Salmon hand roll

All the food was fresh and delicious. Japanese seafood interior vibe. Service was friendly, prompt, and helpful. The yellowtail was fresh. The tempura was crispy and perfectly cooked. Great place for Japanese food!

My roll was so delicious and the service was great. Very fresh ahi tuna and the miso soup was tasty too. I will definitely be back for that roll again.

We decided to try this sushi place in town that we have always been curious about. Taka's Grill, this is a casual and cozy spot for Japanese eats, including sushi, teriyaki, and tempura dishes. We all ordered different sushi rolls and then were able to sample from each others plates. The food was delicious and freshly prepared as ordered. The waitress was extremely polite and efficient. The place was clean.

So generous with the hotate and avocado.

What an amazing little gem. I came in just before the rush and spoke with Taka and Lenora my bright, cheerful and attentive server. Such a warm welcoming vibe. They serve real gen mai cha tea which is a breath of warm nutty fresh air. Everything was amazing. Hamachi carpaccio was my favorite. The dressing was so bright and tangy, opening up the flavors generously with the delicate hamachi melting in my mouth. And the pickled peppercorns, ZOMG ... I wanted a whole side dish! Amazing spicy hotatate (scallop) hand roll with generous hotate, avocado and tobiko. Miso was on point. I finished with the shishito spicy maguro tempura and it was the perfect warm dish to finish my meal. So FULL I forgot to take a picture is was so excited about the shishito. I grew up in a Japanese household and worked at some amazing and famous Japanese restaurants in Seattle, Las Vegas and more. This has a nice balance of fresh raw dishes, warm Japanese tapas and big hot meals for those comfort days. Whatcha waiting for? Get your nom on. PSA. Everything is made fresh. Don't complain about long wait times if you want freshly made food from scratch with love. Go to McDonald's? Sheesh.

Beef curry

The food and service was very good. The sushi tasted fresh and the tempura was delicious. My wife had the beef curry and she said it had the spice and the taste of great Japanese curry. Would definitely come here again.

This is a small town that highway 1 runs through and this Japanese restaurant is worth a stop when…read moreyou drive through. It is fantastic. They have a very large selection of sake, and the servers know and talk with the locals which is so nice to see in our modern society. The sashimi was absolutely stunningly good. Every dish was fantastic (we did the chef tasting menu - 5 course meal) and at the end we both looked at the Michelin guide because "this place has to be rated!) Take a drive or reroute yourself through Point Arena. You won't be sorry.

Went to Gama for my bday dinner. Had a reservation and it was pretty quiet inside so we were able…read moreto sit at a table instead of the bar. Usually we like sitting at the bar to see the chefs do their thing, but this place is not like that at least the night we went to which was surprising cause Japanese establishments typically are cooking out in the open. They had a lot of different sakes which was really nice to see but no draft beer unless I missed it. They let you pick a cup for your sake which is so cute, I loved that. All their table wear was so beautiful. We got a fruity sake first and loved that one. The second one was the "goku" it was giving straight sake. I'd prolly stick to fruitier ones. The server was very kind and she was easy to talk to and provided great service. As for the food, I thought it was pretty okay! We ordered the omakase which was $75 per person and it was very filling. We had trout sashimi which had some bite texturally not my fave fish tbh. Potato Salad which a jammy egg omg I loved it but wondered how it'd taste if the egg was marinated. The mushroom soup was lemony and oniony it was pretty good. The karage could've been crispier imo and I wish the wasabi aoli was a lil different but it was still good. The robata was hella good my fave was the meatball one, I'm not a big fan of cartilage but that it very well cooked, and I appreciated the pile seasoning provided as well. The strawberry topped panna cotta was so good no notes. Overall, pretty good and I'd go again if I was in this area and order individual dishes especially the potato salad and panna cotta. Not really the vibe of an izakaya imo they also don't have ginger but def a nice Japanese restaurant with some twists.

Not sure where to start here but here goes. We were seated…read moreand sat there for 10 minutes. Person came over to take order and I said can we have menus ? Mind blown. All downhill from there. Out of noodles. No chow meins which is another shocker considering it is a specialty based on menu offering 5+ variation. I asked which Chinese chicken dish had assortment of vegetables. They didn't know and returned to tell me the "chicken with vegetables". Had vegetables. Um ok I read that on the menu but everything listed was nonndescriotive and I had no idea the difference between this restaurants version of Szechuan, generals, kung pao etc chicken dishes. Basically server had no clue what was on the menu or even ability tone of assistance. I ordered the general chicken that was supposed to be hot it had no heat and no sauce worth noting. Nor any rice. Nice batter though. My son ordered sushi and had to eat it with a fork because the roll fell apart with chop sticks. Yes he knows how to use them. Sushi was low grade and some was fishy tasting One of my other cohorts had to wait 30-40 minutes after first entree was served before they received their food. Slow unprofessional staff and poor food preparation and quality. Will not be back anytme soon.
