If I could give zero stars I would. This place is not how it use to be. No customer service, they have policies they say that are not posted. The workers are rude and can care less in making their customers happy. They were literally giving me a hard time because I asked for 1 extra salsa for my 8 tacos. They gave me 3. I really like La Bufadora! I've been coming here for about 2 years now! The owner is super cool and they have good specials each day of the week! What I like most is that the food is Great! I visited Tacos La Bufadora today July 1 2021 at 12:38pm and ordered 1 burrito with cheese $7.99, 1 tostada ceviche de Cameron $5.99 and 1 large fountain drink $3.50 totaling $19.64 plus a second tab totaling $11.31 leaving a small tip on each transaction. The food is pretty good, but no sooner do I step out the door I dropped my soda as I was getting into my parked car that was directly in front of the restaurant and parked next to the owner for that matter, I know this because I eat here at least 3 times a month. I immediately walked back in with the broken cup that was empty asking for another, because I dropped, DO YOU KNOW THE OWNER REFUSED to replace. I asked him, are you sure? He said "the minute I step 2 feet out the door it was my problem, I can buy another"! Well that's not gonna happen and he has lost a customer who writes reviews! On 4th of July i ordered a couple of items for my family to eat including 2 campechana tostadas. This was an order over 45 dlls. The tostadas were rancid. So i asked the cashier if she could replace the 2 tostadas( not the meal just the tostadas) for chips since they were no good. And she said she could not replace them because they had already given me the 2 tostadas so they couldn't do anything to replace it even if they are bad. I asked to speak with the person inchsrge and she went to the back and said he said the same thing. I asked her for a ate to take my food and she came out wit a 4 inch olate and aluminum foil. I asked how she thought i wss going to be hable to take my food in that plate to which she said " i can't do anything else for you. if you wantchips you need to buy them ". At thos point i was really upset and demanded that the person incharge come and talk to me. He finally came out and said he couldn't do anything for me. I asked if he was serious and he said all he could do is talk to his delivery company for bringing bad tostadas. After taking to him for a bit he finally said " we don't normally give plates, but i will go ahead and give you one". I placed my food in the to go plate. I was was mad and ready to leave. My wife went to try to by a order of chips and she tpld them that that is no way to do customer service. (We both have experience with customer service positions) i came back ond told them it was ok i t is not the first time I come here but it is the first time i het treated lime this and that this will make my decision easier nest time I consider eating here gain. I lso would be speaking with the owner ( since my friend knows him).The guy in charge said he would give us the chips without paying even thought it was not there fault . I'm not sure why the bad reviews I'll have to go through them after I write mine. Well here it goes I was craving a shrimp cocktail and after driving around my husband finally convinced me to give this place a try. I ordered the large shrimp cocktail and i will have to say it does come in a small cup I did question if maybe they may have given me the small by mistake but no it was the 16oz size. But with that said it's so good. The broth was very good and the shrimp and avocado were fresh and it really was packed with shrimp. If I could give a suggestion to them it would be to go ahead and add in diced tomato, cilantro, cucumber and onion so maybe they could put it in a bigger cup so the customer feels it looks like a large size and it is in fact a large. It was filling and so good. I also got a fish taco they are $2.50 on Sat also really good. My husband l also liked his carne asada burrito. I kind of thought it was weird they did not have any prices on the menu. Maybe they are in the middle of doing that. Overall the food was delicious and we will be back. Man this place, is the only place that I sit down and I be like " why did I come and eat here" it's always a bummer. I always come for Fish tacos and Tacos de papa. They are good. Their prices are constantly going up. They are RUDE when people ask for more Salsa or limes. There was an occasion a lady complained about her Jamaica drink and they refuse to change or refund her drink because for them the Jamaica was good to them. My husband had got one too and when he heard of the Jamaica he tried it and agreed with lady. But nope refuse to change the drink. First thought when I came here was "La Bufadora? What does that even mean????" Although I still have no idea what it means (seriously what does it mean??) I do know one thing... this place is DELICIOUS! Please don't not come here just because it only has 3 stars. Give this place a chance and I guarantee you will not be disappointed! They have a lot of Mexican dishes to offer from burritos, tacos, tortas, taquitos to Mexican drinks like Horchata (which btw theirs is SO good!!) I'm not Mexican but I have been to Rosarito and Ensenada a handful of times and this place is as authentic as it gets. Best thing about this place? Not only is it delicious but affordable! They have 99 cent fish taco Wednesday's and $2.99 taquitos (3) on Thursdays. Last thing you should know is that usually only 1 person (the person at the register) speaks English and the rest of the employees only speak Spanish. Dumb ass, we can careless about a couple of pennies. It's just a point. Anyways the tacos. 3 tacos, Asada, Chicken, Al Pastor. All with onions and cilantro. That's it. I mixed the green sauce and red together, for some reason it makes for a much better salsa on the tacos, it could just be the white boy taco mix. The tacos, nothing special out of any of them, the meat was cooked good on all of them, but no distinctive taste to either of them. They all tasted the same. Just plain old tacos. 3 tacos, can soda $6.26 tip $1.00. The place was nice inside, the tacos had nothing to offer, don't even go into the bathroom before or after you eat, it may come right back up.
