Sorry, this Asian girl isn't an expert on Mexican food but for whatever it is worth, I enjoyed the food I've received. And the staff is so nice. True taco truck tucked into a busy industrial neighborhood, and even though I've only been twice, it does seem popular with good traffic. There's a few communal tables outside if you don't want to eat in a car. So I've only got tacos here. Their Tortas (sandwiches) seem to also be quite popular here, but since those are usually much too big for me during the lunch hour, I still haven't tried one yet. But in the 2 times I did get tacos here, they were both quite different in style. So I'm assuming depending on which cook you get, you may not get the style you are into, if you are into a particular style, which I am. First time I tried 2 types of tacos. These tacos seemed a bit more basic where the small tortillas were just warmed on a griddle to make them softer and pliable. Second time trying the tacos were griddled with more oil so it had a more pronounced crispness without being brittle. I like this type of tacos much more. Tacos here start at about $3 per and go up with certain items like lengua and tripas. Pretty standard pricing for these days. I used to remember when one could get a 4 taco lunch and a drink for under $10. It was like that for over 20 years of my adult life. Now gotta spend about $20 for lunch. Meats Tried: Carne Asada (3.5*) Pretty basic and standard. Suadero (3*) They use brisket so not OG suadero. It is meaty but could have been cooked to more tender then crisped more on the grill. This just seemed like cubed brisket. Lengua (4*) Pretty proper, no complaints. Tender yet meaty. Definitely needs that salsa to make it pop. Chicharon (2*) I got this once cuz they were out of carnitas. I usually like chicharon whether crisp and fried or re-cooked in a sauce. This was cooked in a sauce which I was looking forward to. But the chicharon pieces were straight fat and I had a hard time with the texture. Usually most chicharon are they type with a bit of meat attached to that skin. Not here. Good thing I only ordered 1 cuz I wouldn't have been able to muscle down 2. I'm sure I'll run into them again, hopefully I can get someone to split a torta with me. read more

I come here often, they have pretty good tacos. I always go for the basic Asada, Al pastor, and or Lengua which are all good, sometimes I think the Lengua can use a little more flavor but all in all it's good. My brother ALWAYS gets himself a Hot Cheeto burrito with Asada and it looks very appetizing. If I'm not mistaken they take cash and card so that's always a plus. Been coming here for years, since the burritos were $5. Times have changed. They're located across the street from target next to the mobile truck depot and Chp office. They pretend not to speak English, over charge and skimp on the food. Use to be the go to place but, just another truck hiring immigrants trying to pass as good cheap good food. This was a unplanned stop and glad we choose to do so. I got the super Carnitas Burrito and the meat was perfect. I was picking it out and Eating it on its own. The over all flavor was also great. I got back home and we were missing 6 tacos out of the 24 we ordered. And when we called to try to give a refund, they can't do it over the phone. "We aren't suppose to do that" Well, you're not suppose to have horrible customer service and you're also not suppose to miss 6 tacos. We ordered $95 dollars worth of food which were 24 tacos and 2 quesadillas. After nicely asking for extra salsas, the cashier, rolled her eyes at me. After purchasing 95$ worth of food and 24 tacos I'm pretty sure it's normal to ask for some extra salsas. After she rolled her eyes at me, I asked firmly but nicely, "did you just roll your eyes at me?" We basically come here once a week and about order $95 dollars worth of food. I called to talk about the interaction and they said they would talk to her, however, after asking for cashiers name.. Brianna hung up on me. I have had good interactions except for this lady who is 98% the cashier. What a sad life you live if you must roll your eyes on a simple request. Pathetic. She consistently has a sorry, sad, hates-her-life attitude and I hope she becomes a much happier person for everyone's sake who has to have an interaction with her. I tried Tacos La Chaparita for the first time and I have to say they are on point. Food was very tasty and authentic, salsa's were good. I tried cabeza, chicharon, asada, al pastor and carnitas. There are two types of people in this world and they both like tacos! I'm super thankful that Hayward's Tacos La Chaparrita taco truck decided to stay open for bidness during shelter-in-place. Sometimes Taco Bell just doesn't do it for me. I only say sometimes because I love me some TB, but there are times when a woman wants something a few notches above bootleg. The tripas tacos from here were good. We also ordered carne asada and birria tacos, but those were just okay. The salsa wasn't show-stopping, but it wasn't bad either. Their new restaurant on Tennyson Rd is just as delicious as the truck. Had asada tacos and a milanesa torta. We have also had buche and cabeza tacos from the truck. The restaurant is super cute inside. I only wish they would dilute their fabuloso cleaning solution before they clean. (Or whatever they clean with, I smelled fabuloso) While I love the clean smell, it was a very strong smell that made me want to leave. 3-years later and this place is still my jam. They have a new truck, same staff, same goodness. Their prices have gone up slightly, but now they accept credit cards, so that's a huge plus (forgot to bring cash). I can't so more that hasn't been said already. The food is good but they put raw onions on EVERYTHING. I like sauteed or cooked onions but I hate raw onions. My job gets tacos from here about once a week so I've only learned what has onions on it by trial and error. All tacos come with raw onions. The guacamole has raw onions mixed into it. I ordered the super nachos today and the description did not list onions so I ordered no guacamole because I know that has onions. Guess what the nachos came with. A buttload of raw onions. I just think if the description doesn't list onions, they shouldn't be on it. The worst part is that they put onions on before the sour cream so there were a few bites where I about died because of the onion sneak attack. Otherwise the food is really good. The size is decent, taste is solid. It was moist I had asked for no beans but they added it. I didn't bother to ask them to re do it... you don't get any chips and salsa though... burrito was $6 and $1 for a can of Coke. Pretty reasonable. Found a place for an affordable lunch in the Union City Area. $2.00 tacos each, .75 Cents for beans, .75 Cents for rice. The salsa and avocado was also .75 Cents each.
