Finally got an Indian place nearby. Lovely restaurant, nicely decorated. Lovely smells from the get go. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door & directed to a table (booth). We ordered Garlic Naan, Aloo Naan, Butter chicken, Curry chicken and Malai Kofta. This is not the cheapest place, but most of us had leftovers so 2 meals for the price of 1. Looking forward to going back to try other dishes.

Great food, very impressed, usually I find Indian food too spicy, even when I ask for no spice, but the mild was great for me.

So we went and we got the paneer biryani, veg korma, saag paneer, tandoori roti, and the aloo paratha. The second time we went we got the paneer biryani and the veg biryani. The restaurant itself has some cool decor with the umbrellas and the staff is so nice and helpful. Any questions we had they were more than happy to answer. After a hot Orlando day it was a little chilly in there but that's totally fine. Our food came out in good time which warmed us up. The food is SO good. It's simply a must try if you're in the area. Everything was so flavorful. The saag paneer was very tasty and full of paneer. The veg korma packed in a ton of flavor- if you get it spicy just know it hits you after. You can also taste the cashew which I like, but my sister doesn't love a lot of cashews so this wasn't her fav. The paratha was good just a little dry on the inside, but I'd still get it again. The tandoori roti was also great- super fresh! Now the biryani. I LOVED the paneer biryani. Truly so so good, it is a flavor heaven. Tons of different spices, onions, and paneer...yum! All of us loved the paneer biryani so much that we had to go back and get it again after a day at the Kennedy space center (being open till 11 was very clutch!). We got the veg biryani in addition to the paneer this time. And while I loved the paneer biryani... the veg one takes the crown. You cannot skip the veg biryani. It is out of this world. Probably one of the best ones I've had, certainly in recent memory. My taste buds were practically singing. My mouth is watering just thinking about it right now. Do yourself favor, and get the veg biryani. It is just absolutely amazing. We will definitely be back on our next Orlando trip!

The server who greeted us was a bit short when we said we were looking for dine in, but quickly sat us and brought us drinks. I think she was just surprised we were staying, considering the storm! She gave us excellent service for our meal. I got a mango lassi, biryani chicken, and my partner got the coconut curry and we shared the garlic naan. All of our food was delicious and plentiful. The ambience was pleasant, though the kitchen being essentially situated in the center of the restaurant meant that the tantalizing smells permeated pretty well- but, were also able to dissipate quickly. Definitely one I'm excited to return to!

Second attempt at this review since my draft magically disappeared…read more While on vacation for the holidays, we decided to go out for dinner on Christmas Day. We called ahead to ensure they were open and ask their hours and decided to make a reservation for 7 people. When we arrived, the host nearly turned us away because whoever answered the phone didn't communicate with her. Mind you, there were only 2 tables dining. After waiting about 15 minutes she finally decided we could be seated. Not sure who answered the phone since she was the only one there outside of the kitchen. While I appreciated her rushing through and explaining the menu, the whole experience went down from there. I never got my drink, and everyone else's drinks came out after appetizers and entrees. We had to wait or flag her down when we needed something. We received an extra chicken pakora which she stated was "on the house" but she still charged us for the extra app and my never-received lemonade. I like that the butter chicken was thick however the chicken tikka masala was quite oily. Some pieces of the naan were quite charred. When it was time to pack our leftovers, we were only handed styrofoam containers. Needless to say, the curry was seeping out the sides before even paying the bill. Our to-go mango lassi was also much smaller than the ones that were served at the table. Edit: we also ordered a tikka masala to go which was packed in a plastic container. So unsure why they were not able to provide them for our leftovers. Based on the service and inconsistencies, I cannot recommend this restaurant. We got eye rolls for asking about items that were not yet received. It was very clear that she was over the night as she had expressed how busy it was the night before. Even stating she would stop answering the phone even though they weren't closing for a couple of hours. Knowing they were one of the few restaurants opened for a major holiday, in a tourist town, AND considering how busy they were the night before, I really hope there are lessons learned on staffing appropriately or even choosing between online orders or dine in guests.

The vegetable korma was plentiful and basmati rice was included. The korma was creamy with the cashew paste and had an ample amount of tasty vegetables. The korma was also on the milder side, but still has some spices for me to enjoy. The rice was cooked nicely to enjoy the korma with. We also had some onion nan, which was pretty fluffy, and soft after putting it on the korma. The lassi was on the thicker side, but still very enjoyable as the the yogurt texture made the drink more authentic. The ras malai for dessert is always my favorite, and this was no exception as it was 4 ricotta cheese balls in a milky sauce that had a hint of rose flavor. All food and drinks were very satisfying. Since my dad had all the food to go, I am unable to comment on the service and atmosphere. However, I know this restaurant is owned by Uday (who used to have Passage to India) in International Drive, so I knew this place would be high quality. This is a great Indian restaurant in the Clermont area, and worth the drive for people closer to Orlando. Overall: A

I liked the Paneer slightly more. The waitress said the portions are large, but we didn't agree with that. They were the same sizes as almost all Indian Restaurants. I suppose for the price, I would have appreciated more if the veggies were not frozen. The white rice that came with the Paneer was plain and wished it had a bit more pizzaz, maybe peas, saffron for example. When you add the prices in, with the overall flavoring as fair to pretty good, we felt that it would not be on our list upon our return to Clermont. We have been to countless Indian Restaurants and so we compare many factors in the rating. That being said, the red did a bustling business for a Sunday afternoon.

I had high hopes walking into Saffron Indian Cuisine on 7724 West Sand Lake Road, Orlando FL…read more especially arriving right at 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday when the doors opened. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. My wife chose the buffet, assuming everything would be freshly prepared at opening time. To our surprise, every single item on the buffet line was cold -- from the rice and chicken dishes to the biryani and palak paneer. If a restaurant opens at 11:30, the food should be hot and ready to serve. Cold curries and rice immediately take away from both texture and flavor, and in this case, the dishes tasted flat and lacked the depth of spices you expect from Indian cuisine. Based on this visit, I would recommend skipping the buffet and ordering from the regular menu instead. Buffet selections often feel like the more economical options, and here they were devoid of the bold flavors that make Indian food so memorable. I ordered the chicken biryani from the à la carte menu. It was noticeably better -- aromatic and more flavorful than the buffet items. However, it still missed an important element. Traditionally, biryani is prepared by marinating the chicken and cooking it together with the rice so the spices infuse the meat and every bite is cohesive. In this case, while the rice carried some fragrance, the chicken itself was not well marinated and tasted bland on its own. It felt more assembled than thoughtfully cooked together. Another important point is pricing. The dishes are on the expensive side, and at those prices, the flavors and overall quality should be excellent. When you're paying premium prices, you expect depth of seasoning, proper preparation, and attention to detail -- not cold buffet trays or under-marinated meat. Service was the bright spot of the visit. The staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our meal. Overall, not a terrible experience, but certainly disappointing. With better attention to temperature, flavor development, and consistency, this place could justify its pricing -- but on this visit, it fell short.

Since our table wasn't ready, we spent about 20 minutes outside taking in the view. It ended up being one of the best parts of the night. Watching the zebras and giraffes roaming around at sunset felt surreal! Once we got seated, we started with cocktails. I had the bees knees, which was light, refreshing, and a great way to kick things off. Of course, we had to try the famous naan flight, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The breads included traditional naan, garlic naan, spiced naan, onion kulcha, and paneer paratha. The accompaniments were just as impressive. It comes with mango chutney, roasted red pepper hummus, coriander chutney, tamarind chutney, tomato date jam, cucumber raita, and a jalapeño lime pickle. It was fun mixing and matching flavors! For my entrée, I ordered the butter chicken with rice and lentils, and it was exactly what I was hoping for rich, comforting, and very flavorful. As expected with Disney dining, it wasn't spicy at all but still really satisfying. We finished with the giraffe dessert, a peanut, banana, and chocolate creation that was almost too beautiful to eat. The presentation was incredibly artistic, and it tasted just as good as it looked. Overall, Sanaa is such a unique experience with great food, great service, and unbeatable savanna views. Definitely worth it.

Took 3 person to look puzzled and then when we get tired we ask if they going to seat us as our kids are hungry . They sat us at the bar that has a 8 seater . The 5 of us was relieved to be seated as we have a long day of traveling to Disney world with 2 babies . Kevin our waiter took our appetizer orders and we were happily drinking our wine and test tasting the appetizer when an employee came to ask if we mind sharing our 8 seater table with another family. We politely declined as our kids will have difficulty eating with strangers . Then came the manager Damon, and tell us that we have to give up the other side of the table as this is a common area table . Who cares what table you have , w make reservations for window seats a month or two ago and now we are seated at the bar with a 5 year old and a very hungry and irritable 2 year old and they keep bothering us to give up half the table . So he thinks that being the manager asking we would give in & share our table with strangers ? There are at least 1/2 the dining tables that has been vacated due to the lateness of the dining time . Son in law and I don't like his manner nor tone and couldn't believe Disneyland, a place where dream come true . Couldn't accommodate us with a peaceful dinner time with our 2 little birthday girls . We finally gave in because they are making a scene and I am pass being hungry . This manager has no management nor customer skills , why can't you open other tables for new customers instead of moving us and bothering us like we are being punished for their system loosing our reservations ! Our app still have the reservation but their restaurant doesn't have our name not information. But that manager Damon, took the Worst service person on my books , being traveler for years and tasting cuisines around the world , never had I enjoy the food but has a bad taste of customer service spoils my enjoyment .
