Such a great sushi spot! We happened to come upon it because we were craving sushi and wanted to try something we haven't been to before. This did not disappoint! It seems like an AYCE, but it's a-la-carte. The quality of the fish was amazing! Honestly, out of all the rolls, we found the spicy salmon to be the least interesting haha

Ventured out to a new sushi restaurant nearby. The food is excellent and fresh. The variety of rolls and dishes is amazing.. at first you are a little overwhelmed as you are unsure about what to order then you realize that everything looks amazing and you want to eat it all! I ordered for pick up as the restaurant is still closed to dining in with the restrictions and all. My order was ready and nicely packaged when I got there. This is a total difference to other sushi places near by who are extremely unorganized. Over all my food was fantastic and I am excited to go back and try more dishes!

Good sushi. Quick and easy. Got a coupon in the mail and I decided to try it. Sushi was very good. Will have to try another dish next time. Overall 8/10. Great option for the area.

Taiga Japan House opened up just before the pandemic shut-down. I just had the chance to try it for takeout last weekend, The place looks nice, decent in size, typical environment among competitors. The type of packaging is great, good solid containers and everything is packaged okay. In terms of cleanness, the place looked clean, but employees didn't seem like following procedures. There were two visible employees, none of them had any masks or any gloves. Handling everything by bare hands! Quality if food is mediocre, the sushi portions are big and full, but the taste ranks about 6/10. I tried the: Green dragon roll California roll Calamari Tempura shrimp Chicken katsu lunch Edamame (free with meal) Overall, not the best experience, and perhaps will not return again, which is a shame as i've been hoping it'll be good as it's in the neighbourhood.

Very good atmosphere with good service. They try to let you enjoy the food and give space for you and your companies with least distraction. The sushi rolls are cheaper than most sushi restaurants. They have a large variety of different rolls, including hand pressed, torched sushi, regular maki, hand rolls and sashimi. Every single one is impressive. - The tempura rolls are very crispy! The shrimp is very hot so you can tell they're freshly fried! - the cucumber rolls is a must try. I never order something like that but I went with a healthy friend and she ordered this. Very fresh and healthy but doesn't taste fat or full. Love it and it became a "must order" when I come here - love the cups here - most rolls are $5-9, most expensive ones are $12 for 8 pieces. Overall this place is very cheap with high quality sushi. Love this place! 5 out

I had no expectations but I was greatly surprised when I opened the package to see double the portion of food from Ginza sushi (which I also don't recommend for sanitary reasons.) I was quickly disappointed at the first taste of the sushi because it was bland, mushy and had no avocados in it! Only cucumber the flavour was very bland and the fish did not taste fresh at all. Even the miso soup had no taste!!! Practically just water. That was a lot of food for the lunch special but I would never go again. The server was nice and gave us the free roll that comes with $25 order and 10% off for cash.

Love the sushi variation and the speed of service was quick. Definitely will visit again.

I was really looking forward to trying out this new sushi spot. I Uber eats an order from this location. It tasted good but the sushi rolls were cut really big and were hard to eat so It made it less enjoyable. They also didn't provide any utensils which wasn't too big of a deal but didn't feel the same eating sushi with a fork lol. Overall, this place is okay. I do feel like its kind of overpriced for the quality of the food.

Kind of hard to visualize quality in the different sushi/Japanese huts on the net, Uber Eats, etc. Best practice around is to try it! This place is high on the quality scale, the red tuna was beautifully done and extra care put into the garnish, finishes, and even packaging.

They have quite a few special roll options, though most were derivatives of California and Dynamic rolls. Tried the Lion King and Tataki Attack. Both were good with thin rice layers and relatively fresh seaweed wraps. I liked the Lion King better since it had more fillings. Chicken Karaage was so-so, more like pre-made chicken popcorn than authentic karaage. Shrimp Tempura was good - big shrimps wrapped in the thin, light and crispy batter. Service was great, the staff was very considerate - created a bigger space for us and added tea and napkins timely. We were also informed it would take about 20 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 40-45 minutes due to the lunchtime rush. Totally understandable though, and the manager was very apologetic and even gave us a $5 coupon for our next visit along with our box. When the food arrived, the presentation of the tasting box was absolutely WOW.. it was so beautifully done. We were honestly just too hungry at that point to admire it for long. Unfortunately, I noticed the first roll I picked still had cucumber in it, and when we flagged it, the staff immediately looked into it. It turned out there was a miscommunication about the substitution, and most of the rolls in the box had cucumber. The manager personally came over, apologized, explained everything, and immediately took care of it by offering to remake the box without cucumber and providing a full refund, which really went above and beyond. Despite the hiccup, the service and care from the team really stood out. Mistakes happen, especially during busy lunch hours, but the way the team responded made a big difference. I'd definitely come back again.

I ordered the dream platter and aburi Syaki oshi. I wasn't expecting it to be nicely packaged and it was a damn shame we threw them out but I almost felt like I paid for the extra nice packaging only to have it be tossed... but it does make an excellent gift for someone who really loves sushi! I wasn't expecting the gold leaf OR edible flower garnish at all. It was a very cute touch on this very snowy day. The oshi sort of fell apart everytime I picked it up which was a shame because it was nicely charred and sweet from the mango. Bit of a personal peeve but I don't think sushi should fall apart when you pick it up with a chopstick. I think it should stay in tact. Next time I'm gonna order takeout and have it delivered so I can feel like I had a nice package of sushi delivered

The service is incredible here, and the vibe is cool-chic. Just loving the atmosphere here…read more As for the food, don't expect it to be a "traditional Izakaya" here, but that's not a bad thing. They do the "traditional" dishes with a twist / fusion. For example, the black cod is usually feel heavy with the miso based sauce, but they added some acidity to the sauce and they made the black cod taste rich and light (not to mention the black cod was perfectly cooked); traditionally the Brussels Sprouts would be finished by tossing balsamic vinegar over it. Sometimes that would still feel heavy. Instead, they tossed it with strawberry vinaigrette. So the acidity is very light and not too sweet. We finished our meal with the Yokai Signature Maki. Yes, they SHOULD be proud of this Maki enough to put their name on it. They hit it on the nail with the taste profile. I have a zero tolerance with spiciness, so they put the spicy mayo on the side, and I encouraged my wife to dip the Maki with it. She confirmed my suspicion that the spicy mayo took the maki to another level. We definitely will come to try other dishes. Edit: they comped us a slice of Matcha Cheesecake. While it is still not my cup of tea, but I was very impressed with how good it taste. My "dislike" is with cheesecakes because they feel heavy. Though it is still on the heavy side for me, but as soon as I spoon in a bit of the strawberry sauce, it just lightened up the whole thing. They have successfully amazed me with how well they play with taste.

There were some Ramune Drinks listed on 8x11s taped to the walls as long as another that listed a Sushi & Sashimi Lunch and a Lady Lunch. The Maki's posted seem to be quite Canadian in nature such as Crispy Maki, Silver Roll and Snowman. I hear the staff speak Chinese quite a bit between themselves which is no surprise at all within the Vaughan Japanese restaurant scene. Chicken Udon(Lunch Special $6.99) was nothing exciting to speak of. 3 ingredients in total consisting of some low quality Udon, Teppan fried Dark Meat Chicken and a Broth with a touch of sweetness. Sashimi Appetizer($6.99) didn't look appetizing but I have to say at least it was of decent portion quatity the size of 2 Sashimi pieces(2-bite). Looks can show how obvious the Sashimi was not cut with skill hands while the Fish especially Tuna didn't seem fresh and most surprising neither was the Pickled Ginger.
