I came here with some work colleagues for takeout. We got here, picked up our food, and got back within 30 minutes which was amazing. It was busy at lunchtime. Ordering online was easy. As we arrived inside, the gentleman packing up our orders was friendly and asked about sauces, receipts,etc. Mac and cheesy was toasty on top, very creamy. Pulled pork was flavorful and tender. This restraunt was great! I loved it! It honors police officers, firefighters, and EMTs. This restaurant is so respectful. The food was great, though when I was eating my burger, a piece of paper came out of it. I'm assuming it was from the cheese wrapping that they forgot to take out. Went for dinner last night, and it was a great experience. Food was great, people working there were great, and we were there in the peak of dinner hour on a Saturday night and the service was fast and we had no trouble getting a table. It had a positive atmosphere. A few random observations: 1. The portions are not huge. If you have a decent appetite, you won't be going home with leftovers. If you have a huge appetite, you may want an extra side. 2. Reportedly, most Mission BBQ locations do not have alcohol on the menu. This one has a few types of beer available. 3. You order at the counter, and you go up to get it when your name is called. Not unusual for a BBQ place. However, someone does come by and check on you after you've sat down with your food to see if you need anything else. It's nice, but it's quite unusual to have that in a restaurant that is not full service. 4. The oddest thing was that we weren't sure if we were supposed to bus our own tables when we were done. Very rustic inside just what you want when going to a BBQ joint. We went around 7 and there were still ppl eating and coming in after us. It was so good, I came back the next day and ordered the hawaiian ribeye. Wow! One of the most delicious steaks I've had at a restaurant. Ordered catering for 100+ people this past weekend. Have used the Fredericksburg location a few times previously and this was the first with Stafford due to proximity near the base location. Family and I are visiting Virginia and went to Mission BBQ on Garrison Rd last night (11/4 ) for dinner. It was recommended. Great ambiance - I loved the medals, Marine quotes, pictures, and the army trucks parked outside. I ordered the 5-rib Baby Back Ribs. Goodness ....I should've ordered the full rack!! It was sooo goood. The meat was tender, practically fell off the ribs! And the multi-sauce choice ...absolutely amazing! What was impressive was learning that Mission BBQ does NOT have refrigerators. All the food is prepared daily. WOW!! And their smokers are right there for anyone to see. My meal arrived with fresh, crispy, hot fries, and cornbread. Wonderful meal. Visited Veteran's Day, and had an amazing experience! I have to pass on my greatest thanks to Mission BBQ, the staff, and more specifically Bishop this evening. Stopped by for dinner, tired from the day, and was welcomed by multiple staff as I entered the door. A gentleman at the register (Bishop) saw I was ready to order and quickly assisted me. He was very friendly, hospitable, and respectful as I took my order. He asked if I was a veteran and personally shook my hand as he thanked me for my service. By the time Friday rolls around, I won't oppose the idea of eating out. This Mission BBQ is now open for dine in and take out. For dinner I had a pulled pork sandwich and baked beans. The pork was moist and tender, while the baked beans were just right. My pulled pork went great with the Texas Twang sauce. Both hit the spot and were more than enough to fill me up. MB doesn't just offer the normal BBQ Sauces - Georgia Mustard, Alabama White & Texas Twang...huh? There was no lack of utensils, sauces, handy wipes or paper products for the massive containers of Tea & Lemonade. It's rare to hear compliments on how fresh the teas/lemonade tastes which resulted in many Arnold Palmers being made. Kudos to the MB's green effort in using recycle products. To that end, I appreciate our Marine escorts for helping me avoid waste as they received all the leftover unopened products & drinks. No complaints with the preparations/portions, especially from our Celebrity VIP who double ordered on the Bay B Back Ribs & was "overly" satisfied. A friend (Adam D) and I stopped in here for lunch a couple weeks ago (on 9/11 actually) as we had both heard good things. When we arrived the place was PACKED, but we were able to get in and get a table. Because of the 9/11 anniversary, the place was full of first responders who were having a showcase of equipment and had a nice little ceremony with the National Anthem. Anyway, my buddy ordered the two meat platter (brisket and baby back ribs) with fries and cornbread and I had the three meat combo with ribs, pulled pork and smoked turkey with coleslaw, beans and the cornbread. The food was great, though I personally like my beans a touch sweeter. With six different sauces on the table I just kept rotating with each bite-they were all pretty good, but I don't remember the name of the one I like most.
