Really good beer and surprisingly good pizza. Perched atop a gorgeous hill overlooking beautiful scenery, the parking lot is worth the drive alone! I have been here twice now and plan to go back again next time I am in the area. Tailgate has a broad selection of beers to meet everyone's taste. Interesting flavor combos and I enjoy flights to try a few. This is a brewery that you can visit based on the food too. Their menu is mostly pizza based, but there are tons of options to choose from. Would probably pass on this place if you're looking to get both food and drinks. Beer was alright. They had a large selection-although the stout my boyfriend ordered was pretty mild. We ordered the rueben and the Cuban sandwiches, which were both essentially very overpriced lunch meat sandwiches. The pickles that came with the sandwiches tasted way off-almost chemical like, so we didn't eat them. One plus was we did enjoy the outdoor patio out front. read more

Great beer, friendly staff, and good times. The layout of the building is the only complaint I can make. You can't see the bar when you come in, they make you wait in anticipation to see what treasure lurks behind the corner! The staff know their beer and can make excellent recommendations when you're not sure what you like, the food is hot and delivered quickly, and the trivia day seems like a great time. We went on half priced pizza Wednesday, so naturally they were very busy but took 30+ minutes to get our pizzas. I really loved the lasagna pizza, it was super tasty. Next time we know to keep a very closer eye on the counter where they put pizzas that are ready. Tailgate has been one of our favorite places in Nashville and it's a fun brewery to visit. This location is the original (they have additional locations in East Nashville and downtown) and there's tons of parking here. The taproom is spacious and they have a large outdoor location, which is great for COVID right now. They make many different styles of beer here from IPAs to sours to stouts and they're pretty good overall. They've been expanding their sour line recently and their IPAs have been getting better as well. They will let you try any of their draft beers, which is great. The pizza here is even better than the beer and the pesto pizza is one of our favorites in the whole city. It's a fantastic pie and it's just as good warmed up the next day as well. The chicken on it was Nashville hot and it was sprinkled with pickles -- which actually worked. The beer is always excellent. The view from the seating outside is great during sunset, but the patio is always great. It's amazing that they have indoor ane outdoor space, so anyone can fine a comfortable spot for them. I do generally enjoy their beer and used to enjoy their pizza. i would not recommend their current pretzel offering, and the other apps i've tried didnt knock me out of the park. They also did at some point in the last few months remove mine and my friends favorite pizza, the motivator for us to pick tailgate again and again, their caprese pizza. this is the only pizza i have bought there in the last two years or so, and because of that i genuinely can't say if i would recommend their pizzas anymore. overall i would definitely recommend a trip if you're wanting to try their beer! read more

Tailgate is our go-to spot for craft beer! Their beer menu is always rotating with some of the most unique flavors! We love coming back and seeing what new beers they have on tap! I highly recommend a flight (or two) to just try some of their new brews! It makes it a beer drinking experience vs. just drinking a beer... also still amazing! If you're eating there, the pizza and garlic knockers are out of this world!! Highly recommend. I don't love sitting inside their brewery as much as their incredible patio... we always opt to sit outside when we can!! It's the perfect spot to view the sunset and they have picnic tables everywhere (and bulb string lights) #vibes! On Fridays in the summer, they do a projector movie night! Bring your own chairs if you can (limited seating usually busy!) They also host fitness Barre Roots classes at the brewery, too! So much to do there!!! Went here for the first time on Sunday. Disappointed in the service. The process to wait in line to order a beverage is fine.. but then having to wait in the line again just to cash out seems poor. Since this was our first time, my husband went up to the bar and asked to cash out and the pourer/tender rudely said " can't you see I have to get all of these people in line"... he was only inquiring and her response was unacceptable. she wouldn't provide her name to us when we asked and was VERY rude, said she was not comfortable giving her name. I was in the service industry for years wearing a name tag... ridiculous response in my opinion! Had only visited the music row location for Yelp Elite event a few years back but stopped by here with some friends today after an exhausting and hot 9 mile kayak trip on the Harpeth with Foggy Bottom. I'll focus on the pizza since I didn't partake of any adult beverages. A friend & I split a taco pizza & a Mac n cheese pizza. The taco pizza might be the best all around flavor pizza I've had in Nashville. The spicy ranch & crispy tortilla strips really just pop in your mouth. The Mac & cheese pizza while visually stunning was comparatively bland compared to the taco pizza. When I come back I'll get the taco pizza again because it was so damn good.
