One stop shop for all your reptile needs. The staff is very knowledgeable on what you may be looking for or if your pets need. I go here for the dogs food lowest value for the highest protein value! My dogs cannot eat it fast enough. (That and the fresh cooked shredded chicken). My 14 year old dog loves this food and he's the biggest most pickiest eater. I have 3 lizards and each one just as sassy and bad at what they each like. I've learned a lot from just trying new things. Great selection of products and animals in store. I even get my feeders here for all my lizards. From live feeding to dry feeding they sure have everything. And if you're not sure what to get just ask. The manager is truly very open to helping you find what's best and works for you. We only go here for our pet needs. Went to check this place out for the first time and left disappointed. I had a question and approached a young staff member for help. He acted like I was a huge inconvenience. Instead of greeting me or even saying how can I help , he just looked at me and then turned around. It made me feel unwelcome. I attempted to go into this place unbiased after checking out various negative reviews, but upon my arrival I was a bit thrown off. The variety of animals seem to be good, as it ranges from birds, fish, reptiles, to chicks, etc. But as a reptile owner myself, I was starting to see issues and grew more concerned to come across the tropical geckos as they seemingly had No humidity control. It is not to mention I had passed by in the evening with the dry hot 90 degree weather. I am no professional but I would like to imply, human to human, we ourselves feel suffocated in such climates and one of the most important things is to drink water, so why can we not provide it in a controlled manner to these animals? Nevertheless tropical ones. It is absurd and not difficult to acknowledge that water is vital to them. Before I am also told that the water most likely had evaporated from the tanks, I would like to state that if not all- Most enclosures looked bone dry. These tropical animals require controlled humidity. Whether it would be a larger flat plate of water, a dripper, or a mister. But it seems that such a store housing many animals can't afford- or negligently won't dedicate time to setting apropriate habitats. As I had also seen in other reviews, the water dishes were dirty if not filthy. I suppose I can't complain hence the other animals had none to begin with. I also understand that the reptiles in small plastic containers- in the display case is "what they use in reptile expo" but again, in my opinion It is not known how often they are taken out to "rotate" and get basic needs. The bearded dragons were beautiful, and I did ask whether the two being housed together were in attempts to mate (they were). Though the other in the front, was stressed while being in what appears to be a low-top 20 gallon. It is also to mention, despite the bad reviews on the fish tanks, they were seemingly clean and well. I am writing this review mainly in concern and to constructively criticize that If you are to run an exotic store, to please do so with proper care for these animals. If it is possible to accept this many animals, please house them properly as they are living beings. We should not find easy profit off of providing the minimum to nature. read more

The staff makes me feel like family everyone is very knowledgeable, and is always willing to answer any of my questions. I love reptiles and so do they every pet I've gotten here has been healthy and happy. Im always excited to see what has come into the shop you never know what will come in!and I love that. Literally, one of the worst pet shops I've ever seen in my entire life. All of the reptiles are in horrible care, from what I could see there was no humidity control no heat control. No nothing just big ass snakes in tiny boxes. I saw what seemed to be 10 to 17 foot python that was in a 5-7 foot long enclosure. Their reptiles seem to be very unhealthy and unenergetic even the ones that aren't nocturnal because I'm taking that to account for. Whatever you do do not go to this business . read more

Super disappointed. I like to support Mom and Pop pet stores so I drove over an hour to get a purple pink toe tarantula that they said that I had when I called. I grabbed the tarantula as soon as I got there. I looked up and saw a dead jumping spider in an enclosure and called attention to it so they could remove it and they told me it was probably just molting. I have seven jumpers, they don't lay on their back on the bottom of the enclosure to molt in a death curl. Things happen but if you're going to sell animals, have knowledge of them. I've been proceeded to pay for the tarantula which I could not see because there was a lot of webbing in the enclosure. And it was opaque not clear. When I got home, the enclosure stunk, and I realized it was covered in mold. The webbing had mold on it the water dish had a moldy paper towel stuck inside of it and it was as dry as a bone and it was covered by months of web so I have no idea how that spider got any water. The wood inside the enclosure had mold and then when I rehomed the tarantula into a decent, clean enclosure, it was just a standard pink toe and not a purple pink toe. So to say I was angry is an understatement. I overpaid by at least $50 because it was incorrectly identified. read more

We were coming from out of town and they went out of their way to help us. We were looking for a bearded dragon and the guy there (I think the owner) answered all our questions about care and personality of the different ones they had. We were deciding on a lot of different things and he was patient and very helpful/knowledgeable. I had been there once before, over a year ago, to get a pet rat for my daughter. Her rat is still healthy but gets bored so we got her a buddy (on this trip as well). The two rats are getting along great. I remember last year it was somewhat disorganized, but when we went a couple days ago it was really clean & organized. The animals looked well taken care of. Our new beardie & rat are super sweet. Alright, I didn't want to do this but maybe if enough people complain some much needed changes will occur. The two employees working here are very kind whenever I have interacted with them, Ron the owner is not and is immediately off putting in text, phone, and in person. It sucks because I want to love this store as it's close and I work with exotic animals myself. I'm someone who wants to be friends with people, I love people and I love animals, and the last thing I want to do is hurt someone's business by leaving a bad review. But the issues with this place there is no excuse for. All they need to do is keep the animals CLEAN and healthy, and be POLITE and be RESPECTFUL to customers. The animals and customers are what keep your doors open, DO BETTER! This review is based off my experience online, on the phone, and being in the store several years ago myself, as well as the experience of a family member who dropped off some branches for me today that I sold to the store. I politely called the owner out on unfriendly vibes I got on the phone (I like giving the benefit of a doubt), and the response I got is that Fridays are busy. No apology of any kind, just a flat excuse. 0 people skills, 0 common respect. I don't care how busy someone is, you shouldn't be rude to someone doing business with you who's been very polite, accommodating, and has also been a customer in the past and is a potential continued customer. My father said the place stunk really bad and the cages looked dirty. Being 38 years old and someone who has cared for many animals my entire life, I currently care for 19 geckos (with 5 eggs incubating), a tarantula, and three species of isopods as well as a dubia roach colony that I keep in my small bedroom, and there is NO smell in here whatsoever because I take proper care of my animals and their enclosures. I used to own some snakes, and snakes are very stinky, but my room still didn't smell because I cleaned. There is no excuse, and judging by the other reviews this place seems to always stink (and I remember it smelling years ago too!). My father came in the door today to pass me the funds and the first thing he said was "Man that guy was rude!". He said Ron had his back turned the whole time speaking to another person (not a customer), and only glanced over his shoulder at him and handed the cash over for the logs we sold them. He didn't even turn around to give my dad the money, he put it over his shoulder while glancing, giving it to an employee to hand my dad. Like some freaking crime boss, no humility. No greeting, no "thank you" of any kind...and I sold these logs to him CHEAP after taking the time fully cleaning them myself, AND we delivered them, we're a good 20 minutes away. Plus my dad is an older man, show some respect. I guess some people just hate their own species and only like animals? But that wouldn't explain the animals living in filth. If you work with the public and animals, treat them right, it's not rocket science. This was also not an "off" day, as I have been there myself before and experienced the same issues more than once; Bad smell, dirty cages, sad looking animals, rude owner. Now I remember why we haven't gone back over the years, not until I wanted to sell these stupid logs which I now somewhat regret doing because it contributed to a BAD business. This place seriously needs a new owner, it really doesn't need to be how it is. Hopefully someday they clean up their act so the animals have better lives and the ownership gets swapped out with someone friendly, or Ron has a change of heart. If he hates his business so much he should sell it to someone who will properly run things. We will not be doing business with them ever again, nor will we recommend this store. The only thing worse than the smell of this place is the service. To say that both are the worst does not begin to describe it. We have been here a couple of times to get worms for a bearded dragon and we had a bad experience the first time but decided to give it another shot because everyone has an "off day". Well looks like off days are the norm here. Let's start with the smell. Imagine walking into a port-o-potty in Las Vegas in mid July. I get that animals smell but I also get that knowing this, as a business owner, you should be prepared and clean/deodorize accordingly. Now on to the service. The first time we came in, the man at the counter didn't greet us or acknowledge us when we came to pay. I thought, "Well maybe he's having a bad day". Lord knows I have those. Then next time we went he was having a full conversation with someone and couldn't be bothered to acknowledge us more than just to give us a total price. Now I'm not looking for a conversation but a simple hello and thanks for your business or even a have a nice day would go a long way. I'd love to continue to support local business but it definitely won't be this one. STEER CLEAR and find another local option. read more

I would rate this place 0 stars if I could. The store always smells and the fish tanks are disgusting. They store their spiders and snakes in small plastic containers. This is the second time I've gone and been completely ignored by staff. Today I was the only customer in the store and the guy working behind the counter barely acknowledged me and couldn't be bothered to get off his cell phone long enough to assist me. About a few months ago I purchased a ball python it had eggs of mites brought it home my other snakes got them I never had them before my others snakes I have had for 2 years this one I paid 400 for died after 2 months and I reached out to the owner he did nothing. A friend of mine and I both bought guinea pigs here as well for our kids hers died first after 3 months so did mine. She had a friend buy a ball python and it died. Really poor customer service here, no greeting, they charge you almost 4% for paying with credit card, and the gay there seems bored and unhappy to be there. The first time we came in to this pet shop, all we were looking for was tortoises and there were so many exotic pets to look at. Before I came into this place I read the reviews online and most of them are wrong, if it's a pet shop it shouldn't smell perfect it's a tiny little store and they have so many different animals. That are cared for and have perfect amount of space for their species, we were going to buy a red for the tortoise but we had a trip planned and we didn't want to buy the tortoise before we went on the trip, so they were so nice and let us buy the tortoise but they would hold it over for us until we got back from our trip. read more

Let's start with I really wanted to love this place i've seen advertisement and I follow them on Instagram but when I came to this place yesterday and the first thing I was greeted with which was a horrible smell but then I seen large fish and turtles at the front door so that could have been it. I originally came to the shop looking for guppy fish besides a fish I also want to look around and see what this pet shop had to offer since I have never been there before, and I yes they have beautiful animals but I feel like the shop could have been cleaner a lot cleaner. Things felt cluttered and disorganized. If a snake got out good luck trying to find it. This shop really made me sad. The entire place was filthy and the enclosures looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. You could barely see the animals inside the tanks as the glass was so filthy. The worst for me was they had an emerald tree boa who was laying on the ground with stuck shed. These are arboreal snakes and hardly ever move from a branch and they need high humidity, which was clearly not in the tank. It was dry to the bone. I was in the shop with my parents for 15 minutes and no one even acknowledged us. I was looking to purchase a new tank and some feeder rats but after seeing the state of this place and being ignored, we left. I felt horrible for the animals here as they had no enrichment in their tanks and it just looked like a sad existence. Do better you guys. These are living creatures. read more

I got a snake about a year ago, new realm of pet for me but I was stoked. This place is dope cause it's a once stop shop as far as snake needs come. The guy working there is always prepared with knowledge on how to make your pets comfortable etc. Once the winter hit my snake stopped eating for a minute and the owner saw me struggle for so long (it was a game of buy a rat, return it, repeat) he offered to TAKE IN my snake to see if he could get her to eat HE DID. It's not the biggest store but it has everything you need for great prices and the owner is knowledgeable to say the least. Not to mention the rats I get are always nice and juicy! read more

Awful place to shop. I went in and specifically asked for a specific snake, the wife clearly understood. So I went out and bought near $250 of equipment to be ready, go to the store, and they say they cant sell it. Truth or not, the reasoning was it was a snake with sentimental value. Even tho is was housed with other snakes for sale. The husband was there the second time, both of them covered in Doritos (are you kidding me?), And from the look in his eyes, knew his wife messed up. I love coming here. So many exotic animals, things I've never even heard of or seen. The owner is a really nice guy as well, full of information and facts on all the animals he has. I've been coming here for about a year and I've never once seen any animal in neglect or smelled anything "horrible." Its a pet shop full of animals so i'm not sure why people are expecting it to smell like daisies. I was very hesitant to go in here with my boyfriend due to the negative reviews here. But we decided to see if our experience was different from everyone else's and it definitely was. We were helped by the owner of the store, I believe and he had a lot of knowledge on his reptiles, you just have to go up to him and ask him questions. Walking around the store doesn't show them you're serious about buying anything, start a conversation and he will help you right away. Not to mention, the healthiness of my new baby pastel ball python is perfect. The selection of ball python morphs blew my mind. What you see in the store is not all they have, ask questions and be proactive in getting YOUR new pet! Pros: Selection of animals is great. Ability to special order products. Prices are reasonable. Cons: This place is filthy. I understand it's a petstore, but it is disgusting. The upkeep of habitats is subpar at best. Minimal standard to survive seems to be the goal for all habitats. The housing of some of the animals is ridiculous. 3 rabbits in a guinea pig sized cage. They literally had no room to turn around (not to mention sitting in their own fecal matter.) Cohabitation cages of guinea pigs and rabbits, and again, no room to move. Crowded habitats of reptiles as well. Saw many toe nips and tail nips at one point in the bearded dragon cages. The store is over-crowded and there's no "flow". No room to walk, literally bumping into each other (or one of the people just hanging out) while trying to navigate the store. Prices advertised change once getting in the store. A friend was advertised a snake at one orice and told another in store because of the snake "ate and shed" it was $30 more. He would have had no problem paying, as the snake is beautiful and we love the little guy, but it's the fact that they are advertised to reel people in. Customer service seems to be lacking as well. A woman tried to pressure me into making a purchase because the store was behind in sales. Imo, it was unprofessional to express the monetary situation and to try to use it as a guilt trip/ ploy to get me to purchase an item. Would love to see this place succeed as I'm a supporter of mom & pop shops, but this place needs to see some changes. If it could be cleaned up, organized, and the people a little more professional, it would be a great shop and I'd definitely make it a regular stop for me. I'd lend a hand to clean it up, but they seem to get defensive at the slightest mention of its condition. read more

We actually just walked out of this.. we went in with the Intension to buy several fish. The fact that no one offered to help us didn't bother us until once we where in the middle of getting helped the employee walked away without asking if we needed anything else which we actually did. All of a sudden we where being given a total by someone else ? Confused we asked for one of the other fish we wanted... as we waited it got very uncomfortable quickly so in effort to not be rude my husband suggested we would come back. Customer service is non existent at this shop.. we are all about supporting small business and expect to pay a little higher prices at these places because we know the cost of owning the business is high and we don't mind.. but this is definitely not one we will be going back to. It was very disappointing. I've been coming to this place for two years. It was the only place I could find rats for my snake. The store has always been filthy and smelly. The staff especially the owner has always been rude, never acknowledges me when I'm at the counter. The other day I bought a rat from them. They didn't have any paper bags so they put in in a plastic container. Needless to say by the time I got home the rat had overheated and died. I called and asked if I could come back tomorrow and get another one. I don't live that close to the store. He got all combative saying I need to bring it in not to get another one because he could feed it to one of his snakes. Which was bs because when I got there he didn't feed the rat to anything. The owner of this shop is a rude ah and told me he can be that way because he is the owner. I will never come to this place again. I never left the animal in the car. It was stupid for it to be put in that container. And your pet shop does suck. read more

This was the filthiest nastiest animal/reptile shop I've ever been in. The stench was so nasty I couldn't even get to the back desk before holding my nose and quickly walking out. The turtle & snake aquariums were green with algae and full of flies. I feel this place is a health risk not only for the animals/reptiles but also for any prospective buyer coming in the door. The place was outrageously nasty and the L A Health Department and /or ASPCA needs to step in and make the owner(s) clean it up. read more
