Came here for a working lunch and grabbed drinks! I had the bowl way with asada and it was tasty! A little more spicy than I expected but it was really good and a nice portion size. Update!! Came here today for lunch. Again I was greeted right away and was able to seat myself. Waitress was very friendly and took my drink orders right away. Again I was given chips and salsa and definitely noticed changes to the salsa and let me say I DEVOURED it!! Omg I hate incident ask for any to take home haha. Drinks are super good. We got a lot of drinks and all of them were good. My favorite was the margarita flight. I'm not a fan of jamaica but that one and the cucumber one was my favorite. The food was not that great. I got chilaquiles. They were super dry and flavorless. The beans were also flavorless. I would definitely want to come later to try their dinner menu to see if that's actually better. We mainly came for the drinks and that did not disappoint. Overall good experience. read more

Went here thinking it might be like the previous Salt and Ash that occupied the location earlier... whoops. Maybe THE rudest staff I've ever encountered. Food's way over priced for its quality and the customer service is atrocious. A manager actual became belligerent and cussed me out later over the phone. I really only ever use yelp to read other reviews but never write any myself. The experience I had at TacosWay is well deserving of my first review. I dined in on a Monday night, it wasn't too busy and it was our first time there so I had our server guide us through the menu. Brandon was super knowledgeable and answered all my questions without skipping a beat. Everything we ended up ordering was something he recommended to us and he definitely knew what he was talking about. The atmosphere, food, and especially the cocktails are enough for a 5 star review on their own but the service really took it to the next level. We'll be back time and time again! read more

Tacosway is a cute gem in Placentia. I immediately noticed the nice decor and music. We were greeted and seated right away but the waitress. I ordered the chilaquiles verdes and a margarita both perfect for Saturday brunch. The drink was amazing and worth the money. I ordered the chilaquiles with a sunny side-up egg and it was perfection. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for amazing service, great tasting quality food, and mouth quenching drinks! Upon entering the restaurant you're greeted and welcomed. The menu is COVID style, so all you have to do is snap a picture of the QR code or find it on the website. There are also hand sanitizers dispersed throughout the place, it's kept clean, and the staff follows regulations by wearing masks and gloves. The staff is attentive and friendly. We were even greeted by the friendly and kind manager. Now, the food! Oh my gosh! It's absolutely delicious! I ordered the Birria Combo and all the flavors were perfect! The meat was super soft, juicy, and as soon as it hits your mouth it burts with flavor. All in all I absolutely loved this place! Go check it out and enjoy some amazing food and drinks. I was really excited to check this place out. Their margarita situation sounded and looked delicious! We were there on a Friday afternoon for Happy Hour, pumped and ready to go. Right off the bat, I got a weird vibe from the guy at the bar when we walked in. There was no host or a sign to "Seat yourself" or anything like that. No big deal, just wanted to make sure we could do happy hour menu on the outside patio as I know some places restrict it to only in the bar area. When I walked up, the bartender gave me a look like I was bothering him even though there were maybe one or two people at the bar. Okay, whatever, he said we could do HH on the patio. Super! The server comes to take our order. One of our items was the HH NachosWay. No description of them on the HH menu, but no problem because we found it on the Botanaway menu--*Choice of protein*, topped beans, cheese, crema, guac, sauce, salsa, onions, & cilantro. We got it with soy chorizo and were super excited because we're vegetarians and not many places carry plant based proteins! When we ordered, the server asked if we were getting the HH or the Botanaway version because the HH version is smaller, is that okay? Of course that was totally fine, we'll just do the smaller size. We also got a burrito from the dinner menu, same with soyrizo. When they brought our food, they had the order wrong. They brought the Papasway instead of the nachos, but they took them back and brought out the correct item. A bit annoying because we only ordered two food items, and the server got wrong the one item she clarified. Though she didn't bother writing it down. Whatever. There was little service/checking in with us after that, which was even more annoying because the place was pretty dead inside and out. I had to go inside and order a drink at the bar because no one was coming out. At the end of the meal, they brought our check and they had added an upcharge for the soyrizo in both items, $3 for each item! I went inside and it was the grumpy bartender again. He explained that they charge extra for soyrizo on the nachos because the HH ones don't get a protein (nowhere was that specified, not even by the server who made sure to tell us the HH portion was smaller). Then he said soyrizo was extra on the burrito because their kitchen doesn't always stock it. We pointed out that this was not specified on the menu (only mention is $2 upcharge for lengua or cabeza). The soyrizo was listed with the other regular proteins, asada, chicken, carnitas, birria, and al pastor. The guy argued with us, making it seem like it was obvious that there would be an upcharge for that protein. Then he actually told us that they can charge more if they want to! He ended up taking off one of the extra charges, but he was really surly about the whole thing. Even though he conceded that they don't mention this upcharge on their menu, he didn't seem at all apologetic about the miscommunication on their part. I guess after all this, I should mention the food and drinks. It was good. I got a margarita flight. The highlight was the guava margarita. The others were just meh. The nachos and the burrito were actually pretty tasty. I don't see myself going back there. Sometimes dining is as much about the experience as it is about the food, maybe even more. This place didn't have a single friendly person working that evening, hidden charges, and slow/bad service. read more

All you who have left bad reviews need to just stay home. I am a person who at times does read reviews and most of the bad ones are BS...this is the first time I have come here and I have to say the Staff is amazing, super helpful in every aspect, our tacos were delicious and I can't believe how delicious the Mescal Pineapple drink was....wow I would drink these daily if I could. Last time I came here was almost two years ago. The service has definitely changed. I was apart of a party of 8 and we were the only people at the restaurant besides a couple. Although the restaurant was fully staffed, and not busy on a Saturday night, the service was slow. The waiter we got was very nice pregnant lady and she did the best to her ability. However, I was surprised no one else on the staff helped her with serving, it's disappointing in my opinion, especially with such a big party on a slow night. I ordered two grilled fish tacos and got two hard tortillas that resembled tostadas. I also added a rice and beans which I didn't realize was $6 extra cost. My plate ended up totaling $20 for regular sized tacos with rice and beans. The fish tacos were a little too spicy and kinda dry. The rice I got was a little hard. Normally I'm not one to complain however the food was overpriced for the quality, for what I ordered. For the other people in my party that ordered the nachos and the burritos, they were very happy with their food. For the enchiladas however they came out too spicy to which the person in our group that ordered them couldn't even eat their food. It would be helpful if on their menu they listed a spice level for their food. I will say for the drinks, the price is worth it. They do have a lot of flavorful sweet drinks on their menu but it would be nice to see some options that are not too sweet. read more

First impressions i thought this place would be really good. The waitress took our drink orders first. Then came back we ordered food and the two other people i was with order the birra platter and the other the quesabirra tacos. Their food came out within 15 mins. I ordered the Cali burrito. My food didn't come out until 30-45 after everyone's food had already came. The waitress never apologized for the long wait or anything. After she dropped it off i needed a knife and she never came back to check on us at all. My boyfriend had to get up and ask another waitress for a knife because our original waitress was busy talking to the cooks or something. Wouldn't recommend coming here just because of the long wait and poor customer service. What a shame. read more

Ok first off, let's just note, Hospitality is five star. And the chilaquiles verdes extra spicy well... they just hit different from another world and another land! SUPER ! and Brandon our bartender came through with some old fashions ... and OMG! SO CAL! Give this Man a Nobel Prize!! he is an artist! a scientist who discovered the cure!!! Take it from a pair of fellas who have literally had old Fashions from Coast to Coast (West to East) , Border to Border (Mexico to Canada) and many places in between, This Young Man has cracked the code! This place did provide outdoor seating so it was comfortable during the pandemic. We ordered papasway as our appetizer and they had various options for the meat. Not just the basic carne asada, chicken, and pork. They were nice enough to allow us to do half and half with the meat so we chose lengua and cabeza. It was a really delicious dish. We also ordered Birria Ramen, which is really cool. Living in Japan and coming back to enjoy Mexican and Japanese fusion was quiet the experience. The only thing I can recommend for this soup is to provide a flavourful salsa that can be mixed into it since it tasted a bit bland. And also to add more cilantro and onions (or at least provide us with a side to add it in ourselves). Overall, great place.
