This place is delicious! We ordered chicken and beef tacos for our family. Both meat options were flavorful and had great sides! The retried beans are a must. Due to covid they do portion items into containers that would be on their salsa bar and at checkout ask which items you would like. I would give the food five stars, but the customer service would be far less. The lady working the floor was rude when bringing the food and when we asked for the limes and onions we had ordered she slammed the pico de gallo down, huffed, and never brought the other items. She was also handling food to tables and cleaning. It seems given the current pandemic that isn't very sanitary and there should be a separate person cleaning especially during busy lunch times. Other than that we would visit again...but through the drive thru.

Meal for two....cold. Rip off for $28. Mostly fat in sirloin. Cold "grilled" onions. Never again

Absolutely horrible. I knew I should have turned around and walked out when I saw multiple ta Les not cleared and a full trash bag left at one of the booths on top of the table. I know many places are short staffed so I still have it a try. I fully regret my decision. I pad $28 for the meal for two. The meal ended up being the size of a meal for one at any other restaurant in and around El Paso. I added the grilled onion. I waited nearly 20 minutes for my food. That was fine until the food came and was room temperature at best. My meal was not warm/hot. The grilled onions were actually cold. Yes cold, like they were taken for a refrigerator. The onions were grilled at one time. Maybe they forgot to warm up. The sirloin was mostly fat. Barnacle was good. Tortillas were good. Take the time to try another restarting in the area. I'll hate Taco Bell, but would rather eat at that establishment than taco tote. Never again.

I am a Tacotote lover, this is authentic Mexican food and it doesn't get any better. I like the fast food concept but also I do wish they had Margaritas. They have TVs so you may enjoy the soccer game. Their meat is carne asada style (along other styles) and it is delicious, the tortillas are handmade on the spot. I love their salsa bar, and writing about all of this makes me mega hungry so I better stop. They also have quesadillas.

Love this place for delicious tacos and even more delicious salsa bar! I seriously already started having my fill from just eating their slices cucumbers and radishes and dipping them in their guacamole and jalapeño salsa lol. So good! I was trying to use the veggies as an alternative from their all you can eat chips. Pro diet tip lol. Anyway, as for the main course. I finally ventured away from my usual shrimp tacos, which are always amazing and delicious fyi. I wanted to try their adobado chicken. I was worried at first because i soon realized it was different from the regular chicken which was what i was aiming for. They assured me its delicous. And it was!!! I was in taco heaven for sure! Partly the delicious chicken but also because their freshly made corn tortillas are amazing!!! Theyre thicker than the flour ones so its always too much food. But i end up finishing it anyway lol. Charro beans is always what i go for as a side. That is also amazing! Top these things off with onions, cilantro, or their guac salsa, i am hooked! The only problem we have are the fat pieces that they dont seem to both cutting out before they have the appropriate amount of meat for the sirloin tacos. Although delicious, there was quite a good amount of fat chunks we had to take out. That was disappointing. Its not always the case so luckily this place is that good that we are willing to take a chance.

The inside was cute and clean.

We visited on a Monday around 7:00pm. It wasn't busy and I'd say we waited about 15-20 minutes for our to-go order. I honestly didn't have high hopes for this place. The reviews are mixed and upon entrance it's cute, but doesn't look promising. There were some major health concerns going on in the kitchen that made me nervous to eat, but it wasn't our food being handled so I took the risk. The food was better than expected for the most part. Horchata was good, rice was fine, and the tacos (chicken adobada and barbacoa) were good. The refried beans were absolutely horrible. Overall, nothing that makes me want to go back.

Street Plate for 2 More nerves than meat.

My husband and I got there and there was two ladies on the registers and as soon as we approached they went to the back. We waited there for someone to take our order, finally a man (who seemed to be the manager, useless as the rest of the crew) took our order. A Street Plate for two of sirloin. Which was more nerves and waste than meat. It was hard to even enjoy a taco without chewing a disgusting piece of nerve.

Top sirloin tacos on flour tortillas with some fresh tatemada salsa and guacamole is always our top choice every time we visit El Paso!!

Receipt says shrimp, that's chicken ‍

This is the third time they mess up my order, that's not shrimp...that's chicken. Guys, it's not that hard to put the correct meat in a tortilla...especially when you're not busy.

Don't sleep on the Tacotote. Second favorite location in El Paso. It was busy, but isn't that the sign you want?

It was very heavy and very cheesy. There was something super heavy about that I cant describe. The staff was super nice and got us our food and drinks and refilled our salsa n chips often. My friend had the mole item and felt it was way too sweet/cocoa on it. Overall I would've wanted to try the other machaca items and other things. I had just flown in from the airport, and my brother arranged it as a special family gathering. Everything started normally: we were seated, ordered our food, received our drinks, and enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. Then my sister (who is LGBTQ+) stepped away to use the restroom. When she returned and sat down, a manager approached our table and loudly told her--in front of other diners--that "MEN cannot use the female restroom." My sister was mortified and humiliated by the public confrontation. The manager's tone and assumption were shocking and clearly discriminatory. We immediately got up and left without eating. This wasn't about enforcing any legitimate policy; it was rude, insensitive, and targeted. My adult sister is perfectly capable of reading the restroom signs herself--no one needed to police or shame her in such a way. The incident felt rooted in homophobia and transphobia from management. We will never return to this place, and we will actively discourage others--especially LGBTQ+ individuals and allies--from patronizing it. What should have been a joyful family milestone was ruined by bigotry. Avoid this establishment if you value respect and inclusivity.

Unfortunately, that loyalty came to an end after a recent experience that was both disappointing and unacceptable. My family and I chose this restaurant to celebrate a birthday. Every guest paid separately, and there were no issues during the evening itself. However, as the event concluded, multiple attendees, including family members and in-laws, overheard servers making derogatory comments about our party. Among the remarks were that we were "ungrateful," "cheap," and "broke," along with other inappropriate comments that no customer should ever have to hear. I brought the matter to the attention of ownership, hoping for a meaningful resolution. While I was told the employees had been reprimanded, the proposed remedy was a $25 gift card. After nearly 18 years of patronage, the response felt dismissive and only added insult to injury. What disappoints me most is not simply the behavior of the staff, but the lack of accountability and concern shown afterward. This was a place I once considered a reliable and welcoming destination for family gatherings and celebrations. Sadly, that trust has been lost. As a result, I will no longer be returning or recommending this establishment to friends, family, or colleagues. Respect for customers should be a fundamental part of any hospitality business, and in this case, that standard was not met.

Their tacos al pastor con queso are so good. The marinated pork is perfectly seasoned, a little greasy in the best way, and topped with melted cheese. One thing I love is their salsa bar. I always grab the red salsa, green salsa, and guacamole. I pile all three on my tacos, and every bite is amazing. Their tacos remind me of my favorite tacos at the resort my family visited every summer in Cancún. Even though it has been years since I have been there, El Cometa brings those memories back with every bite. The staff is incredible. Last summer, the hostess recognized me right away and seated me immediately. She even remembered my order. I order the exact same thing every visit: tacos and two cans of Sprite. The fact that she has been there since I first started coming in 2019 makes every visit feel like coming home. From 2019 until I moved away in 2022, I went there almost every week. To eat here, everyone lines up at the cashier to place an order, but somehow I always felt like royalty. The staff knew me, and every visit felt welcoming. El Cometa never disappoints. The food is outstanding, the service is excellent, and every visit reminds me why I fell in love with tacos in the first place.
