I've been eating here for well over 40 years now. I very much used to crave it. That was up until this past Saturday--this will certainly by my last visit. Tacos are now $6.15 each. Burritos are nearly $20 each. I *was* OK with the gradual price increases because the quality was consistent. However for those kinds of prices, I expect to get what I pay for. I did not this time, nor the last few times. Additionally the people ("security") handing out orders ever since the beginning of the pandemic are very rude. 3 stars only because I've been coming here for over 20 years. The tacos with cheese, beef/cheese burrito, and 1 large salsa have always been my go to order. The tacos remain the best beef hard shell and the salsa is the best in the world. However, it is an absolute tragedy and should be illegal that it's $6.15 for one taco with cheese and $14.70 for a beef cheese burrito. It is also a tragedy that the burrito is kids size that my 2 year old can eat on their own. These used to be my favorite and huge, but I can no longer order them. This place used to be a family favorite but I can no longer order extras like we used to. They closed off the inside which was convenient to order, I think just to make the outside look busy. Ahhh what to say here?? The service is relatively fast and they have a great system for order pick up. The prices are almost decent overall but that is where the good ends. They have a small parking lot they share with another restaurant that is very crowded and not enough, but there is some street parking along the way. The food is not very good, lettuce and cheese on tacos and 'guacamole' out of a bag. The burritos are on the smaller side and the tacos lack flavor. Stopped by with my spouse for a quick and cheap bite. I had heard about Tito's being a famous, beloved west side spot, so I was eager to check it out! We arrived at a peak rush-hour time. Plenty of parking, and, while the line looked quite intimidating, the wait was not nearly as bad as it looked. Really fast service and friendly staff members. Note that there's not a lot of seating, so be prepared to potentially eat in your car or take the food to-go. I ordered a Tito's taco, an enchilada, a cup of guacamole to accompany the chips and salsa with my order, and a piña agua fresca. The taco was delicious. It could have been stuffed just a bit more, but it absolutely hit the spot. The enchilada was not nearly as good as the taco, unfortunately. Texture was very tough and dense, and the flavors were not quite there. The piña agua, however, was absolutely fantastic. Tasted exactly like a fresh pineapple with a perfect level of sweetness. The chips and salsa were my favorite part of the meal, though. The salsa was superb, the guac tasted great (very much a creamy, less viscous texture), and the chips were perfectly fried and obviously fresh. Personally, I thought the prices were fair for what we received. Way higher than a taco stand where the quality would be better, equal or slightly less than a taqueria, but way lower than one of the boutique taco shops around the area, especially given the fact that the chips and salsa come with each meal. read more

It's been awhile since I updated my review even though I have eaten there several times since my last review. Inflation has seemed to affected many businesses including Tito's Tacos. I remember when the taxis were larger, more lettuce and cheese. Over the years I noticed there are less ingredients in Tacos. I still like the crunch of the tacos and the Chips. Came on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was fine, that's good. Short line, ordered a burrito and the wife some tacos. . Did not enjoy the burrito. Wasn't tasty, and basically all beans. The tacos were OK , but cheese isn't melted. Chips and salsa were fine. We would not return. Security guard is outside , calling orders. He was friendly. Plenty of space to eat inside. Restrooms were clean. Most people were getting food to go. I had stomach problems later in the evening , which is rare to me. Tons of gas, lol. Anyways, would not return. Would not recommend. It's been a while since I've been to the iconic Tito's Tacos. I never thought it was that good, or why so many people rave about it. They always seem to have a steady stream of customers so maybe I'm the odd man out regarding Tito's tastiness. I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd give it another chance. First off, they have plenty of free parking, so that's a big plus. The woman who took our order was really nice. You place your order and then stand back on the sidewalk and wait for them to shout your number. It works. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We wanted to sit indoors, but the fan was so loud we couldn't even hear each other. There are picnic benches in both the front and the back. I had a bean and cheese burrito. $8.45, and my friend had a meat, bean, and cheese burrito. $11.60. My friend described the burrito perfectly. She said it was "gooey." Mine was too. It's gooey refried beans and cheese with an odd texture. The tortilla that wrapped it was excellent. Soft and chewy, so it was a combination of gooey and chewy! You get a few chips and salsa to go with it, and they give you just enough. The salsa was excellent. I wish it were a tad bit hotter, but the flavor was great! Lots of garlic. Many, many years ago, I use to work in WLA and would drop by TT to pick up my dinner. My go-to were two tacos with cheese and a bean and cheese burrito (I would use some of the bean and cheese from the burrito for the chips). Today, I happened to be in WLA and decided to revisit TT. Instead of my go-to, I only got one taco with cheese. After all these years, it's still the same. You got the hard, crunchy taco shell with nicely flavored shredded beef, sliced lettuce and medium-sized grated cheese. I would consider the salsa as mild. I wanted to enjoy this. But it wasn't even decent and the overall experience is bad. First off there is no parking, you wait in a long line and there is nowhere to sit. I'm Mexican so I have to denounce this, the tortilla is plain no flavor and not even fried correctly, its a terrible, uneven texture. The meat is not seasoned and the vegetables do not offer any sort of fresh taste.. The chips were OK, but the salsa was not spicy and tasted like jarred tomatoes... staff was friendly, but I will never come back and i dont recommend anyone visit this places. Not any more... I haven't been there for over a year but went today and was appalled by the pricing. A taco with cheese is $6.15 and a burrito with beef, bean and cheese is $11.95. My total with a soda was $21.30, which is too much for a taco stand. I went at 12:30 PM, and there was virtually no line, which is a contrast to years ago, when there were like 40+ people standing in line. The taco was good, the burrito was good too, but $21.00 and a 40 drive across town with bad parking is a no go for me. I know Tito's has many, many fans, and I used to be one of them. Tito's Tacos is a timestamp in history that you can have in the present. This is my older sibling's era of munchies while they were growing up. They lived in the westside while I grew up in the valley. My taste palettes grew up on other food items so at first glance Tito's isn't it for me. I do remember having Tito's as a child and remembering the same taste decades later. It is amazing to see the consistency throughout the many years. (except for the prices) Every time my brother comes to visit LA he jokes of wanting Tito's, but i know he really means it. We'll go and get an order of things and take it to go. I've been coming here since 1980. This used to be my grandma's and my mom's SPOT!! Where $10 went a loooong way. Well I haven't been out this was for a while and wanted to hit up the spot! A lot has changed from the once jammed packed restaurant to a more corporate approach. No more multi lines inside amd outside. Just 1 line outside. The prices are RIDICULOUS too high! Also, the size of the burrito has gotten smaller. 2 burritos 6 tacos and 1 large salsa $120. Then the new guy, not one of the "tias" took my order and messed it up completely. One of the ladies had to help him figure out most of the order. Anways the taste was still there. I was happy about that. It wasn't as packed as before. Times definitely are changing. Came here during my hideous to our plus weight at the DMV a few blocks away from here in Culver city. Now this review will be relatively brief, keeping in mind that all things are relevant-and that few, if any establishments are immune to the passing of time. Simply put, as a damn near 30 plus year resident of Culver city, I'm well aware that this place is a virtual landmark and also holds cultural significance to Culver City proper. Truth be told, I wasn't that hungry, but was bored stiff as a result of the long line I had been waiting for, and still had in front of me at the dmv. And so one or two tacos can't hurt right? The tacos were good. Now I wouldn't necessarily certainly do backflips over them, (but my take on things are slightly biased since I've been here in Culver City so long and kind of judge them at what I remember the tacos tasting like when I was in my teens, 20s, 30s, and so on). But assuming you're closing in on the half century mark on this dear Earth of ours,what product, place or person is what it used to be right? Being that this is the beginning of the week, and after the lunch rush, and before the evening crowd, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. All in all a solid experience! There is no sign to tell you where the line to order is so I walked straight up to an open window to wait 5 minutes till security told me where the line is. The lady taking was very nice. Speed of the order came out quick considering how many people were there. The food was excellent ordered the Tito's taco with cheese and was absolutely delicious crunchy shell fresh lettuce and cheese and very flavorful meat. The ambience in the dining area is very loud due to the old fans that are keeping the place cool. Dining area is small so there is limited seating. Tables and chairs are little old along with everything else on the inside but the dining is pretty clean for the most part. There are two bathrooms only one user at the time pretty dirty when I used them. Overall the food is excellent but everything else is just okay. read more

It really wasn't anything special and I felt as if I could make it myself. It didn't have a special seasoning or anything that would make it stand out to the other tacos that I have had in the past either. Bean, Cheese, and Beef Burrito - It felt pretty mushy and was a pile of goop. There was no textural difference between any of the ingredients inside this burrito and wasn't particularly flavorful as well. From my experience coming to Tito's Tacos, I don't think it was anything special. I could probably replicate everything I ate here myself down to the seasonings. I will say that I liked the salsa here a lot. It was pretty thin but had the grainy texture of tomato that I liked! My boyfriend say videos of Tito's Tacos on You-Tube. We happened to be in LA for the day and saw the sign, so we decided to spontaneously stop in for a snack. They had their own parking lot, but there was definitely a line for the food. We ordered 2 Tito's Tacos with Cheese ($5.95/each). They provide complimentary chips and salsa with all orders. They had a comfortable interior seating area and also seats outdoors. The seating was well maintained with a designated staff that came around and gave each table a through sweep and wipe down as each table left. I was SO IMPRESSED by her cleaning. She got that edges of the tables too, which are usually missed. I was watching her in awe the whole time at how on top of things she was. When the tacos were ready, we were really excited to try them. The shells were extra crispy and there was a good amount of beef and cheese filling... However taste wise it's probably just a smidge better than Taco Bell. Definitely not worth the price tag... The complimentary chips were really crispy and you can tell they're made fresh, but the salsa were bland and watery. A nice novelty item but we both don't feel compelled to come back. read more

Have always passed by Tito's and been curious to know what the hype was and let me just say I don't understand it. The tacos weren't bad but they weren't the best I've ever had. I read a review before trying it about how someone would prefer jack in a box tacos over this and if I'm being quite frank, I'd agree. I got 8 tacos with cheese, a bean and cheese burrito, and 1 large horchata for $65 dollars and I was absolutely thrown off by the price. It may seem like a lot of food but almost $6 bucks for a taco is kinda ridiculous! Nonetheless, it was not a bad taco, it just was a mediocre experience and I would say it's more of a one and done place that you should try and get over with.
