Authentic, delicious and spicy! When I walked in I quickly realized I was one of the FEW that weren't speaking Spanish--luckily-I can get by speaking un poquito--mas o menos! I was so excited reading the reviews on yelp. This was the one spot I was going to hit before hitting the road to Rhode Island. It did not disappoint. Tacos are really cheap--$1.30 each if I remember correctly. I tried 2 barbacoa tacos, 2 carne asada and 1 shredded pork! All tacos are on corn tortillas and their salsa verde has a great kick (you've been warned). If you like spicy--it's not bad. I also tried the bright orange salsa (?). I'm still not sure what it was (it wasn't a queso) but it was spicy too but I preferred the verde salsa. If I'm ever back in Denver I would definitely take friends to experience this gem! Every time I go to Tacos Selene I'm greeted with a great smile as if I'm a family member coming to visit. When I order, I always order something new to enjoy. I have went there and seen several United States Military People, who they're always happy to serve, ordering food and being served and being thanked for their services to our country. Tried this place based on the reviews I saw here on Yelp, and I was not disappointed! Despite the fact that you order at the counter, they had the employees coming around to the tables to clear off plates and to bring our order out to us. I asked for a side of sour cream, and the girl went in the back and brought it out to me. Pretty good customer service. But really the food was the star. I couldn't believe the prices! Reading reviews on here ahead of time, my friend and I knew that it would be quite the wait but we weren't in a rush so it worked out. Yes, it was a loooong wait even though we went during the tail end of lunch time but the TACOS ARE SO WORTH IT. Most likely, the wait time is because the tacos come out hot & fresh, which doesn't happen at other places anymore buuut that's beside the fact. I had the pollo (chicken), alpastor (pork with pineapple) and the adobada (pork) tacos. It was like an explosion of flavors in your mouth, the seasoning of the meat was incredible. & if you are an explorer, test out their salsa bar. I had a burrito and a sope the burrito I did not finish I was not impressed and I think it was the tortilla that I did not love about it - it was a little too thick and had a weird texture but I had a barbacoa sope and that was really good they make the sope tortillas there and it's very fresh it was seriosly great one of the best sopes I've ever had. Yes, this place may be hard to find because it's located in a small shopping center that looks run down. You can call this place- a hole in the wall but the food here is legit! Their menu consists of: tacos, burritos, tortas, sopas, quesadilla/sincronizadas. Types of meats: asada-beef, adobada-pork, lengua-beef tongue, barbacoa-shredded beef, al pastor-pork & pineapple, pollo-chicken, and tripa-tripe. I usually order the lengua tacos but one night they were out so my bf got me carne asada tacos. It was good but not as good as the lenguas. Don't let me love for lengua steer you away from trying other meats because their tacos and burritos are very delicious! My bf got the adobada-pork burritos and I ate most of it. I recommend this place and gave it 5 stars. The staff is very friendly and very helpful in answering any questions you have about their menu. Next time I want to try their Tripe and the Al Pastor tacos-pork and pineapple sounds promising. read more

Finally found a place like back home!! I lived along the Texas-Mexican border my whole life. So my goal was to find places that remind me of home. And this place was it! Always trust the Mexican places that look like holes in the walls. The decor of this place is pretty much what you'd expect at a taco stand back home. The people who work there are also super sweet. The tacos are served as: two corn tortillas soft, meat, onions (optional), and cilantro (optional). When they say if you want everything on it they are talking about those two things. The tacos are 1.50 and DELICIOUS! There is also a salsa bar that you can get onions, radishes, lemon, roasted jalapeño, and a variety of salsas. Only true the red one which was yummy!! They also serve items like sopes, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, and other stuff. I didn't notice until right when I was leaving but if you get an agua fresca (like horchata or jamica) they come in HUGE glasses. I almost turned around to get one.
