Tacowa is an unassuming local kind of place with great Korean food and good service. You'll enjoy stopping in.

We came for dinner. There's outside seating where they have the Korean bbq grill or inside seating for regular dining. Servers are nice and attentive. We ordered the kimchi fries ( with bulgogi , kimchi , mangas sauce ) , bulgogi ramen ( perfectly seasoned , with soft egg) , honey chicken( little salty for me). They do have bingsu too. Finally found a new go to Korean bbq restaurant! Great food and experience. We were in the area and decided to try out Tacowa. The indoor seating is a nice however air floor is not great-one of the servers mentioned that there is an acetone smell as it is right next to a mail salon-so we opted for patio seating. Lots of different dishes to order. There were many complimentary small side dishes with kimchi, bean sprouts etc that are provided. The soft tofu appetizer, galbi and spice pork was delicious and surprising the tofu ramen as well. I would definitely recommend coming here for Korean bbq. Staff were very friendly and efficient and we will be having many more meals here! read more

We were at this restaurant about 2 weeks ago on a rainy, dreary night. We had seen the review of this restaurant on "Checks Please", and thought we should try it. There were three for dinner, and we were the only three in the restaurant. The in side ( dining area), was void of any ambience. You can't eat ambience, yet it's always better if it says something to the consumer. We studied the menu, made way too many selections and waited for our food. My first complaint if you will , is that the waitress saw us "struggling" with our selections and never once offered to assist us. She could have said we ordered too much, yet never helped. We asked her if some of these dishes which were written as "spicy", could be lessened somewhat, and her response was no .Ok, the food came quickly, with one selection on top of the previous one, giving none of us a chance to breathe. The food? Well, it wasn't our cup of tea if you will. Nothing stood out warranting a "isn't this great" comment? I've had Korean BBQ ( overseas) during my business trips, and this wasn't it. All in all, it was a night to forget. Sorry to say this, and I wish them success. read more

The Food: 4.5 out of 5 I really enjoyed each of the 3 tacos I got. Each one had its own unique sauce and flavor. The soft tortilla and the ingredients were good, and really complemented the taste of the meat. I also enjoyed eating the fried chicken, which was battered chicken breast that was super tender and juicy. This can be a bit too spicy for some, so may want to ask for a milder sauce or the honey garlic sauce. My recommendations: 1. Bulgogi Taco 2. Korean Fried Chicken with Yangneum sauce (sweet & spicy) 3. Spicy Pork Taco 4. Shrimp Taco The Service: 4.5 out of 5 You order at the counter and get the food brought to the table. Worth the drive! I don't get down to Boca often, but when I do, I can be assured that Tacowa is going to satiate my appetite! Between the kimchi fries, succulent galbi dolsot bibimbap, and fried tteobokki, I couldn't ask for more... except for more room in my stomach. I was craving Udon noddle's, and Asian cuisine in general, so we were planning on trying another place when we found this one. I remember visiting this location once before and it looked different, did they remodel or is it a whole new restaurant? Location Located just outside the heart of Mizer park. Very busy streets and parking is an adventure, especially if you want free parking. Decor Adorable, they have these white high booth toward the back and some outdoor seating with a cover. Menu There is a lot to choose from which can be overwhelming if you are not familiar with these types of food. Everything sounds delicious too. I decided tog o with Bimbimbap stone bowl and my friends went with the BBQ Bulgogi Bibimbap - I think. The food. Mine was delicious and very dry. If it wasn't for the side dishes my friends ordered I wouldn't have liked mine as much. With that said, the Bulgogi Bibimbap they had came with a miso soup that is heaven sent. I've never tasted anything so flavorful! It is a popular dish and I can see why. Price $$ - but worth it for the amount of food you receive. Would I go back? Went in there with a friend of mine. Worst food/service. They don't speak English, The meat for bbw was not marinated nor seasoned and they don't bring any sauce, when we asked for some sauce, they brought one in a tiny plate for the whole table. The rice is hard and old and all the small plates of side dish were tasteless. When we asked for a check, they split the bill in half and added 18% service charge to the each check without asking how we wanted to split the bill. read more

My new obsession! Seriously this was great. I've had Korean food before but my boyfriend never has and he was so impressed by all the flavor profiles. This place is absolutely delicious!!! First off, the woman at the front is so sweet, so informative and so attentive. She was relatable and explained every dish to us and have us great recommendations that we took. One of my favorite spots on the east side of Boca, hands down. I grew up around a Korean family growing up and I still call their sons my brothers till this day. As a kid it was really difficult to fully comprehend and appreciate the cuisine I was around all the time. The fermented veggies and pickled condiments just did not appeal to me at 7 or 8 years of age. But, as we get older and experminet the world opens up. Ok, enough of my childhood and right to Tacowa. When this place first opened I know the focus was on appealing to the masses who might not know a lick about Korean food. The fusion tacos was their calling card and its actually what I ordered the first time I was there. But this place has grown since opening day. They have expanded on the menu to include dishes like the seafood pancake. By the way, that pancake is the bomb. Excellent if your a seafood girl or guy. My go-to is the Bulgogi (beef) or spicy pork Bibimbap. For those that do not know, it is a dish that was originally prepared in Korean cuisine out of necessity because it really is a mish mosh of ingredients. It was a dish eaten in rural areas because of its cheap price to prepare. But, in current times it is recognized as a rice dish, mixing in various vegetables, soy sauce, soybean paste, an egg and different meats. Again, it can have many twists. However I can describe it, there is no doubt that Tacowa does it right. Extremely tasty and filling. I love the Bibimbap here. My second dish I really have an affinity for is the BBQ spicy pork. It is a nice spread of house salad, miso soup, side dishes, white rice, and, of course, the sizzling BBQ pork. The tangy and slightly sweet pork is magical. When it is combined with the fish cake, and of course the kimchi, man you have a good meal. Two people can definitely tackle this dish for sure. I've tried almost everything on the menu and I can definitely say there is not one item that I do not recommend. Maybe it is because there are no Korean restaurants around but Tacowa answers my craving. Would a true Korean BBQ restaurant work in Boca? Not sure, but I am glad Tacowa exists. This is by far my favorite restaurant in Boca Raton, maybe even the entire state of Florida. Everything about this place is great. The service is pretty solid, the food is incredible, and everything I've tried has been fantastic. My go to order is between the spicy pork tacos, the bulgogi tacos, and the spicy pork ramen. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu though. They also have hot plates outside so you can cook yourself. The owner is a cool guy, their prices aren't bad, and the portions are generous. Good food and service, we came in at 5:00 so we were the first people in the door. The food came out quickly and was good. My meal came with the sides a salad and soup so it was a good portion. Their new location is so much larger than their last location, but the only downfall is the crappy parking situation! The food is pretty freaking good. My wife had the bulgogi bibimbap with the stone pot and she loved it. She said the crunchy rice at the bottom of the hot pot was the cherry on top! I had the honey chicken rice bowl which was also very good. Everything has great flavor and tastes delicious. We also had the kimchi fries to start which were the spiciest thing ever, but they were delicious! The service was really good as well, and the server was attentive. I love the KFC and the staff is so friendly service is amazing we try to go every weekend from West Palm Beach. We recommend the bimbimbap and the honey garlic KFC the BEST! What a great find, man this place has great tasting Korean BBQ. Our 2 dishes were delicious, fresh meats and vegetables, the kimchi and their hot sauce were really nice. We both had Bibimbaps, Bulgogi and a Spicy Pork, we thoroughly enjoyed them! The restaurant is on the smaller side and not what you would think of when thinking of your regular kbbq spot. The kbbq comes on individual hot plates instead of them being built into the tables. It was only the two of us so we opted for the bibimbap in hot stone. Everything was delicious! We started with the Tteokbokki appetizer which consisted of rice cakes, fish cakes, fried mondu and a boiled egg in a spicy gochujang sauce. Loved all the difference of textures in there to dip into the spicy sauce. We also got the steamed Mondu but would go with the fried after having it in the tteokbokki. The bibimbap was very fresh with lots of veggies meat and rice in the bowl that you then mix all together with the rice once it's crispy at the bottom from the hot stone. We loved the apps so much we didn't save room for our bowls but are both looking forward to finishing them later tonight. I got the spicy pork version which I did not think was spicy and even ended up putting the gochujang sauce from the app into my bowl. If you like Korean food or are just curious to try I 100% recommend you give this establishment a try. Service was attentive, fast and friendly as well. read more
