This place is LEGIT. I'm visiting the Boise area from Phoenix so I wasn't expecting to find such amazing Mexican food up here. Their tamales are some of the best I've had. Instead of chips & salsa they bring out a little plate of nachos. Super yummy. Husband enjoyed the 4 street taco combo and I had the quesadillas with 2 tacos. Originally operating out of a truck in Garden City, on June 21 the nice people who own Tacos Loteria moved into a brick and mortar space in Meridian in the building that used to house Von's Chicken in a strip mall with its' own parking lot. If you liked the truck food you'll like the food here. Improvements: If you hated the truck location (hand raised) you'll like this so much better. Plus there is a loo (his and hers) and also accessible parking (aka ADA compliant) just a bit down from the eatery entry and unlike the truck location where picnic tables were inaccessible, there is standard table height seating here. Hours: Closed Monday. Open at 11a all other days. Correct Address: The Yelp page still shows the Garden City truck location. But the correct location is 950 E. Fairview in Meridian. So far I've tried the green chicken and red pork tamales, chicken and asada street tacos, all of their sauces, beans and rice. All were served fresh, hot and wonderful. Very tasty sauces. I do wish they had a salsa. They have a different approach to chips and salsa (complimentary), They serve a plate of chips lightly drizzled with queso and refried beans. Also very good. Ok, so I finally went back to try the chicken fajitas. I had a sit down experience this time. Here's the good: friendly service, food came out pretty quick. That's it. I guess I just have to say that the type of Mexican food they serve must be authentic to the region the family is from. Not your typical dishes. That's not a bad thing, just something to know in advance. The not so good: They don't serve chips and salsa! I have NEVER been to a Mexican restaurant that did not serve chips and salsa. Server said they offer some nacho type thing on weekdays. The food: My friend's 4 carnitas street tacos had so much onion and cilantro she had to remove half. There was more onions/cilantro than there was meat, so that was weird. I was very disappointed in the chicken fajitas. The extremely flat chicken slices, maybe pounded so thin to cook quickly?, were marinated in a tomato based sauce, again something I have never come across previously. I didn't care for it. The beans were bland and flavorless, the rice needs something.? You can pay your check through the Toast app, a random option, or be charged $1.00 to pay with a credit card. We went to Tacos Loteria tonight for our 1st time & it was so good! Our kids ordered the 4 taco combo plates with chicken & asada tacos, rice, beans & happily finished everything! My husband ordered the adobada sopas & loved them! I had the combo with 2 tamales (red & green), 2 tacos (asada & adobada), rice, beans, avocado sauce & they were delicious! Visited new storefront in Meridian Super fast service 4 tacos w/ beans and rice 11.99 1 tamale 3.00 1 large drink 2.85 I got 2 carne asada tacos and 2 tacos de al pastor. The tortillas were pretty mushy barely holding together, but I think they were fresh and just too steamy. Al pastor were pretty good, better flavor. The carne asada didn't have much flavor. I normally never leave reviews ever... this was next level bad. and I'm upset because it was over $60 for probably the worst food I've ever had. we ordered tacos sopes flan rice and beans and horchata and every single item was inedible. the rice tasted like uncle Ben's, the beans were a weird texture that was like slime, the horchata was watered down, the carne asada was pure fat and gristle, and the flan was the foulest texture I've ever seen. this place has to be a front because there's no way that is really what they're serving and making money. do not go there read more

Just tried this place for lunch. My husband had the 4 tacos lunch special and said each flavor of taco meat was excellent. I ordered the Pollo la Crema and it is the best I've had from a restaurant. We will be back for sure. read more

Visited their newly opened storefront location today and really enjoyed it! Ordered the shrimp and beef fajitas for $21 and it came with plenty of both including homemade tortillas and all the fixings. Very good and couldn't eat it all. The 3 different sauces were also good with the habenaro being quite hot but tasty. My wife ordered the chicken burrito and really like it too. We each brought home about 1/2 our meals. Service was fast and courteous, the owners were very cordial and aimed to please. Lunch check came to $34 and worth it. Would we go back, definitely. I went in for this weekend, this place is not like the ordinary "Mexican" restaurant that's more Americanized than anything. I have been to Mexico and this is good just like that. Everything is homemade from the tortillas to every dish. You can see that the family takes their time & wants everything to be to our satisfaction. The servers there are very nice and polite. I asked about chips and salsa but They explained they do their nacho plate on weekdays cause that's what they offer while Ordering from their menu & on weekends they are packed so they can't be doing that since they have buffet( which is understandable) I recommend on trying the buffet from each dish to the desserts. The coffee is to die for, it's not like the coffee from here. I recommend this place to give it a try. Like I said this place is not like any Mexican restaurant don't expect to get ground beef or stuff you see in a restaurant (Mexican). Ok, im a guy that eats a lot of tacos. After spending almost 30 years in the Pasco, Othello, Moses Lake WA area I know tacos. It's been difficult to find good tacos in the Boise area. Al pastor taco for the win. There are actual chunks of pineapple in the taco . Pollo and asada were good as well.
