I don't live there anymore but still will find time to go back when I can and eat here. When my bf is with me and we're visiting, we almost always want Mexican and will find ourselves here. This is good and bad-good because you're not eating yesterday's food and bad because you have to look for something else. Thanks to Yelp, Rico's Tacos was just down the street so we said, "why not". Rico's has a pretty extensive menu but we opted for tacos. There were many varieties offered and each taco could be customized by choosing the type of tortilla and whatever garnishes such as onions, tomato, peppers, cilantro etc. you wanted. We both ordered a carne asada and al Pastor tacos. Another wonderful find. these tacos were unbelievably good with great meats and flavors. We also sampled the standard and "hot" salsas preferring the hot. Service was quick and friendly. I'll also add "patient" as this was our first time and we had lots of decisions to make. Rico's is another stop to add to our driving south (and back home) list.

I feel like a better corn tortilla would really make the taco worth the $2. Be advised, they will not give you water with your meal. If you want water, you have to buy a bottle of water. Silverware is also self service because to the soft drink machine. If you ask for anything, you'll be pointed to where you can get it yourself. Whether intentional or not, it created the perception that customers with whom employees shared a common language or cultural familiarity were receiving preferential treatment. In any customer-facing business, perception matters just as much as intent. Restaurants succeed when every customer believes they are treated with the same level of respect, attentiveness, and fairness. If there are legitimate reasons why orders are prepared or served out of sequence, those reasons should be transparent and consistently applied. Otherwise, customers are left to conclude that different standards are being used. I might return because the food was enjoyable, but I hope management evaluates its service practices to ensure that every guest receives an equally attentive and equitable experience, regardless of the language they speak or their background.
