I had a problem with an exterior door about 3 weeks after the warranty had expired. Lynne at Tague went to her distributor and pled my case. I live around the corner and went in with my husband to look at doors. I needed one exterior door and one interior door. I asked if I could speak with a designer as I wanted to get their opinion. I had to make decisions and wanted to keep with the integrity of the home. I was told designers wouldn't know anything about what I was looking for. One associate said he had a lot to do as he was leaving for vacation the next day. When I asked if he had samples of colors he didn't want me to take home the set he had. Then begrudgingly said I could. Then get the samples that customers can take home! When I asked the other rep design questions I was told "I can do anything I want." That's not what I came to a design showroom to hear. It was pretty obvious to us that because I didn't have a larger project they weren't interested in helping us. They were NOT WARM AND FRIENDLY and customer service oriented. Very disappointed. They only sell Marvin doors. Not the only game in town. read more

Needed some lumber for some home renovations I am doing and never knew this place existed. Was able to come in, tell the sales rep what I needed and was able to get out of the door. I was in search of 3 new exterior doors for my home. I went to the Malvern location and Warren happened to be working at that location that day but is typically based out of the Philly office. I had very specific criteria for the doors and previous sales people at Tague were unable to assist. Warren new what modifications could be made to the doors to meet my needs (matching wood brickmould for around the wooden front door, adding grids to two fiberglass doors in specific patterns). He was patient with my questions and requests and ultimately was able to help me specify and order the exact styles I desired and was extremely responsive. My first and only experience was ordering a door. I gave specific style and measurements and confirmed what I thougt was the correct order. However once the door was delivered I was upset to see that the door was incorrect. I spoke with the company and was told, "well that was the order you gave us" and I explained that I gave specific instructions and that I thought it was understood. The sales rep said that he was confused with part of the order however he did not call to question the issue. They refused to fix the problem without charging an additional fee. As far as I am concerned they will never have my business again. Use Liberty or Rider Lumber they are much more professional and value their customers. read more

I have a 200-year-old home that I have been restoring with really unique trims. I went to the Philadelphia location of Tague and gave them a sample (covered in years of paint). They custom milled new boards for me that are a perfect match to the original. The original order I placed was small, and a few other millwork shops either wouldn't take my order or gave me an astronomical price. Tague was excellent with their service, promptness, and quality. I just went back a couple years later for more of the custom trims to finish the rest of my house and they still had the knife on hand and the same great service. This company was highly recommended by a neighbor; however, the neighbor purchased the product from Tague and installed the product himself. I purchased two windows and one of Tague's subcontractors installed the product. The window installation appeared to be haphazard and the details (wood trim) were not good, to say the least. Tague charged an incredible amount of money ($1795.00 for labor of the installation for two windows that were a total cost a total of 740.00 - yes that's right, $1795.00 not including the price of the windows!). This was my first experience with window installation, so unfortunately I was quite naive and didn't realize that this price was substantial). If I received great service and a beautiful installation, I would have been OK with the price. When I expressed my concerns about the installation problems to the sales team at Taugue responded by being abrupt, mean, rude, and they acted as if they could care less about my concerns. Truthfully, I felt somewhat bullied to pay the remainder of the bill. I was very shocked at the way Tague subcontractors those who are not skilled at installation in addition to their incompetent customer service. If you are considering using this company, you may want to think twice. read more

I used Tague recently to re-do my kitchen and I have to say I don't think it is possible to have a better experience. They are quick, helpful, did an amazing job and my husband couldn't be happier. From my knowledge they are in no way limited to kitchen re-modeling so I plan on using them in the future. 100% recommend. read more

Tague was engaged by our general contractor to provide a specialty sliding door product. They are an official dealer for the product and represented that they could handle the order. We made the order over the summer in the July timeframe. We paid a requested $13k installment as requested for the order and expected to pay another $9k once the item was delivered. The expected delivery time was 10 - 12 weeks. It is now mid-December and the product has not been delivered. We have been communicating with Tague over the past 10 weeks. They have assured us that the order was in process and even over the past two weeks told us multiple times that the door would be arriving the next day. After many false promises, I called the manufacturer to find out what was going on. I was shocked to find that Tague had never even placed the order. I am now in a situation where we are into the winter with a 16ft wide hole in the building and no near term way to get the door I expected months ago. Tague has not even apologized or taken accountability for this issue. After taking my $13k check, they did nothing. Tague is a horrible company with no ethics and is not customer focused. There is no way I would work with Tague again. I would caution any customer or contractor working with Tague that they cannot be trusted and you will have to proactively manage them because they are not customer oriented. read more
