Been going here for a few years and the food was good before the remodel. After the remodel, the food is now very good. We really liked the orange chicken and mongolian beef. Do not judge the pictures on the menu for what the food looks like, the food comes out better than the pictures. Everything was really good. The won won soup had great veggies. Leftovers were great the next day. There is also a bunch of new stuff inside. New fish tank, new television, new local paintings, and a new atmosphere all together. Yesterday I stopped in around 430 or 5 PM. I was surprised that it was not busy given the good reviews. I ordered potstickers and chow fun to go. The nice lady at the cash register offered me water or tea while I waited. I declined, and she pressed again in a friendly way, so I had a cup of green tea. It was not too long of a wait, and I finished my tea right when the to go containers were ready. The potstickers were large and delicious, especially with their dipping sauce that has a very slight bit of spice to it. The chow fun was also good. I love the wide flat noodles. The food stayed hot in my car for like a half an hour and it still tasted great. I will be back! read more

First thoughts- They have a large TV outside with the menu items so you don't have to be crowded inside, the restaurant itself was very clean, there were a few boxes laying around because I believe they just got a delivery, and their fish tank had very green water and a little off putting because it was the first thing you saw when you walked in, the tables didn't have much space between them but they sat us on opposite ends of another family that was eating, there was no music but the TV was playing some kids game show(I assume the server was watching it) The food- Eggdrop soup and fried rice were spiced heavily normally I have to add a lot of pepper, but the soup came out exactly the way I like it, be warned that most people will not like how peppery this soup is All the food was delicious excellently cooked and delicious, my girlfriend didn't like the fried rice but all the other food was perfect to her, I enjoyed everything and I would highly recommend the food ! I ordered the daily special with chicken curry and my girlfriend ordered the chef combo Upon closer inspection- This is a hidden gem and very delicious, I probably won't eat inside again but I definitely will come for take out! Anyone who reads this should get food from here, the food is out of this world, and with a little cleanup I'm sure that dine-in experience will be just as good as the food, it's still the best Chinese food I've had in years, hopefully next time I can give this place a 5-star review read more

The place has to be really bad for me to give 1 star. If I could, I'd give it zero, it's that bad! First a little background. My wife is Taiwanese and I've been married to her for 43 years. I've spent much time in Taiwan and I know what Taiwanese food is...this is NOT that. The menu is laced with American/Chinese food that you can get at any typical American Chinese Restaurant. I ordered Chicken Curry (which is not Taiwanese food) as it was the only thing that I normally like. It was the WORST tasting food I've ever received at a restaurant. It had chucks of green pepper, onion, and chicken that tasted like it was boiled, not stir-fryed. I think they just added the ingredients to a pot of water, boiled it and added some curry powder and called it Curry Chicken. It was supposed to be spicy...nope, not spicy at all. Usually if I have a bad experience at a restaurant, most of the time I give it another shot...not this time. I have no desire to patronize this establishment ever again. This is not a negative but, just to let people know. When we went for dinner, we were expecting a restaurant with wait service and to order family style like the other Chinese/Asian restaurants that we're used to. Here you order and pick up at the counter. Your food is in styrofoam takeout containers and they have a good size seating area with about 8-10 tables if you want to eat there. The owners and workers were very nice and friendly to us and all their customers who came in. They seem to have a lot of regulars too. Which to me says something about the service and food. Now to the food. We ordered a bunch of different food including the Orange Chicken, Beef Broccoli, Sweet Sour Shrimp, and Roast Duck. I liked the Beef Broccoli the best and my family just loves their Roast Duck. In fact they ordered it for takeout a few times since we've been there. Overall the food was about a 3.75 with some stuff being really good and others were ok and if your judging here with other Asian takeout places, I'd say they're above average. The all day special came with a cup of soup, an egg roll, the dish, and rice. I could tell that the ingredients were really fresh. I tend to eat here a lot more in the colder months for some reason, maybe because I'm lazier and don't want to cook. Anyways this place never disappoints me. They are always consistent. All the meals I have tried are satisfying and I usually have a bit of leftover to take home. The price is good too. You can eat in, but honestly I prefer the takeout. Yes you order and pick up at the counter, and the tables are like fast food restaurant tables, but there's an actual menu you take to your table. My girlfriend used to live in an apartment complex really close to this restaurant, and we would eat here all the time. After she moved I rarely visited that part of the city, but when I do, I always stop here! Call me basic, but I am a General's Chicken lover all the way. I recently read a story in the local news that the owner is dealing with some health issues and wanting to retire so I decided to drop by and try their food. I was glad I did. I will be sad when they close. On my visit I ordered the Generals Chicken special, the Fried Shrimp and the Chicken Chow Mein. Each was more delicious than the last. The wait time was a bit long due to the level of calls for to-go orders, but it was worth it. Especially at the very reasonable prices they charge. It's a family owned shop and the lady was super sweet. I came here around lunch time and found their lunch special to be reasonably priced. Most of the items listed were more American Chinese food and not Taiwanese food. I've been to Taiwan and have been searching for a restaurant that comes close to what I experienced. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken special. First came out the flower egg drop soup. Took a sip and was pleasantly surprised of how tasteful it was. Best so far I've had with all the carrots and peas. Then came the main dish which was underwhelming for me. The rice was a but dry and the sauce lacked flavor. The portion seemed reasonable at first until I bit into it and it's mostly just breaded. Due to excellent service, I will come back again to try it out. The mapo tofu sauce was sweet which is a first for me. The mushroom chicken was just pretty disappointing. The general Tso's chicken was smothered in sauce but the only decent tasting entree. The egg drop soup was the only thing I enjoyed during my meal here. If you're looking for authentic Taiwanese food then this is not the place for you. I used to live in Southern California's San Gabriel Valley 626 area (for about 10 years in fact), so I know my way around Chinese food pretty well. Everyone in Southern Cali knows that the SGV is where it's at for LEGIT Taiwanese food. This being said, since I've experienced some of the best, I had to quickly throw those experiences out the window when grading Taiwan Restaurant. The sign on the window says "The Best Chinese Food in Town." Umm... really? What I will say is that it's pretty good for the price you pay... and sometimes, that's just good enough. Less than $6 for the All day Menu, which includes some fried wontons, an egg roll, and a choice of hot&sour or egg drop soup. Items we ordered on the $6 menu: Eggplant (VERY GOOD. I'd definitely recommend this) Mongolian Beef (It's kinda hard to mess this up, so of course it was good) Pepper Beef (This was good, but I prefer the Mongolian beef) We also ordered the Tomato Beef Chow Mein. Tomato Beef is one of my FAVORITE Taiwanese food STAPLES. Sad to say, I didn't think the Tomato Beef here was very good. Kinda dry. Not enough sauce/flavor. The portion was pretty good though (big). SUMMARY: Good place to go if you wanna get Chinese food for less than $6, and you don't want to eat Americanized Chinese-food-for-white-people (aka. Panda Express). What the actual f*ck? By far and away, the absolute WORST excuse for Chinese food I have ever encountered. Completely inedible - basically we just paid $40 for white rice for dinner. I'm not big on writing reviews but I feel it is my duty as a citizen of Reno to alert the public about this sham of a restaurant. I ordered the garlic chicken, which was basically miniscule pieces of a grayish-pink meat floating in what looked like dirty water surrounded by huge chunks of onion and garlic. It was atrocious. My poor husband ordered the lemon chicken, which was orange (wat?) and chewy. Nasty, nasty stuff folks. I am floored by the good reviews on here, maybe they are friends of the owners or something? Perhaps it was because I got a combo so maybe they try to put less meat in that but either way, it wasn't up to par. The chicken chow mein had practically no chicken. The broccoli beef was all broccoli with like one piece of beef. The fried rice had no egg in it. It wasn't bad really but just not really what I ordered considering the meat wasn't really there. This was my first time ordering from here. I ordered the sesame chicken because we wanted something breaded and crunchy on the outside . I asked the lady taking my order what was breaded and crunchy and she pretty much said just that was it. It didn't end up being crunchy, and we ate it right away when we got it home.I was happy with the flavor and the ample sauce though. I loved the chowmein because the sprouts and onions were still crisp and it was flavorful. We also ordered the cheese Rangoon which was very yummy and flavorful inside, but the outside was not very crisp, I fact it was a bit soggy and limp. I got the 10 wontons appetizer because my kids wanted to know what wontons are. Well, this was a pretty pathetic version of a wonton. It was more like a flat unsalted chip, with the occasional pinto bean sized chunk of jerky mystery meat in the middle.
