauces. The meal was excellent. Beans were tremendous, the Machaca was free of fat with finally diced bell peppers and onions. The rice was the only marginal item on the plate. Both sauces I thought were excellent and I would recommend this place for at least what I ordered. It is very small and I have no idea how busy they get. Service was quick and friendly. read more

Salsas completely lost flavor and kick. I used to get a bean and cheese burrito about twice a week and now its sad to say that I will not be returning after I tried this new one. Also, prices went way up, even for using your credit card. Overall, the food and salsas lost flavor and prices got more expensive. Not a good combo. read more

What happened to this place? It is not what it used to be. They should change the name too since they changed their recipes. No more home made tortillas, the sauce is different, their meat is less quality, I just bought a menudo and they barely serve you anything, probably half of what they used to, you probably have to order two to get what's expected. I was looking for my next "best kept secret" spot so I decided to give this place a try. After what seemed like a quarter hour when there was one person in front of me. I finally got their attention so that I can place my order. It was one carne asada burrito to-go. Pretty simple unless your car broke down in front of a Mexican restaurant in Cadillac, Michigan. Several minutes plus another quarter hour later, my order is ready. 35 min for a burrito to go. Excited to bite into this burrito with a potential to be my next find, I'll go with "crafted food takes time" and went with the flow. As I looked in the bag, there it was. The mini me of burritos. The burritos here are like your teenagers. Teens are 16 going on 22, the burritos are tiny and the prices are like a big burrito. I'll post a pic of a dollar bill overshadowing the micro-burrito. Now I'm a little upset. 40 minutes into my lunch and I need to get back to the grind. When I got back to the office to violate this elf burrito, my first bite happened. After all this work to discover a place, turned out to taste like any other place. Every place can start with 2.5 stars of they just do the basics. My boyfriend wanted tacos for lunch so we found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. First of all, the place is slightly hard to find since it's in more of a residential part of the street, but it's just slightly passed Benson. Parking was easy enough, but if it was crowded, it might be a problem. The inside is kind of small. There was only 4 tables and at one of the tables was a younger girl playing with her toys (I assumed she was the daughter of someone?). My boyfriend ordered the carnitas plate ($10.99) and I ordered 3 carne asada tacos ($1.95/taco). We chose just to get cups of water as a drink. We chose a table and the employee brought us a bowl of chips and hot salsa. I'm not a fan of salsa, but my boyfriend said it was good. The chips weren't fresh or anything, but they were a good crunch when I needed it. Our food came out about 10 minutes later. My boyfriend's carnitas were so tender and juicy. The beans were normal, and the rice was good, but not spectacular. It came with a side of about 3 tortillas. My tacos were good, but not great. I loved the marinade on the tacos, but I felt like the onions/cilantro ratio was a bit off. It could have been because I love a ton of them on my tacos, but I definitely had a good amount of carne asada on my tacos. We left full and happy. Service could have been a little better (we stood in front of the cash register waiting for a few moments), but when she was on it, the employee was very attentive! I've been to countless taco places, and this was definitely one of the best I've been to in the Inland Empire! Luckily my friend and I arrived before the lunch rush. I was so excited to come here from what my brother in-laws raved, but was so deeply disapointed. $3.75 for a bean burrito which was tasty but was so tiny think bean and cheese at taco bell usually bean and cheese burritos are a good fat size at a mexican restaurant and here you defiantly won't get that.. All the burritos are tiny. Asada is blah!! Rice is tasteless! It gets busy but i think it's because there isn't any where else to get your Mexican fix out here. If you head a few minutes twords Pomona you'll get the real deal size and taste here are a few apots Los Jarritos, Melenderos, Tacos Jalisco Omanas, Mexico Lindo and many more. The food is awesome but the service is ridiculous. I don't know how you stay in business. My boyfriend and I live across the street so obviously we frequent this place a lot. First off if you're going to have signs that say you close at 6, then don't turn away business at 545. I attempted to call at 530 on my way home from work so I could place a pick up order. No answer. I called several times with no answer. My boyfriend walked over at 545 and the girl working turned him away and said they were closed. I'm sorry but are you confused on what time dinner is ? I shouldn't have to try this hard to pick up food. If you say you close at 6, try not closing the doors before then. Thanks. Obviously we'll be finding a new Mexican place to eat. read more

Finally found a great Hole-In-The-Wall Mexican Food joint in Upland. I can't tell you how crazy it is that I've lived here for 10 years and not found this place until now. I've been 3 or 4 times and had a good sampling of what they can do and I have been very pleased with everything I've eaten. The Al Pastor taco was the best I've ever had. It does suck that they only take cash or charge you extra to use Visa or MC, but being they are a very small place in an out of the way spot I can't believe they are making money hand over fist; I'll give them credit where credit is due and stop by the ATM before I go. read more

I'm hesitant to write this review because I like to keep the best spots I know secret. But I've just had one of the best damn chicken salads ever and I gotta let people know! It was crunchy fresh lettuce specially seasoned chicken avocado and bell peppers, but dayum it hit the spot! We frequently get lunch from here because the food is fresh flavorful and priced right. My second favorite (now after the chicken salad) is there chicken quesadillas, second to none! Their Carne Asada is delicious anyway you order it. Most combos come with rice and beans. Oh and the aqua frescas are made daily I heard and I believe it because it is good too! Have yet to eat something I didn't like. I've been coming here for about 5+ yrs and they never fail when we want asada. Not until recently did I notice they raised their prices and they've been adding an extra fee to the order. Just ordered 3 tacos, rice and beans for $13?? I'm not one to shy away from bomb food, especially since you want to support ur local restaurants but you close early, charge extra and you rarely answer the phone?? I'm trying hard not read between the lines but capitalizing on the pandemic seems to be working in their favor. So sitting in my class i couldnt make up my mind on what to eat for lunch so i went on this crazy site and just began looking up anything and everything till i saw tacos ,I mean who doesnt like tacos. Drove up to this small little gem hole in the wall spot and was hit with the strong smell of great mexican food as soon as i got out of my car. I walked in and saw a plate being carried out to to a guy sitting in the corner. I looked up to the menu and began to order my traditional mexican grub musts 1. Pastor torta 1. Pastor burrito and 2 carnitas tacos. I waited about 8minutes and was given a huge bag of goodness. I drove back to my class and pulled all my stuff out of the bag like emilio estevez in the breakfast club and began to dig in. I opened up the tacos and was happy to see home made corn tortilla's with juicy carnitas calling my name. Before i knew it i ate everything in the blink of an eye and i was left with a full belly and a temptation to go back and get a whole other order of everything. I tried saving my burrito but couldnt it was just so damn good i kept eating. Every bite was filled with every flavor a mexican dish should have. Ive had enough of taco spots not marinating their meat and just throwing dry meat into a tortilla and calling it a taco or torta or burrito or any other dish. I live in rosemead and have no reason to go to upland but now i do. This place gets my " i didnt wanna finish it" rating and will be having this again for lunch tomorrow. read more

Tacos of tripas..my tripas were burned & felt like they scraped the old tripas off the girl & mixed it with a little bit of the good tripas just to mix it in causing me to leave 3 tacos uneatend out of 4 total that cost me over $2 with change!! Then we got 2 tortas of carnde asada..the asada was dried, hard & old. Didn't finish half the torta!! Spicy broth, small chunks of tender, juicy carnitas, crunchy but soft hominy topped with cabbage and radishes. Just the best. Next, the carnitas. Succulent, juicy, tender spiced pork slow roasted to perfection. Crunchy seared crust that not only brings the flavor but the beauty of the pork. This is how you make carnitas!!! Main course was the Carnitas Wet Burrito. Their succulent, spiced, tender slow roasted pork stuffed in a homemade flour tortilla around a bed of Mexican rice. Rolled perfectly and topped with the best Enchilada sause I've ever had with added cheese that was melted to bubbly perfection. Just the best! Without a doubt, you NEED to give this place a try! Look at my posted pics, and I'm sure that will make you want to visit! I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes. I'm more than sure they are just as epic. Fantastic place for the best Mexican food in Upland. UPDATE: After eating the leftovers, the Pozole had a lot of bones in it! This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine.
