Came here for brunch & was pleasantly surprised w everything! Love the ambiance of this rooftop & the full bar is very beautiful. The only reason they don't get five stars is for the lack of vegan options. The service was great ! We came on a very slow day so there were only two other tables occupied while we were there. The food & drinks we did order were great. I would definitely come back for brunch :)

One of my favorite experiences while visiting LA. We used resort pass to use the pool. Something about this spot stood out in my scrolling and I'm so glad it did! Butterfly + pool are two tandem experiences. The service was awesome, we really loved Dana, our Culver City native who took care of us all day and even recommended other spot to go when we left. The views, the pool, and the food were fantastic. Truly a fantastic spot for the day. WE spent about 5 hours and an unspeakable amount of money on drinks but it was all worth it.

The breakfast was amazing and delicious. The service was great. The place was bright airy and relaxing. Its on the rooftop of the hotel. The view from there was beautiful. I would recommend this place for sure.

My friend and I stopped by Saturday night for dinner and drinks and were very well taken care of. The Butterfly is a charming rooftop restaurant with delicious food and drinks. We both had the carne asada tacos and shared the queso fundido con tequila--everything was super tasty, and the fresh tortillas were excellent. I ordered the yuzu margarita with a sugar rim, which was delicious, and my friend had a classic margarita, also with a sugar rim. We arrived around 8:15, close to their 9:00 closing time, but never felt rushed. In fact, it was nice having fewer diners so we could fully enjoy the atmosphere. Our servers, Joey and Malik, were amazing, and Tony at valet helped make the whole experience even better. I'll definitely be back to check out the brunch scene this summer.

Beautiful place at Shay Hotel! This would en a great place for brunch or a girls' event. Lovely views by the pool. Friendly staff. Delicious tacos (the shrimp and fish were best).

Came here for Dine La. We got the lunch special for $35. We chose this restaurant because we had more to choose from but they do provide a disclaimer that the portion sizes are smaller than the usual. We got to try their Guac and queso which both were really good. The Guac was almost perfect. It didn't need any extra lime or salt. The queso was packed with flavor but I think it was a little heavy on the seasoning. The tortilla chips were good and nicely seasoned and the blue corn tortillas were good as well. Next we had the ahi tuna ceviche and coconut ceviche. Both were also tasty and fresh. The coconut ceviche was creamy but included corn nuts which I thought was a little random. The ahi tuna had pecans and that I enjoyed. We both got the Baja fish tacos and agreed it was good. It was just crispy enough w the right amount of flavor. Only thing is they were so tiny and we got one each. The waiter said it's usually one taco but bigger so just so you know. I'd like to order two but one is already overpriced. We finished with some chocolate flan and churros and I think these were the best out of everything. The chocolate flan was rich in this expresso flavor and the churros were crispy outside and shush chewy enough. It came either two churros and chocolate sauce to dip it in which I love! We both got cucumber mocktails which was nice and refreshing. The ambiance was super cute and clean. Definitely got the LA vibes. Theres plenty of seating whether you'd like to sit at a table or the lounges closer to the pool. I def want to come back to enjoy the pool and try out some of their other food but I'll know to expect a bit of a splurge and not quite getting a bang for your buck when it comes to the food.

Really great vibe. Great cocktail menus and wonderful friendly staff. You are greeted right away and servers are very attentive. Would totally come again. Great views.

Loved the spicy Margarita! I was able to order a skinny version so there was no sugar added. Service was friendly, ambiance was nice bring it was a rooftop. I look forward to going back to check out their food menu. There's no cheap parking options, you can valet, I dummy believe they validate. If you're willing to walk, you can find some street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods.

5 stars for service 3 stars for food. The six of us had dinner and ate family style. Beautiful room with warm golden lighting, and a cozy fireplace that makes the whole space feel inviting and comfortable. Hits Shrimp with poblano and sweet black chili Perfectly cooked shrimp with that ideal snap when bitten into. The sweet black garlic added depth and richness that made this one of the standout dishes. Fish taco (rockfish) The breaded rockfish was fried to absolute perfection with crisp exterior, tender flaky interior. The chile arbol mayo, crema, salsa pico added that quintessential tastebud lube that is the hallmark of a good fish taco. Very well executed. Chips, salsa, and guacamole Excellent. The chips were warm, freshly made, and perfectly crispy. The salsa and guacamole were bright and flavorful. CHOCOLAN Otherworldly. A moist chocolate cake steeped in espresso and rum, paired with creamy flan, vanilla-coffee caramel, and whipped cream. This dessert was the highlight of the entire meal. Misses Quesadilla de Chicharrón This one fell flat. The tortilla was oily and soggy, and the filling not memorable . Carnitas taco The chicharrón topping added great crispy texture and flavor, but the pork itself fell flat as it lacked seasoning and didn't deliver the depth or richness you'd expect. Overall a gorgeous space with exceptional service. A huge shoutout to Quinn and his team for being incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. They really elevate the evening. Happy Eating!

Such a cute aesthetic to this rooftop bar/restaurant. They have a cozy outdoor space with sofas and fire pits surrounding a pool. They also have regular dining tables by the bar. I came here for dinner yesterday with 3 friends, and it was pretty empty so we initially sat by one of the fire pit sofas, but it wasn't the best setup for having plates of food, so we moved to a regular table. I ordered the salt air margarita, their signature drink, and the quesadilla de chicharron. The drink was good, and the food was alright. The quesadilla was more cheese than meat. But the service and drinks were good.

Ambiance is a 10/10. It definitely meets the rooftop vibe you'd want to experience. Parking in culver city sucks, but there is a 2hr free lot off National by Warner Bros. You have to get validation from that coffee shop. I only had the Baja fish taco and the non-alcoholic margarita. Enjoyed the food but it is pricey as you'd expect for a hotel restaurant. I also noticed they bring chips and salsa to the table without prompting but charge you for it. Service was good, it was a light day. I'd check it out again.

Cute dog friendly rooftop in Culver! Came here for lunch on Sunday. It was nice that it wasn't crowded. Parking is difficult- you either have to valet for $18 or park at Ivy Station ($18 max). I went to validate my ticket at a coffee shop for 2 hours. The guacamole, ceviche, and tacos were good! The chilaquiles were drenched in sauce so the chips weren't crunchy anymore and I didn't really care for the shrimp dish we got. Overall, it is pricey for Mexican food, but you get aesthetic vibes by the pool.

We arrived at a peak rush-hour time. Plenty of parking, and, while the line looked quite intimidating, the wait was not nearly as bad as it looked. Really fast service and friendly staff members. Note that there's not a lot of seating, so be prepared to potentially eat in your car or take the food to-go. I ordered a Tito's taco, an enchilada, a cup of guacamole to accompany the chips and salsa with my order, and a piña agua fresca. The taco was delicious. It could have been stuffed just a bit more, but it absolutely hit the spot. The enchilada was not nearly as good as the taco, unfortunately. Texture was very tough and dense, and the flavors were not quite there. The piña agua, however, was absolutely fantastic. Tasted exactly like a fresh pineapple with a perfect level of sweetness. The chips and salsa were my favorite part of the meal, though. The salsa was superb, the guac tasted great (very much a creamy, less viscous texture), and the chips were perfectly fried and obviously fresh. Personally, I thought the prices were fair for what we received. Way higher than a taco stand where the quality would be better, equal or slightly less than a taqueria, but way lower than one of the boutique taco shops around the area, especially given the fact that the chips and salsa come with each meal.

The tacos remain the best beef hard shell and the salsa is the best in the world. However, it is an absolute tragedy and should be illegal that it's $6.15 for one taco with cheese and $14.70 for a beef cheese burrito. It is also a tragedy that the burrito is kids size that my 2 year old can eat on their own. These used to be my favorite and huge, but I can no longer order them. This place used to be a family favorite but I can no longer order extras like we used to. They closed off the inside which was convenient to order, I think just to make the outside look busy. I'm not a fan of these new changes to my favorite taco place in LA.

Orders come out quick and help yourself to the condiments bar filled with limes, pickled onions, red and green salsas and sauces, radishes, and pico de gallo. My only gripe is that the prices continue to rise and the chips and salsa are only free for the first basket, which really takes away the appeal of a local family style Mexican restaurant. My fav burrito is now $20, and while the burrito itself is large, it's a high price to pay for just a burrito with no sides. I think if the chips and salsa were still unlimited the increase in food prices wouldn't be such a hit as well. Their drinks are always great I just wish they had happy hour since the prices really are up there with other new and modern restaurants with no fun deals or unlimited chips and salsa like many other family style places. Their servers are kind and attentive and there's not a crazy amount of tables so there tends to be a wait no matter the time of day. I had ingested several bites of it, (with hot sauce), but I couldn't take another bite. The meat was chemically contaminated & I got sick not long after for the whole night. It was important for me to tell the person that runs the stand. I had the best of intentions to help this business and wanted nothing in return. I walked up to the stand & asked the woman who takes the cash, (with the sharp eyebrows), if I could please speak to the person in charge, (or owner). At first she ignored me & then said, "I don't understand - no speak English." I asked who speaks English and she sent me to the back of the line by the cooks. I stood there for another 10 minutes and no one wanted to talk to me or answer my question. I told them that there was a big problem with their meat the night before & had brought back the entire meal, so they could try the meat. No one did anything except talk to each other in Spanish, (which I understood). The cook graciously offered me a replacement meal & tried to problem solve. The tall man, who spoke English, (as shown next to cashier Karen in the photo), was going to give me a replacement meal. I waited 15-20 minutes. I asked for the chicken quesadilla, and the vitriol that came out of cashier Karen, who said she didn't speak English was unbelievable. She refused to give me any food and said I had to pay $6 for the replacement taco. I tried to tell her that it was a replacement and she kept yelling aggressively at me and said, "no - you pay $6. You're not getting anything " and that I, "never bought any taco." She became angry and verbally abusive because I was getting a replacement meal, as a solution to my getting chemically poisoned. She was a bully and aggressively yelling at me to humiliate me in front of the other customers & personnel. By this time she had no problem speaking English. (A group of young ladies started talking to me, felt bad that I was the focus of cashier Karen's rudeness. They complimented me & wished me a good night.) The guy next to cashier Karen handed me the bag with the quesadilla. I asked cashier Karen for her name and she ignored me. Then I asked the guy next to her what her name was and he put his hands together like duck lips and rudely opened and closed his hand at me, (meaning that I'm talking to much) This was extremely inappropriate & as soon as I left, I threw the food out, because I didn't trust or hold it past any of them to have put something nasty in my food. By the way, there was never a possibility that I would be refunded. By this time I was so upset, I was sorry that I had generously tipped them the night before. Even cashier Karen's response to the tip had been of surprise; but then I remembered she had not even acknowledged it or said thank you, after receiving it. What this staff does not, is that I owned and operated a successful fine dining restaurant & wedding venue for 17 years. I have done consulting for small restaurant businesses, pro bono, in order for the businesses to financially thrive. I know how food is cooked, how it should be stored, when the oil needs to be changed, marketing, accounting, et al., as well as the health dept's requirements, in order to keep the public healthy and well. What I believe happened to the meat and reason I took my food back to the taco stand; is because they had been out of chicken. Since there was a meat shortage, more carne asada needed to be barbecued quickly. An abundance of lighter fluid was used to quicken the process & it possibly got on the grill, where the meat is placed; and the cooking process started well before the coals were ready. It shouldn't matter whether you go to a restaurant, food truck or taco stand, customers should be treated with respect, kindness & consideration - and it's called customer service. A customer shouldn't be lied to, yelled at, insulted and humiliated by any employee of the business. It should be run in a transparent and professional manner. I'm 64 yrs young & have never written one negative comment or review about any restaurant. Nor have I ever been treated with such disrespect, malice and ill intent. I felt it important to tell my story because nobody should experience what I did; in eating compromised food and then being made to feel like I did something bad. This is what bullies do and I've never had a problem in clarifying right from wrong, as well as responsibility and accountability. I didn't have a choice and had to give a star.
