We have been going to Tailgator's for years. The service has gotten worse. We waited almost an hour at our table before the waitress arrived. She took our drink order and we eventually had to go track someone down to ask for another person to wait on us. Then that person disappeared and never came back. It was not crowded either. Many open tables. We understand when servers don't show up or there are occasional issues but this is happening too much here. And no manager to be found to apologize. Went for the first time last week and loved the atmosphere and dimmer lighting - super laid back and relaxing. One side is casual dining with a full service bar and booths, tables and pub style tables with plenty of tv's. Next door there's a 21 and over bar. The servers are mostly young girls. Ours was super friendly, though some walked around with a hell of a pout going on. Between servers, managers and bussers we felt well taken care of. Drinks - Had the best grey goose dirty martini for $7, husband's Jameson's were $6. So the drinks were excellent and a great price Food - fajita nachos were just ok. Ratio of toppings to chips was way off. Boudin bites were pretty good and we enjoyed the remoulade. Other tables had fried dishes and pastas and they looked good. Crawfish - ok, so we came specifically for the crawfish and they were kind of a mess. The shells were super hard, they were difficult to peel and they were pretty under seasoned. I find a lot of the crawfish in TX have exceptionally hard shells and that just ruins it for me because thy don't seem to hold any juice or flavor. And not that I needed it, but the 'drawn butter' it came with was cold and congealed. Not sure what the heck it was ... We'll be back bc of the excellent drinks and good atmosphere. So usually I like tailgators. I have always enjoyed their food. This time, however, there were some very drunk and rowdy older (40+) women who were a little out of hand. Been to the restaurant weekly (and sometimes more) for near 2 years. 98% of the time service is great (learn what 2 girls not to let wait on me...one is gone). The few times there was something wrong with my food it was taken care of. If you do not have kids and care not to be bothered by other people's kids DO NOT sit at the high top tables near the games. I am done with raising mine and care not putting up with other's (that care not what their kids are doing while they talk). The regular side is awesome. The bar side...you're not welcome unless you're friends with the crew. Service is sketch at best. The manager sits at his friends table and hangs out all night not making sure customers are taken care of. They have business. It's busy. But don't forget about the people who pay to visit your establishment. It's more than the bikers and regulars. Everyone should be treated the same and that's absolutely not the case. Food is pretty good. Service is horrible only for the reason they don't care if you're not a biker or a reg. Management here is a joke. If I were ownership I'd really look into who is actually working for me. I've been a regular for 7 years but still don't have the status to be treated with respect and some sense of urgency. My husband and I have been regulars of Tailgator's for the last 2 years. The food is good, service has always been good and like the atmosphere, but tonight we were not so happy with the place. A football game was on and OMG it was way too loud... We are not prudes , like our music loud at times but hey , this isn't a rock concert. This is a restaurant/ bar and people like to converse with friends etc.. Yes ,its a sports bar but the game should be in the BACKGROUND, NOT THE FOREGROUND... Staff are friendly and non smoking bar option is great for families. Food is on point and great variety. Don't confuse this TG's to Bar 242 it's head and shoulders better both in quality and service. I visited Tailgator's two days ago. I have had some trials recently but decided to spend some of the limited funds I have left to have a nice night out. Living in my car has been a bit daunting. I took a seat at the bar and splurged on a nice martini and ordered the Boudin balls. Good drink and eats, but that is where this goes awry. The total bill was a modest $17 and change. I was feeling happy for these last few weeks and tipped the service another $17. Stupid I know. I went today to put $10 in gas for my car (home) right now. It was declined due do the fact that Tailgators had processed the amount at $74.00! I went by Tailgators today to ask management to correct this issue. I was told that without an exact date and the last four digits of my card there was nothing they could do. "Everything is processing" This could take up to four days! Crawfish was way to spicy so it covers the flavor. The crawfish étouffée was yummy - less spice than at the Flying Pug which I appreciated. The Gouda in balls were good just very small. Based on our experience it was average and would probably not return as it's not close to us and the spice level of the crawfish. The wait staff however was friendly and prompt. read more

We recently moved to Texas and Saturday was actually our first time visiting Tailgators, off recommendation from people we've met locally. We chose to sit on the bar side and were pleasantly surprised by how "normal" it felt, as we've been looking for a place to just relax, listen to music, watch a game, and have some drinks. Everything was going well, we even met other locals sitting at the bar which made it easier to feel comfortable in a new environment. The patrons next to us were a group of 5 (noting this for the issue). Our bartenders were Luther & Matt and they both did an excellent job at answering questions about the menu & serving. At some point another waitress came into the picture as well as another gentlemen who had been behind the bar but not active with customers in the area so I do not know his name but would know him if I saw him. For some reason... the girl who came on chose to skip music on the jukebox, which at minimum included $5 worth of the people next to us & I had used half of my credits purchased (approx $12). When the gentlemen down from us asked the new female server why, she told him "I don't like techno music", which is fine... but it had skipped all of ours as well. She told him he could have his $5 back... but the other guy who was behind the bar now gave him $1 in quarters and very condescendingly said "You're cut off" to him. This guy had, admittedly, been drinking for a few hours but was NOT disruptive in any way until this happened. He asked to speak to the manager, whom I also met... Grant. Grant gave him back his $5 and told him he had to leave because he could "smell alcohol on his breath"... I asked why the music was skipped and he said "We don't allow techno", I let him know my music was skipped too & he said it must be something you didn't allow either, what was it... I told him "country & classic rock" (again, we had never met the other party so there was absolutely no connection with the music choices), he said "I don't know then", my husband then asked why he was being thrown out & Grant again said "I can smell alcohol on his breath", my husband said "can't you smell it on all our breath?" Grant said "No. I know he's drunk because he just paid his bill of $140" ok.... Now this is where I want to remind you how many people he was sitting with. He bought several drinks for most of them just in the time we were there, and he was also eating when we first arrived... that's not an insane bill. I was with my husband & nephew, all 3 of us had drinks and we also ordered food (which was immediately changed to go) and our bill was $100. I said to Grant, who was standing directly beside me, "he was buying drinks for others... we've been sitting here, I'm not drunk... I'm telling you what happened & it's not right" He said "I know you're not drunk but he needs to go." I understand this guy may have a history or some reason they felt the need to handle it this way but it really struck a nerve with us... especially considering the same thing happened to us with the music situation. The guy was not being disruptive or angry, and it was refreshing to see people having fun with the way the world is... I just wanted someone higher up to get involved. Our food was good but I do wish we could've ate there and stayed for our night out but we couldn't see staying somewhere to support a company that treated another customer that way. read more

We came to watch the Rocket's game. There are screens everywhere and that is very helpful so you don't have to worry about getting a good table. We ordered Queso & Salsa to start, both tasted great. Just FYI Queso is white cheese, very good though. The crawfish was yum, nothing too flavorful or hot, but good. The corn it comes with is not so delicious. The andouille sausage plate is pretty good, and with added pepper and Lousiana the red beans are pretty good too. We were there to eat crawfish and drink beer. Probably was going to spend $500. The hostesses sat parties of 4-6 people for over 30 minutes and continued to seat parties as they came in. We waited for almost an hour and no one was waiting but us. Terrible consideration on the hostesses part. I'm here to let the manager know his girls cost them $500 on their carelessness.
