Lucky's Texas Red Hots upon entering the server greeted us very friendly. You pick any seat. I had the Italian sausage sandwich with peppers and onions (I asked for no cheese extra onions and peppers) the sandwich had a great flavor not enough peppers and onions for me but very good. The roll was extra fresh and good. My husband had 3 hotdogs with the works, mustard, onions and Texas sauce and fries with Texas sauce on top - he ate it all. Our son had the burger with American cheese and Texas sauce with a side of fries -there was a lot of food- he also ate it all. In our way out our server said thank you and so did the cook. read more

stopped in for a quick lunch, and boy am i glad i did. got a texas hot and cheeseburger (both "up", of course), along with a side of fries. food was excellent! best texas hot sauce in the area, hands down. fries were nice and crispy and pipin' hot, which is just the way i like them. seems like the place is mostly run by two brothers, who offered up plenty of friendly conversation as i ate my lunch at the counter, on a wide range of topics that included everything from mathematics to the upcoming buffalo bills season!? will definitely visit again soon! read more

If you like small, thin sausages inside you, maybe you should skip Ted's Footlong and forego Dog E Style, and instead, maybe you can Get Lucky. Lucky's dogs are probably my least fave of the non-chains in Buffalo. They're similar to Louie's but not as good, however Louie's themselves are not all that amazing either. So that's not saying much. Zorba's and Abbott Hots are probably my fave of this type of dog. I'll have to come back here at some point soon and try it again because it's been awhile since I did, but when I did, I remember not even being able to finish it because it wasn't very appealing. However, it is your quintessential Buffalo dog place, and for tradition alone, and location (right across from the amazing Weichec's bar, in Kaizertown), and the fact that it is family owned and cheap, it does score 3. And if you want to "score a 3" as in inches (hey, it's your life), then definitely come here, and Get Lucky at Lucky's. I dunno if you'll even be able to feel this wiener in your throat though. This is where four stars comes into play--this place is nice, clean, helpful, & the owners are right behind the counter making your food for you. They have that natural, thick Greek accent, so you know that Souvlaki is legit, but it is not the best of the best, in my humble Yelp opinion. However, it was exactly what I wanted and inexpensive for a large group of people. We fed 6 people for $40. A group of my friends decided to order takeout this past lazy Sunday and it was the perfect hangover cure. We got french toast, omelettes, home fries, toast, beef Souvlaki with over-easy eggs, and wonderful customer service. I am glad this place is near where we were staying. You will be surprised by how many different items are on their menu, but this kind of breakfast place, where you get an omelette the size of a keyboard and a seemingly endless pile of potatoes, is my jam. They were helpful on the phone, they gave us sides and sides of jam and ketchup, and helped me carry my bags. It was a wonderful experience to pick up our order. They have a small dining room, but I am sure if you visit at the right time, you will be happy you checked this place out! They have their own private lot for parking across the street. Came in for a relaxing lunch out of the office, and boy do I regret going here. The food was terrible, but even worse, they had Fox News blasting at full volume, making it very hard to even hear the server, let alone my own thoughts. The staff proceeded to loudly talk about how much they love their supreme leader Trump, and wouldn't stop talking about how the countless accusers of Trump and Kavanaugh were "dirty skanks" (I had to censor what they actually said). I've never been more offended by a lunch staff in my life. I will never in a million years go back there, and I discourage any other decent human beings else to avoid this restaurant and staff. read more

Lucky's is known for Texas Hots but I usually went there for breakfast. They're a family owned business for half a century and I love their breakfast which is homemade, good, and cheap. Their home fries are excellent so I'm surprised no one else online seems to notice. I have visited the Clinton St. Buffalo location and especially the Transit Road at Clinton St. location in West Seneca before the building was destroyed by a flood and Lucky's soon after took over the Sunnyside Grill location on the opposite side of the intersection. I like french fries with Texas sauce. Lucky's sauce was the best in town for decades that I know about and very well may still be, it's just that I haven't been there in awhile. When I was in high school and you wanted to dip French fries in sauce, Lucky's was the place to go. read more

Good food for a cheap price. The milkshakes are amazing and I've never been disappointed in anything I've gotten to eat. Can't wait to come back to try some of their breakfast items. Altogether a cute little hidden gem in Kaiser town. read more
