Came here after seeing that they had grits and cat fish and oh boy did I make the right choice. Catfish seasoned and fried to perfection. Pancakes had that buttery crispy edge like mom would make. Wife got the Alfredo grits and let me tell you, these have been the best grits I have had! Everything complemented itself, creamy grits with tasty sausage slices along side huge shrimps and chicken. Portion size was huge but the flavor kept us eating. Clean plate club indeed. Only downside is how hot it is in there, poor portable ac was chugging. Great staff and even greater food. Okay, as I mentioned in my previous review, I intended to try more items from this place. So, today, I spent approximately $60, including the delivery fee. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. I checked the box for extra crispy chicken, but it wasn't crispy at all. I also checked the box for condiments, but I didn't receive any butter, forks, or napkins. Fortunately, I had already bought some butter. I wasn't happy with the chicken or the waffles. The waffles had a spongy consistency that I couldn't quite put my finger on. The chicken was a mix of light crunch and somewhat soggy. Overall, I was quite unhappy with my meal. The grits and eggs were good, though. I think it's important to ensure that customers have everything they need to enjoy their meal, including utensils and condiments. Just to update my last review: I went back to try the eggs and grits (delicious) and they included an extra item for my previous mishap . The real reason I m updating is, again, it was a hot day and a person who looked a little down on his luck came and asked, very politely, for water. The young man who was the server/host said "I got you man" and filled up a large cup of water with ice. Kindness is in very short supply in this world and I would like to thank that young man for just being a good person. I drove to R&R from Los Angeles. Friday traffic wasn't too bad, and I met a relative to dine in at 1pm. There wasn't a wait so we got seated quickly. Love the atmosphere and "Black Love" photos. Got the waffle and 3 wings. 2 of my wings were not very seasoned but the 3rd one was a bit more flavorful, not sure if they used a different batch of batter or seasoning dor the last one. The waffle tasted more healthy like a multigrain or wheat waffle, not like the crunchy/fluffy waffle I was craving. Also the meal was just one waffle cut into four pieces and dusted with powdered sugar. This meal was very expensive compared to the amount of food you would get in other chicken and waffle type restaurants in the area. I had breakfast at R&R a couple weeks ago and wanted to give them the props that they deserve. +1 and I arrived a little bit before 11AM on a Sunday and we were immediately seated. Also, kind of funny, but R&R was so full to the point where I overheard a server tell a table that they ran out of cups and needed to use an alternative if they chose to order drinks. Staff was extremely hospitable as they frequently check on our table. Our server was Afrika, but we had other R&R staff checkin to see how we were doing. Now the food. The food was fantastic. I'm still thinking about the shrimp grits that I ordered. It was packed with flavorful spices and had so much shrimp and sausage. This location opened about 1 month ago, October 2025. Their previous location apparently was in Chino, closer to me, but I had been unaware of its existance until now. So, we drove here all the way from Corona, just to experience what everyone has been salivating over. And now I understand why. For a relatively tiny cafe deeply embedded in the Inland Empire, they were doing a pretty brisk business for an otherwise unremarkable Monday morning. What a treat! Grits, waffles, biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, pork chops, po boys, catfish, mac n cheese...it kept getting better the more I read the menu. I was stumped as to what I should try for my first time around. But at last, I was able to commit. It had to be Wings. For my sides I "needed" the waffles, grits, and mac n cheese. And while seemingly priced high (over $20), it quickly became obvious why. Three full wings, plump, moist, and crispy (not just wing pieces), a full-sized waffle, a generous soup cup's worth of stellar white grits, and another soup cup of amazing mac n cheese. What an amazing meal it was! The waffle, a $3 upgrade instead of toast or biscuit, was a big surprise, tender, with a whisper of vanilla and cinnamon. So perfect, it really didn't need syrup. However, the tempting syrup came to our table in a tall bottle with pouring spout, nicely hot. Fried pork chop, 2 eggs, grits, waffles. The pork chops were center cut (they look like a bone-in ribeye), thick and superbly moist. The easy-over eggs were wonderfully runny. Mr B thanked me continuously for the entire drive home, for finding this little haven of real soul food, especially the pork chops. He is so hard to impress, just so you know. Coffee, very good, with frequent refills. While we didnt try any, they had a very interesting list of flavored lemonades, and better yet, an option for a flight to try them all. This is a modest, clean, happy spot. The staff are the friendliest people on the planet. Made us feel so welcome. Apparently they love military men, because Mr B was wearing his Navy hat and jacket and was getting hand shakes and thank you's by the workers. But after all, Moreno Valley is/was a military town. The interior was filled with inspiring signs, and family pictures, and family love was posted on the walls. Made for such a joyful, uplifting experience. Each table had been given its own name, aptly named after Ronda and Rodney's (the owners) grandchildren. The two of us sat at Davante's table. Need I say more? The menu is a tribute to real hometown southern cooking. I would not hesitate to try anything they offered. Better yet, there are 5 extra special dishes they offer for Sunday Brunch: Banana Foster pancakes, lobster/shrimp and grits, to name two. Glad we came. I came on a Sunday to a full parking lot (they have plenty of parking spaces) and they had an hour wait. Then Monday lunch time has a wait too! Love this for this family business! They seem to know lots of people's names! I heard lots of "see you later Mr so and so" The music is great. Loved the green onions on it too! Con's - hours are limited. I get it - it's a soul food breakfast but they could make lunch and maybe even dinner and we wouldn't be mad at it. It's a bit expensive. A side of pork chop is the same as a side of breakfast potatoes - Ug and the potatoes side is small for $6.44. Breakfast should come with 3 sides not 2 - toast and eggs and potatoes should come on a steak breakfast plate. It quickly becomes $30 -$40 for breakfast. I bet every plate orders a side because of normal breakfast plate expectations. I wish they offer some value priced of specials. I would eat here more often if cost wasn't such an issue. This a an old building without insulation so it is a bit loud. They have hard seats. Sometimes food comes out before you get silverware. They should bring when you order your drinks. I ordered coffee and creamer and then had no spoon. I heard others asking for silverware. Hack's - get extra butter for anything that you order - I would add it to coffee if I could- lol! This is our third time here, Food has always been good but service could improve, they take a very long time. My second mimosa never got to the table and when the server asked me about it I told her just to cancel it at that point and all she said was "okay" There was no effort to make things right knowing they bypassed our order. Decided to try this spot for an early morning breakfast. I walked in just after 8:00 am and was greeted immediately by two of the staff. I decided to try the chicken & waffle sliders. Solid, SOLID choice. The chicken was hot and juicy. The waffle was slightly crisp and sweet to the taste. Sam was an amazing server. He kept my coffee and water full throughout my visit. All of their staff is peppy and support one another when they work. I was in the restaurant industry for many years and it takes great leadership to help keep up the morale and environment of teamwork. The food here was sooo good. I couldn't get enough of those breakfast potatoes. I got a sausage with peppers omelette that was really good. My friend got some French toast with chicken wings. Those chicken wings are amazing! The French toast was also super good. The staff are all super friendly. I also noticed how accommodating they were to an older woman in a wheelchair. My wife had told me about R & R when she found it was at the old location of Chicago Pizza House. We had been there many years ago. We decided to go on Valentine's Day for a late brunch. We were rushing because we knew they closed at 3 pm, and it was already after 2 when we arrived. The parking lot was full, and we thought the 3 of us would have to order takeout because there would be no seating for us. But when we walked in, they had everything arranged so that there was plenty of seating. The place was almost full, but they were still able to seat us quickly. They had some nice music in the background and the TV next to us was showing some football game. There was a bar, and we were told that today was the first day they were serving alcohol. All the employees seemed to be very friendly. The menu had many breakfast and lunch options, with catfish, shrimp, and grits in many of the dishes. Our server was Sam and helped us choose from the menu. We ordered Spicy Shrimp and Grits, Cajun Alfredo and Grits, and a shrimp po'boy. We were offered mimosas, but my wife and son ordered house lemonades. I had the po'boy and it was good & flavorful; the shrimp inside was lightly breaded & tender and the remoulade was tasty. A recent trip to NOLA spoiled me a bit and set a very high standard, but it was still a good reminder of how enjoyable a po'boy can be. I tried my wife's Spicy Shrimp and Grits and this was great, and I regretted not ordering that myself. She thoroughly enjoyed it and was able to make two meals from it. My son was happy with his Cajun Alfredo dish and was also able to make two meals from it. My wife was already making plans for a future visit and I will happily join her. I have my eyes on the shrimp catfish grits dish for my next trip and maybe I will also order one of their mimosas. read more

The hospitality and the atmosphere was nice. There could be some improvement as far as the window treatment, but it was nostalgic. It was very hot in there with no air conditioning and we were sitting in a hot area which doesn't make it very comfortable when you're trying to eat your meal, the food good but I was looking for exceptional. They had no cornbread with offered biscuits with excellent.. the turkey chops or season more in one area versus the other so it wasn't evenly seasons, but the pieces that were evenly seasoned were delicious. We had gone to the location in Chino and really enjoyed ourselves so we were ecstatic that a closer location was opened. On this trip, we went on Sunday for a late brunch. Don't trust the app. It will show that there's zero time on the waitlist, but when we got there, we were told that the wait would be 45 minutes. The lemonades were pricey, but tasty and a good size. The service was pretty slow and discombobulated. My husband and daughter received their entrées and mine had not come yet. It was another 15-20 minutes before my dish came out and they just about finished eating. The table next to us who came 15 minutes after had their food and was eating before my food came out and the gentleman and I had the same dish. It kind of felt like an act of Congress to get a refill on the waters as no one stopped by to check on us. The hot sauces at the table were empty. That being said, the food was good. I enjoyed the catfish and my husband thought his lobster and grits was a 5/5. The mac & cheese was mid and the fried chicken was kind of bland. I liked the greens. It's pretty small inside, probably about 12 tables. Pro tip: Join the waitlist on Yelp. You'll save yourself some frustration by at least already having your name on the list. Not sure what happened with the person who reviewed this place yesterday but our experience was the exact opposite. We were greeted seconds after coming in by Jordana, who was also our server. She was friendly, helpful with menu suggestions and very attentive. We had the breakfast burrito and the chicken and biscuit sliders. Both were wonderful but special shot out to the chicken and biscuits. Best fried chicken I've had since being in New Orleans many years ago! Crispy exterior, juicy and FLAVORFUL interior. This is the worst customer service I have received at a restaurant in the last 10 years. Not only did the food never arrive. They had the nerve to get an attitude and charge me for an orange juice even after that we had sat there for 45 minutes. Why they are certainly entitled to be paid for the orange juice. I thought they'd have enough class to decline my offer to pay in recompense for never delivering the food when they said it was almost going to arrive at the table.
